@SeriouslyShane I rode 125s for many years and then went to a 500. Got rid of the 500 and got a moped for work, then some shit bag stole it. I went straight to a ZZR600 and can handle the 100bhp beast no problem, but I have been riding for 15years so have the experience. I know people whom have got 600s for their first bike, but they were in their 30s. For a young person to go straight to a 400, I would be worried but then it depends how sensible you are. Insurance will be high.

When you have a restricted license you are allowed to ride bikes up to 25 kW. After two years of ownership of the restricted license you automatically upgrade to a non-restricted license.
Under the age of 21 you can only take an exam for the restricted license. If you're 21+ you can choose for yourself.

@HatedProudly It means it is restricted to 30ish horsepower with a governor and that way he can ride it with a lower grade license. Once he passes a motorcycle test the governor can be taken off and then it's full power, no longer restricted.

CBT and age 17 + you can ride up to 125cc. I've done the restricted liscence so i can ride any bike up to 33bhp for 2 years or until i'm 21 then any bike =)
Some 125's such as the aprilia rs125 can top 100+ with mods but most reach about 75-90. I'd recommend this bike if you're going for the restricted liscence but it also needs to be restricted. Ps sry for the essay
no it isnt dangerous to jump from a ccm 125 to a 400zxr, i jumped from a hyosung gt125 to the zxr 400 and i put a K&N air filter and a g-force racing can on it also, its a good first "big" bike, go for it PBSsucre and the song is "angel city - sunrise"
in my opinion, no ccm is dangerous, but crazy throttle. I had aprilia rs 125(2 stroke), now i ride on the zx6r, i haven't got big problem. If you feel, that your talent is ok, you can buy it, but the zxr 400 are usually crooked(most amount accidents on this bikes), if you want to learn ride, just buy suzuki gs 500;)sorry about english
@PBSucre I also had a 125ccm and i bought a zxr 400, in the beginning you should drive slow and try what you can handle, get faster and more safe with the time, but never try something silly you think you can not handle, also if some one tells you to do sth. sick.
If you slowly make your talents better, the zxr will "grow with you" means, you can also drive fast and nice, when you are better, just try it, but be carefull =)

Depends on your needs and taste. As an experianced biker, to be quite frank, I think bandits are aweful, especially the 600. The ZXR400 in unrestricted form is more powerful than the bandit 600 and looks better too. Plus you will get more praise from your mates if you get the ZXR, but probably laughed at if you get the bandit. Good points on the bandit, however, is cheaper insurance and lower running costs. If I needed a sensible bike for commuting, I would get a Honda
Excellent video. Well ridden ZXR and excellent scenery. I love the howl of the motor above 10000rpm. I am tempted to buy a ZXR400 but need a better job to pay for it.
another thing i've just bought one, will it make a difference to the bike to remove the air intake pipes (the things at ure tank i presume) and are they easy to remove?

i own a 1998 kawasaki zxr 400, its amazing bike, handles amazing the only draw back is at low speeds you find you have to change gears quite abit to keep it in its first power band, everything eles is amazing about it, if you get one or are thinking about geting one get some bridgestone batalax tyres for it, mine does 151mph, alrite for a 10 year old 400cc bike eh. cheers.

i need some advice on 400cc sports bikes! Im about to buy my first one but dont know which one i want to get. Its between the zxr, gsxr, fzr, vfr and cbr. Im 6"1 so would prefer one of the taller ones but would also like one with a bit of a punch. Anyone got any advice? Thanks

That is restircted/limited to 34hp, the full power is 65-70hp... Cause in some countrys 25kW/34hp is the maxium power that you can drive before you are 20-21 years old...
yh u also have no insurance if you change the can without stating or forget to put one lock on it but who cares you only live once so might aswell live on the edge

got zxr4 a few weeks ago..got restrictor fitted this week :( Must say NO difference in acceleration..still a flyer...havnt been flat out yet but I believe top end will only be about 110 mph :(
33bhp ZXR400s are still very quick, I can get mine screaming its bollocks off after hitting 3rd gear it seems to start to loose interest above 9,000rpm and subsiquent gears, max I've got out of it is about 105mph although mine does have the vinyl mph transfer as it's an SP import (SPs have a closer gear box and are faster accelerating but 10mph-ish slower) so I'd guess around 100mph-ish top as it's the standard for 33bhpers, it'll still get you into trouble though, safe riding
97 and instantly say bye bye to ur licence so dont bother installing restrictor just buy for certificate or dont buy and have an insurance were they dnt ask coz u go 110 u may as well go 150 in the eyes of the law
this is in the Netherlands.. you need a restrictor when you get your motorcycle driver license @ first three years of motor driving or at 18 years old.
great video i love watching this. but you should get it de-restricted. my ZXR has been 153 and all it has is a scorpion can. taking the restrictor off makes 1 hell of a difference believe me. 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds i got a time of and ran a 13.1 @ 118mph at santa pod :) safe riding
Yes, just remove the carburators from the cilinders and you will see a total of 4 plates with a small hole in it. Just take them out! No other actions required, very easy job!

Yeahhhhhhh. Wont see much more than 60Mph on a fully tuned road 50cc, mine gets about 55 but its a naked not sports. Tell any real biker your 50 does 67mph and they'll still be laughing when you've left in a cloud of 2 stroke smoke ;)
haha sorry dude but im on a rieju rs2 50 with arrow titanium pipe K&N style filter from the carb company (cotton mesh tho so better air flow) and bigger sprocket and upjetted and im getting 77 everytime i tell sum one they just say it is respectable for a fifty they dont laugh cause i live in the real world and know that is slow compared to them oh and these "real" bikers are probs the wimps who put it away for 9 out of 12 months

the ZXR!!! avoid the VFR and GSXR. the vfr is so small compared to the ZXR the GSXR has a fun top end but weak down low. my ZXR does 153mph :P

im doin my test soon hopefully and gettin 1 whats it like with the restricters in are they still quick dont no wether 2 have them as im not 21 yet.

got zxr4 a few weeks ago..got restrictor fitted this week :( Must say NO difference in acceleration..still a flyer...havnt been flat out yet but I believe top end will only be about 110 mph :(

33bhp ZXR400s are still very quick, I can get mine screaming its bollocks off after hitting 3rd gear it seems to start to loose interest above 9,000rpm and subsiquent gears, max I've got out of it is about 105mph although mine does have the vinyl mph transfer as it's an SP import (SPs have a closer gear box and are faster accelerating but 10mph-ish slower) so I'd guess around 100mph-ish top as it's the standard for 33bhpers, it'll still get you into trouble though, safe riding

97 and instantly say bye bye to ur licence so dont bother installing restrictor just buy for certificate or dont buy and have an insurance were they dnt ask coz u go 110 u may as well go 150 in the eyes of the law

this is in the Netherlands.. you need a restrictor when you get your motorcycle driver license @ first three years of motor driving or at 18 years old.

great video i love watching this. but you should get it de-restricted. my ZXR has been 153 and all it has is a scorpion can. taking the restrictor off makes 1 hell of a difference believe me. 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds i got a time of and ran a 13.1 @ 118mph at santa pod :) safe riding

Yes, just remove the carburators from the cilinders and you will see a total of 4 plates with a small hole in it. Just take them out! No other actions required, very easy job!

0 - 100 km/h in about 7 secs. Top speed aprox. 180 km/h. Not bad for the restriction to 25kw. Most restricted bikes perform less than that.
Without restriction top speed is 230 km/h (208 on GPS).

what my 50 does 67 mph so that is some were neer 170 kmph (dunno exact ) haha just get the sticker and certificate and dont install

Yeahhhhhhh. Wont see much more than 60Mph on a fully tuned road 50cc, mine gets about 55 but its a naked not sports. Tell any real biker your 50 does 67mph and they'll still be laughing when you've left in a cloud of 2 stroke smoke ;)

haha sorry dude but im on a rieju rs2 50 with arrow titanium pipe K&N style filter from the carb company (cotton mesh tho so better air flow) and bigger sprocket and upjetted and im getting 77 everytime i tell sum one they just say it is respectable for a fifty they dont laugh cause i live in the real world and know that is slow compared to them oh and these "real" bikers are probs the wimps who put it away for 9 out of 12 months
