  • Damn you got a steal mister, i don't know the quality of the guitar but it sounded good!nice pickin!

  • Nice version of this! Did Brian Curran teach you this version? We're doing this song next in my lessons and I can't wait! Keep it up, awesome job!

  • Yeah - actually I think Brian taught me every song I know - you'll enjoy it.

  • man that was fantastic

  • am i know this is off topic but since you play the guitar i want to ask you what kind of guitar should i use

am 13 and am just a beginner and i've been searching online like crazy to find out which one is more appropriate for my age i was going to buy one just like yours but am not sure if it's the right size please help

  • What ever guitar you can get your hands on. No kiddin', play what you got, when you got it, and keep playin' ; practice, practice and practice some more..and then, after your sure you're gonna stick with it, maybe get a nice Martin, and practice some more, but what ever you end up with, play the heck out of it!!

  • depends on what sound your looking for

  • Nice job-I didn't know that Dick Cheney played guitar.

  • Again! :-D

  • I just say WoW

  • Looks so easy when you do it!!!

  • Exactly. Fuckin' hell.

  • THAT WAS AWSOME EVERY BODY HAS FORGOTTEN THAT KIND OF MUSIC AND REAL ROCK

i play guitar to so check out my vids

just type in linksfiery22 at the top

  • Nicely played! What's the scale length on that guitar?

  • "Guitar Rag" by Travis and by Weaver are 2 different tunes.

The one played here was written by Weaver. It was later adopted by the electric lap steel guitar players, and they called it the "Steel Guitar Rag". It was also adopted by John Fahey, who played it on a Weissenborn and called it "Steel Guitar Rag" too.

Your version is a nice one, pretty rhythmic and all. I player it lap style like Fahey... more fun :)

  • The greatest song ever recorded

ST.LOUIS BLUES by Sylvester Weaver in the history of recording, does any one have that song?love to hear it again

  • I have the recording of StLouis Blues by Sylvester Weaver - that what you mean? I could probably copy it to an MP3 file if you want it.

  • Good job!!

    really sounds nice.

    5/5 from me !

  • Wow Dave!!! It is a delicious melody!! It is wonderful............... you are a master!! and you shine very well with your guitar, you are perfect!! A hug and many congratulations. Juan

  • Thanks Juan - appreciate your comment

  • Very nice. I like the laid back feeling of it. But I don't think it's Merle Travis' Guitar Rag.

  • Way to go. Isn't it called Steel Guitar Rag though?

  • Thanks for your kind comment - You are right - most folks would call it the "Steel Guitar Rag" - I have a recording released in 1927 by Sylvester Weaver called "Guitar Rag" which I pretty closely follow on the first time through on my video - the second time thru is somewhere in between.

  • I didn't know sylvester wrote this, thought it was Merle Travis. Thanks for enlightning me! :)
