  • Pięęęękne. ! <3

  • Days go by and I don't know why I'm walking on a wire, I close my eyes and fly out of my mind into the fire-------is exactly how I feel.

  • luv it!

  • memories...

  • I love this song !!! I thought Paula Cole sings it ???

  • Who else had Shawn Colvin as their lullabies when they were young? Or am I just young? Haha

  • Thank you for uploading this: I fucking hate Vevo and all their gay ads.

  • @jmhizon83 Ads about gay people? Or the ads themselves have a sexuality?

  • Now this is what you call a "kick ass" song.

  • it's about suicide

  • i love this song ^^

  • what does sunny came home mean guys?

i honestly don have a clue

  • @hasti213 I always thought that she was talking about a person, who came come and set her small hometown on fire. "Strike A Match Go Ahead and do it" Fire is symbolic of cleanses oneself and ones past, for while here past haunted her she felt out of her mind........ The end implies that afterward she was ok and reclaimed her sanity, because the past was destroyed. Well Thats my meaning of the song anyway.

  • @hasti213 I am not sure, but I am pretty sure it has to do with a cheating husband, or abusive one.... getting your kids out of the house, and burning it down with him inside of it.

  • @multismashify I had read the comment and I was fully aware that the conclusion you reached was correct. I think you might misunderstand why I began debating this with you. I found your second comment condescending and hypocritical, since the sentence is not incorrect in any way other than puncuation, and I would venture to guess that have some point you have employed the same tactic (though I am uncomfortable suggesting this because it itself is rather condescending). I continued to find...

  • @LadyLuck282 "...imply that the user's way of conveying their statement is incorrect. This is negated because the word convey suggest that there might be multiple interpretations and opinions of the statement, meaning it cannot be incorrect as you imply." To begin, I have strived to be as clear in my meaning as possible in my replies, meeting each issue with carefully chosen words so as not to seem as though I am 'implying' anything. Throughout I have stated, not implied. Second, if I at any...

  • since the lyrics make no sense anyways, I kind of like "with permission" more

  • This song really is an amazing song <3

  • awesome song for a road trip :)

  • Such an underrated song

  • I always wondered who sang this. A very brilliant and captivating song... do the lyrics reference something? This would be a perfect song to use in a fan video for the presently reclusive actress Natanya Ross (the name of her character in one of her early roles, like the yellow gummi bear in the cartoon, was the same as the title of this song) look her up!

  • Love this song. But just sayin'... If Judas Priest sang these exact lyrics they'd b in court - or at least villified in media - for inciting arson... right?

  • heard this song in ikea after trying to figure out what it was forever...wrote down the lyrics, googled, delight.

  • I remember hearing this song all the time back in the day.... back then, I had no clue what a mandolin was, but now I hear it clearly in the mix

  • its about a lady who was abused n shit grab the kids bring a sweater she gets the kids n burns the house while her husband is asleep soo my music teacher told me dont hate just shut up n ignore my comment

  • I'd like to dedicate listening to this to Lisa Irwin, 10 months old kidnapped October 2011 from Kansas City, MO. Please bring her home, safe. <3

  • @Bubbles3592 aww all my prayers go to her and her family....may God return the little baby safely..

  • @Sw33tandLov3ly prayers is not really true.. jesus nver really existed.. thats the truth..

  • @Sw33tandLov3ly Ahh, the 90's!

  • @Bubbles3592 so sorry..... :(

  • @Bubbles3592 those MOFOS will pay. We will win.

  • @Bubbles3592 I agree I always listen for her , " I live in Kansas City"

    are you related to Lisa?

  • @Bubbles3592 Ok amber alert.

  • thanks for the song and lyrics - in 2011, Shawn sounds like an age past, what with inane Beyonces, Britneys et al.The song is about a woman burning her house down along with her past - so plangent, poignant tuneful - pure magic- sudheerg

  • @akbhar1383 This is REAL music not the crap thats on these days!!! Where are these beautiful women from the day??? How did we wind up with Beyonce and Rhianna and all that gutter TRASH???

  • whats this song about?

  • This song is one of those that I really want to like because of the music but the lyrics are just too creepy and disturbing. I wish this catchy music had different lyrics because I love the singer's voice. But, just creepy. Nice job with the images and I think you are right, I always heard it as "a mission" which goes along with the story of the song "a list of names" and "a vengeance".

  • No, it was a mission...:-)

  • this is one of them songs i just liked and will always stick with me...most of the mid 90's music especially rocked....like the vid w/ lyrics...

  • Did it occurred to anyone that there's a grammar mistake in this extremely beautiful song? it should be- "days go by" and not "goes by". Well, maybe it is just on this video...

  • These were some truly beautiful images you put together. I am faving this! For me, this song represents a woman struggling with mental illness, and the rope she's walking being the fine line between sanity and being consumed by her delusions (insanity).

  • I always thought it was "Sonny came home with permission"... Are you sure it's "a mission"? Not that it matters much. It's a great song either way.

  • @TJ347 yes im sure its mission not permission although i might be mistaken?

  • It's mission. 100% sure on it.

  • @Sw33tandLov3ly You're not. It's "a mission."

  • @Sw33tandLov3ly your not mistaken its right :)

  • @Sw33tandLov3ly Please, do not say that you are sure of something and then consider the chance that you might be mistaken all within the same breath.

  • @multismashify sorry, it's a habit of mine i always change my mind at the last mintute....thinking im wrong lol i will break outta the habit saying im sure that its mission lol thnx to the ppl who said i was right....<3

  • @multismashify Grammatically it's entirely correct, so I don't see the issue?

  • @Chapter1Tormented Grammar was not the issue. Rather, it was a user whose sentence suggested at one and the same time that they wished to assert themselves while also providing enough security to remain in good graces with everyone. The latter part completely undermines the effectiveness of the first. This is something I've come to see quite frequently on the Net, and I developed a deep distaste for it.

  • @multismashify I understand.

  • @multismashify Maybe you could have considered that she meant she was sure in her own mind that the lyrics were "a mission" and not "permission", but she had not confirmed this officially. I'm not saying this is the case, but you shouldn't jump to conclusions.

  • @LadyLuck282 If this is what the user meant, then this is what they should have written.

A statement along the lines of "I have always believed the lyric to be 'mission' and not 'permission', though I have not been able to confirm this officially" could have communicated this quite clearly. Instead, the user's original statement is as follows: "yes im sure its mission not permission although i might be mistaken?" If the use was in fact trying to state what she felt about the lyric..

  • @multismashify If you feel that that's how it should be said, that's fine, but "yes im sure its mission not permission although i might be mistake?" is completely correct and logical, other then some grammar mistakes.

  • @LadyLuck282 There is no denying that the sentence, shabby in its structuring though it may be, is logically valid. Then again, so is the sentence "The man decided that he should walk down Maple Avenue." This sentence about the man and his activities, though logically valid, does not convey any sentiment or belief about the lyrics of the song in question. Again, the issue concerning the user's original statement is not that their sentence is logically invalid. The issue is how well...

  • @LadyLuck282 grammar, spelling, structure and tone to convey precisely the idea they are trying to get across. Logical validity and level of skill are two areas which, while connected, still retain separate identities.

  • @multismashify your comments condescending because, while you concede that the sentence is logically correct, you simultaneously imply that the user's way of conveying their statement was incorrect. This is negated because the word convey suggests that there might be multiple interpretations and opinions of the statement, meaning it cannot be incorrect as you imply.

  • @LadyLuck282 If you had chosen to respond to me out of a belief that I was condescending, why not bring this charge against me from the very start, rather than arguing a case for logical validity concerning sentences? You seem rather stuck on this issue of 'correct/incorrect', which is odd in that my original post towards the user Sw33tandLov3ly had very little to do with correctness but rather the way the user presented themselves through the comment they had written. While they are...

  • @LadyLuck282 right in that the lyric in question is 'mission' and not 'permission', this issue was not the one with which I took offense. Rather, it was the structuring and tone of a sentence that suggests one who wishes to assert themselves as correct and then pulls back at the last moment, demonstrating a lack of confidence in place of where just a few words ago an abundance of it was present. Being correct in facts and the presentation of oneself emotional are, again, two separate areas...

  • @LadyLuck282 However, the manner in which you continued to engage this debate suggested that you were using the terms 'correct/incorrect' to refer to the grammar and structure employed in the sentences the user had written, in an effort to prove that they were sentences which could be accepted as proper within the bounds of English language convention. Again, this is somewhat baffling, in that through this approach it seems as though you are trying to challenge a question of skill with an...

  • @multismashify answer of "correct and incorrect is all that matters. If it meets the basic requirements to be considered a legitimate sentence, there is no issue." If such is the case, all a person need do in order to describe a feeling of sadness they are experiencing is write the words "I feel sad", without any need to explore the emotion through use of detail. "...your comments condescending because, while you concede that the sentence is logically correct, you simultaneously..."

  • @LadyLuck282 point referred to the user's original statement as 'logically correct' in my replies, this is a mistake. However, I think you shall find that, by and large, my responses held the user's sentence to be 'logically valid', not 'logically correct'. The difference is that by being 'logically valid', the sentence is crafted in a way communicates an idea or feeling. The sentence does meet this most basic requirement, but only barely. To be 'logically correct', the sentence would need...

  • @LadyLuck282 much more in the way of proper grammar and punctuation (which, if you shall look, you shall see that the sentence suffers mechanically in many more areas than that of simple punctuation). However, even if the sentence does demonstrate a use of proper grammar whose level might be considered 'logically correct', with all parts of the sentence properly accounted for, simply because a sentence is 'logically correct' does not mean that the sentence is up to the task of conveying the...

  • @LadyLuck282 desired emotion. A 'logically correct' sentence means that all each word is used in its correct place, all grammatical rules are obeyed to the letter, thus leaving the sentence as one that does not, in any way, defy grammatical convention. This is all that is required for a sentence to be 'logically correct'. When it comes to conveying a specific emotion, however, words must be judged as adequate or inadequate as descriptors, seeing how well they let the reader feel what the...

  • @LadyLuck282 writer felt. Thus, though a sentence may be 'logically correct' in a masterful use of grammar, if the words chosen to convey the experience or concept are not the best for the job, the entire enterprise falls short. In this manner, a sentence may be 'logically correct' while at the same time doing a poor job of conveying the desired aim. That you suggest that I was trying to say that the way in which the user conveyed their meaning was 'incorrect' is in itself incorrect, for in...

  • @LadyLuck282 this area I was not dealing in terms of 'correct' or 'incorrect'. Rather, I was dealing with an issue that is to be measured in levels of skill. Unless the words are selected to state with perfect clarity the desired meaning, that meaning will suffer multiple interpretations as a natural result of its writer's inability to communicate clearly. Terms of 'correct' and 'incorrect' apply naturally in some places. Others, not so much.

  • @LadyLuck282 while also saying that she had no official confirmation that what she understood the lyric to be was the official lyric, a statement similiar to the one I've provided would seem more up to the job. What the user wrote, in measures of structure and tone, suggests one who wishes to state as fact that they are 100% certain of something and then, at the very last moment, pulling back for fear that they may have been in wrong, and, in turn, may be subject to the ridicule...

  • @LadyLuck282 that people commonly use against those who have been proven wrong. Thus, I feel as though I must reiterate again that my issue was with how the user chose to express themselves. There was no 'jumping to conclusions'. If the user had possibly been trying to express something along the lines of what you suggest, the fault lives with them in their inability to use language properly to communicate the desired sentiment. This all seems rather moot by this....

  • @LadyLuck282 point, however, for it you read the response the user gave to my post, you will find this statement: "sorry, it's a habit of mine i always change my mind at the lst minute...thinking im wrong lol i will break outta the hait saying im sure that its mission lol thnx to the ppl who said I was right...<3". The user confirmed that I had understood correctly "Shouldn't jump to conclusions?" Perhaps you shouldn't comment before getting all the facts.

  • @multismashify Wow you're a little rude, aren't you? You should be thanking the maker of this video for providing you with the entertainment, not picking her comments apart.

  • @booshkah14 Seeing that the comment that I originally 'picked apart' had to do with standing by one's feelings on the song, I think that, if anything, I was doing the vid uploader a favor. Are you trying to say that your relationship with music is founded upon something other than the sensations it brings forth in you? If so, its clear that whatever understanding of music you have is highly defective at best, revoltingly perverse at worst.

  • @multismashify What does my comment to you have to do with my relationship with or understandign of music? I'm talking about the way you were being a prick to the maker of this video for no reason.

  • @booshkah14 As stated before, my original comment was a bit of criticism aimed towards the way the uploader commented on their feelings on the song. You, by taking issue with my original comment the way you did, implied that the way one feels about a song takes a backseat to other issues when dealing with music. Given that even the most snobbish of critics agree that the central value of music is its ability to move a person, your comment suggests your understanding of music to be warped.

  • @booshkah14 This is what your comment had to do with your relationship with and 'understandign' of music. It was quite revealing toward how malformed your ability to grasp music. In addition, it also revealed the fact that you are one too thick to understand just how much your betraying about yourself with your careless writing.

  • @TJ347 its definitly came home with a mission. but its days go by, not days goes by

  • @TJ347 It's MISSION look up the lyrics and quit being mad at someone who was nice enough to post a VID

  • @shin0bi88 Who said I was mad at anyone, much less the poster of the video? Quit being a dick over a comment made a month ago now that has already been cleared up by several other posters. Do you see a post where I'm arguing with them? No, you don't. I accepted that it's "a mission" and moved on, but there's always gotta be one person on Youtube hellbent on being a prick...

  • @TJ347 its mission lol i think haha

  • @TJ347 It's mission for sure.

  • amazing

  • so summer

  • 3 People don't want Sunny to come home

  • @momofpoophead LOL!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Is this song about being on drugs?

  • @MrDebashishMohanty That's what I'm thinking. I was a kid listening to this and thought it was about a mom, but now am sure it's about drugs. Someone OD-ing, or suicide

  • @shin0bi88 In enough drugs to burn down the house.

  • @shin0bi88 its about arson

  • @shin0bi88 Growing up I always thought it was about murder. The second verse always made me feel that way. People saying it's about arson sound plausible too.

  • I love a good chick song every now and again...when nobody's around XD
