have you ever noticed that guy requesting (well DEMANDING) this tune on the live album?
"securicor!" "securicor!" he shouts between songs. when that doesnt work he yells in exasperation "securiFUCKINGcor!!!"
hes nearly as famous as the disgruntled folkie calling Bob Dylan "Judas" for playing electric guitar in Manchester in 1966 or the strange N York punter repeatedly shouting "Tell 'em!" at Sid Vicious on Sid Sings.
did you really dance to this it was, well, if i had a big brotheR, it would be his generation; slightly before me i guess. must have been great times.
one of the greatest tracks.....ever,been drinkin?i have stations or 5000,have all og french lps via 1990,they were old when i got em,from venus records new york, still listen to crass time to time but this is my fav, other than black bird song?christ or stations, dont know,to many songs and fuked times, penis envy is a good one to drink to//evan williams strait..........
@stevo1fresh I don't think they literally mean that they are an army of sorts, but those guys have such a god complex, it's disgusting. They care about doing their job and not helping out where it is needed. Just a little bit of power can corrupt someone. But whatever, Crass rules...
@guyofmetal I work for group 4 securicor in canada, the guards that actually do develop a god complex end up getting canned more often than not. The people that actually do their job properly don't get recognized enough to nullify the negative attention we get from idiots.
@tmill909 You are part of the system. Face it. I have been labeled a weird guy who doesnt fit in. I never had people who understood me, I dont want to fit in, fuck that. I live where I want, cuz i can make money, cuz i learned skills to beat the system. Crass or punk dont give a fuck about you or me. only you do. living outside is for bums, you arent a bum, go make yourself a life. crass did. you can too. nobody is taking your blood unles you let them. make me proud. go do what you want. f them
@capablekel Everyone is a part of the system I agree. But unfortuately for me I ate the anarchy burger in my youth, which led me to make some very tragic mistakes(drugs, arrests, etc.) Then as I tried to pull my head out of my ass and do the right things(following the law, getting an education, gaining employment.) It seemed it was too late. So apathy creeps in and there you are a 40 yr. old punk rocker with tattoos, suicidal scars, mental instabilities, and no future. need not apply...etc.....
NO it is the equivant of the costra nostra. the black market baby, the mafia, the crew, the system of hell, the sons of satan, the black league, the two-horned God followers, the subteranium, the underground, the scene, the fucks, the dead, the ungodly, the living dead, the vampires, the Who? whoever feeds on our blood.
@tmill909 calm down, the mafia doesnt feed on our blood, neither god followers (fear), the underground, or the scene. the fucks might. but i am not sure what constitutes a fuck
@tmill909 well, i might regret saying this, but most crass fans i know arent exactly well educated. i understand refusing the system and blaming the only system we have for all the problems, but its irresponsible to ignore all the beauty and good it has created. Nothing wrong with dropping out, moving to a farm and hating war. I agree. But if you want to change the system you become part of it, then you can actually affect it instead of just talking about it. what do you think?
@capablekel Do you believe in the system? Well OK. I am a college educated man, and yes it is easier to affect things you are a part of. But am I not a part of the system if I live by its laws and regulations and pay taxes? I am not blaming the government for all of life's falls, only man is to blame for that. It is just that I have been labeled as a drop-out, and I know how hard it is to live outside. When you don't fit in then you are in trouble. And yes sometimes you may pay with ur blood.
@tmill909 here's the deal. we essencially agree. But you're generalizing things and putting yourself in a position you aren't really in. I love CRASS; love their music, their message. Their parinoia, as you said, is not a true perception of the world. Not in 2010 America, for me. You ask me do I believe in the syatem? WHat system? WHich one? The US, The world, the UK, economic, social, class. the system voyed on by the people that changes every 2,4 years? Taxes pay for roads, for parks etc.
I Believe those were the only songs Pete Wright sang on 'Feeding of the 5000'. On 'Stations' he does lead vocals on "Fun Going On", "Upright Citizen", and "Tired". On 'Christ-The Album' he sings the chorus (for lack of a better word) on "Rival Tribal Revel Rebel". And on 'Best Before' he has lead vocal on "Angela Rippon". (Those are all the Pete Wright sung tracks I can recall right now). If ya haven't heard any of these songs you should check them out. Good stuff.
same as that we have them coming to work all the time. I went by one the other day at work and i was singing this song - he just looked at me funny the moron!! did'nt have a clue ha ha
i worked as a security guard in a shopping mall once. fuckin hated it. non stop abuse from people who worked there abuse from my boss and they wouldnt pay us properly so i quit. and they stopped 600 euros of my cash to pay for "training" after i had quit. security guard - worse job i ever had.
I worked a stint as a cleaner in a suburban shopping mall a few years ago. Shit as it was it wasn't as bad as having the security guard's job. At least I had something to do to keep me occupied through the eight hours of tedium each day.
and the funny thing bout that job i had as security guard was that after i walked out lots more did the same thing. the manager of security that worked at the shopping mall and 8 or 9 or guards either left or got the push. i was at that mall recently and i didnt see any of the guards that worked for my old company. i have a feeling the company i worked for lost the contract. hmmmm.
Bloody hell! Nicely done! My favourite Crass song (the bass is amazing). Not old enough to ever have seen em so to see these pix of the band mixed in with Securicor stuff is superb stuff! Cheers!
" i walk around with a big alsation,i`ll rearrange you without provocation" great line /
I saw Crass in our local youth club in 81,they were great .If you wrote to them they`d send badges and even answer the letter personally.I often wonder what they`re all doing these days.
Securicor were just a security firm who dealt with transporting money from businesses to banks, they now have changed their name to G4S (Group 4 Securicor) but deal in security consultancy and the likes as well
