  • "You may have come lately but Ginnie come lately". ARE THOSE WORDS WRONG?

    JUST ASKING, THAT'S ALL.

  • @squirell1952

  • My two friends and I used to have crushes on three brothers. We used to sing "Jimmy Come Lately" in honor of the middle brother. (My friend's crush).

    That was 1969.

  • just a great song, I like this version better than the studio cut...

  • @langdondeere

My thoughts exactly. Have loved it from the beginning, but he's in top form here. Have ordered the DVD from Amazon, so thanks, Reine.

  • I had a girlfriend named Ginny when this song came out. Perfect.

  • what a brilliant singer and a fantastic song........

  • he looks good and sounds good. but the blond hair really is his best feature in this video

  • ginny come lately is the best song that Brian have ever sung. awesome voice.

  • this is still the best song that he has ever sung.

  • Bought a lot of his stuff in the early 60's like his sound...Remember this was 1988 so 22 years ago...

  • like this sympathic man and his old soft song...

  • You just as good as you were years ago!!!!

I like this the best sung by Brian H....

  • Brian's "Artistry" is unsurpassed by anyone! As one of Brian's contemporaries, I've grown up with his music...

He's an incredibly gifted Musician, who's songs hold universal appeal, through succeeding generations... Check out one of his recent singles, "It's Important to Me", right here on YouTube... It's a Winner!

  • I LOVE THIS LIVE VERSION......THE GUITAR CHORDS SEND CHILLS THROUGH ME AND BRIAN IS SO INTENSE... HARD TO DESCRIBE BUT JUST LOVE IT !

  • He's far more handsome now than when he was younger

  • i love this song

  • I'm such a fan of Brian but I can not find hes version of "Tragedy" which I think is so great, anyone if you could upload or advise me where I could get I would be so happy:)

  • Cool Brian Hyland. From your favourite fans- Chan Hock Kin,Long Heng Tiew 460704075295 & Chen Yuet Leng 560927085368

  • Seen Brian Hyland several times...good performer.

  • what a voice...

  • My name is Ginny !!!!! Haha

  • GOOD JOB BRYAN !

  • the boss. Original Boss.

  • He is good.....underrated---but one of the best.....r

  • Great Old Song!!!!!

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied!

  • Love it!

  • he obviously had rynoplasty surgery on nose

  • dont know if i sent this before

  • I see this video is from 1988, and the original recording is around circa 1962 (if my memory serves me well!) so if he was 18 in 1962, he would be 44 in this video, sort of believable I suppose because I haven't got any wrinkes yet either (phew). Wonder what he looks like now.

  • He was big in New Zealand in the 60's and he's still got it!!

  • Re my past comments -Brian Hyland is older than I thought he was, he is 66 but was only a teenager when he started out but having seen him close-up I would still be willing to bet that he has not had a face-lift -he still looks and sounds as good as ever -nice man -Donna

  • MAN!is this kool!

  • Beautiful song, Brian put on a great show!

  • fantastic, thanks for posting. I like this live version better than the original.

  • Love this! And he is soooooo fine to boot! thanks so much!

  • Nice tune but what does 'Ginny come lately' actually mean?

  • It has to do with the phrase "Johnny come lately" which means somebody who arrives after it is to too late to help, I think

    Henry

  • you are so vulgar poor devil

  • @BertHigginbottom for 1960 it was a very catchey tune.brian was a great writer and this song is a good example.

  • I was born in 1950 I can remember standing at the sink doing the dishes in the early 60's listening to the hit parade on the radio, I used to volunteer every night so I could listen to the music, Man I miss those days.

  • ... your mother musta loved you.

  • Thanks for posting, great version. Love this song!

  • cette chanson version allemande était un tube en 1962 lors de mon service militaire

c'était le slow le plus demandé dans les jukesbox, c'est toujours avec une pointe de nostalgie que je l'écoute

  • Man this takes me back to 1962. And I wonder who sings harmony -- nice job.

  • Rest in peace dear Josie . . .you always requested this song, even when I wasnt in the mood to sing it . . .

  • Sitting in the Back-Seat? Who??

  • 1962. On the Duke Box in most of Brtitain..

  • Good job. Remember it well . I like this live version. Thanks for posting.

  • Beautiful song!

  • Oh! Never thought I would ever hear this song again. They never play it on the oldies stations, and why not, I will never know.. I love this song. Thank you so much for posting this fantastic video.. :)

  • My Favourite song ,am a 60's girl thank you for posting.

  • This is fantastic and takes me back to my teens (1960s) and if you do not agree you are sad!! and do not appreciate good 60s sound

  • This is my favorite-song with Brian Hyland--

but not the original from the 60´s!

  • Anja.ich kann dich nicht vergessen.ich liebe dich unglaublich!

  • This is another sweet song of yesteryears gone by.

  • correct me if im wrong

  • this song is featured in Lemon Popsicle and i believe in no5 where Benji goes out with bobby's sister ginny - i have the box set of all 7 films

  • You are right..I have all the films too and way back in the early 80's when i first saw the films on video i was first introduced to lots of classic 50's,early 60's songs and have been gratefull to them ever since!

  • Super Song !

  • Those were the days my friends, I wish they had not ended. I was tooling around in a Stingray. I wonder how he looks today.

  • indeed my friend i can easily share your spirit. this song is full of nostalgia especially to summer 1962, the best summer of my life.

  • Hab das Lied noch auf MC und LP, wo sind nur die Künstler hin mit all diesen himmlischen Melodien?

  • Danke für diesen Superhit....

  • Check Out The Official Brian Hyland YouTube Channel

  • 1988 and he looks so good and still looks mighty fine today. Brian you can serenade me anytime.

  • this song reminds me how much I love my poor wonderfull WIFE !!

  • Wow, I haven't heard this in a long long long time. Great Stuff, Thanks.

  • I still have the original records. It really does not seem like it was that long ago. Time stands still for many.

  • but...the mullet HAS to go!!!!

  • i love this song!!!! LOL the guy looks like Neil Patrick Harris

  • do any of you realize how old this song actually is? Good to hear from some of you younger folk appreciating this song for what it was! Thank you!

  • @wdharveyoicu i have loved this song since i heard it in an old 80s teen rebel movie called baby love. that movie and this song are my favorites

  • @wdharveyoicu I like this song, I´m not very young but I 1st knew this song in the 90s when it was released in cd, Brian Hyland´s back catalog is rich, he has an interesting repertoir.-

  • @wdharveyoicu “Ginny come Lately" 1962 written by Gary Geld/Peter Udell

  • great song keep it up dude

  • a blast from the past gr8

  • brilliant

  • one of the best oldies thanks for posting

  • sorry mate I have met the guy at one of his concerts and I'm sure he has not had a facelift-remember that he's not that old-about 60 -he was very young when he started out -a very nice and talented man-donna

  • @odonna17 well with a voice like his he could sing me to sleep anytime he wants..i think hes a very handsome and talented man

  • I agree with odonna17 - and maybe my math is off but wasn't this concert in 1988 and if he was born in 1943, wouldn't that make him only 45 years old? I don't know about you guys, but I don't think he was ready for a face lift - now in 2009 he would be closer to 60 but so what?

  • Try 65 years old

  • I hear he is still does gigs! His voice has not aged, so this is a good thing - ah, age - need to stay young at heart and keep on dancing-do you know if he owns his own songs? You know how these guys didn't own their own music in the 1950's and 1960's, what a shame - a tough business, you had to love touring to make ends meet.

  • Thankyou!

  • I had this record on a 45rpm when I was a child. I remember being sick and playing it over and over again as my grandmother babysat. she never got tired of hearing it, and she liked this song. I didn't even believe I'd be able to find it ANYWHERE!!! (My mother has the 45 in her collection right now...I intend on getting it back!...this was 35 years ago!)

  • Very Nice Blast From The Past !!!! Great Rock And Roll Will Never Die !!!! Thank You Very Much For The Upload !!!!

  • How right you are!! Trying to eliminate true Rock 'n Roll would be as rediculously impossible as electing Charles Manson as the pope!! I saw Brian several years ago right around this same time of the year. There were a number of stars performing that night at Music Hall in Cincinnati. It was an extremely sad night--several hours prior to the show and not far from Music Hall, 2 Cincinnati Police Officers were brutally executed by a real lunatic. Our town was in serious mourning.

  • Each and every one of the performers expressed their sincere condolences at our town's loss. I really thought that was a straight-from-the -heart class act on behalf of the musicians.

  • Mar Kjartansson I reiterate my before comment Nice Song Yes..one of the Oldie goldie

  • Great song. Love Brian Hyland!

  • great post, Reine72! thanks, jeanette - slumbers2 - for sharing!! five stars!

    david

  • not bad ...but an oldie goldie..

  • So wonderful song

  • Oh my gosh...! My tears and jaws almost dropped...! This is another song my girlfriend sang to me when we first met in 1972. We have stayed wonderfully married and she is now granny to two beautiful toddlers. I am really happy to hear this again. Thanks very much Reine72 for sharing.

  • Just great!

  • I wish I still had the 45 record. The other side had sealed with a kiss.

  • Great song,Great voice!

  • I have literally not heard this song since 1972.

My friend had a crush on a guy named Jimmy and we used to sing "Jimmy come lately".

  • Thank you for sharing this, brilliant music, nothing today can match this.

  • I never heard this song. I remember his '60s songs. When did this come out? Great song.

  • Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini is the 1. Song from Brian

  • i'm totally amazed by his looks and voice.when you look at his catalog it is not been reconized.theres so many really quality tunes.the nice part about u-tube is anyone can post.the person who said he looks awful should post a pix from high school and a recent pix and let us judge.we are much better for this great music.i hope brian is ok in 2008

  • Join us on the Waverley out of Southend and up the Thames and we will play it for you!

  • Until I saw this clip I just never realised what a great song this is. It's definitely one of the better songs of the era. Love the guitars.

  • R. I thought I'd check out this video and even 46 years later, I still thought of you..D

  • As a postscipt, please do not suggest the entire West German football squad, it a well testified fact that Germans have appalling taste and very bad hair styles, this should be a whole new subgenre

  • Just to get you in the right direction a Mullet is a hair style which is short at the front and sides and long at the back. Brian has a classic. You could also check out 80's Brit footballers Chris Waddle and Glen Hoddle who also dabbled (unwisely) in the pop scene. Come on lets get those Mullet suggestions rolling in.

  • Looking good and still sounding great.

In The UK we call that style of hair a Mullet. Someone should do a compilation of great Mullets, can you think of a good one to start us off ? I think the actor Kurt Russell sported one for a while.

  • Great song. 26 years after "Sealed with the Kiss" Brian still looks amazing.

  • God Bless you to have posted this song.......I had been looking for this one all my life......thanks a ton

  • solche lieder werden heutzutage nicht mehr getextet...schade...

  • Már Kjartansson one of the best from the old day´s

  • Sealed with A Kiss is one of my all time favorites! I've loved this guy forever! Dear, dear Brian ~*~

  • A very under-rated performer! Saw him in concert, and he is a talented performer.

  • a johnny tilliston sound alike, especially the mushy tunes

  • a johnny tilliston sound alike, especially the mushy tunes

  • i remember watching this movie 'baby love' ages ago and this song featured in it.

  • We all age and change, but the real point is that he is a great singer and this song is one of the all time greats!!

  • A great song!!!

  • wow! i love this song... wish to took picture with him. This guys is our neighbor and he use to walk every afternoon from the post office to his homeeee....love his songssss

  • This can't be the Brian Hyland I know!! This man isn't half as good as the one who sang "Ginny come lately" in 1962.

  • not sure what Brian Hyland you know, but this is the original person who sang this song, sorry you can't understand when people age, sometimes their voices change

  • sorry, but the original song is from Albert West. Just search here for it and listen.

  • you misunderstood what I said, I said this is the original Brian Hyland, not that he is the original singer of this song. I was responding to someone who was in question if this was the fellow who sang back in the old days.

  • Ooops, you're right. Sorry !

  • Sorry, but I don't think so. Brian sang this song 1961 and Albert (from Rosmalen, NL) coverd it in 1973.

  • Is this guy Bryan Hyland junior? He is very good

  • cant hear this song often enough, THANK YOU.

  • you only have to smile!!!!

  • I could watch this OVER and OVER again. He is absolutely adorable! I have always Loved his looks and his voice. And he is truly a remarkably nice person too! I will never forget you Brian. Jeanne (Milwaukee)..1962

  • J'aimais beaucoup cettte chanson à l'époque. Cela me fait très plaisir de la réécouter. Merci

Maintenant, je vais en rechercher une de Joan Baez. Chouette soirée. Merci et au revoir...

  • Thanks for listing this it NEVER gets played on oldies shows and is by far my favorite Hyland song, Cheers!
