  • Melodia simplesmente maravilhosa..

  • If only bugs bunny was Directing this.

  • This is a beautiful overture, and one of my favorites - fun to perform, as well! Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • i love that base @ 0:50 and i love the cello @ 1:13 those are my favorite and i can't stop thinking of bugs bunny when i hear this haha

  • This song is frickin hard to play. But gorgeous none the less.

  • Second cello looks jealous... ^_^

  • fuck the cartoons you dops ! it's rock 'n 'roll before your my time and yours

  • This is just ever so beautiful. Without the cartoon it's just so peaceful.

  • all males? where are the women musicians?

  • @tripoutking

  • Cellist is Wolfgang Herzer, my teacher :)

  • @emilation11 That's coooool! You have an AMAZING teacher!Does he ever play with you in lessons? :D

  • I actually first heard of this from the Bugs Bunny cartoon....but it is a great piece for certain.

  • @WolfkinNorthclaw Same! I keep seeing bugs in the green jacket conducting!

  • @WolfkinNorthclaw This from Bugs Bunny..."Poet and Peasant" from Animaniacs (the "Potty Emergency" episode)...The use of all three parts to the William Tell overture in various other Warner Bros. cartoons...

I miss the days of music like this in cartoons like that :)

  • @neobeethoven As do I, I wish Teletoon would put Bugs And Tweety back on again.

  • @neobeethoven Yes, Bugs Bunny, in "Baton Bunny" with the Warner Bros. Symphony Orchestra. (c) 1958, directed by Chuck Jones and Abe Levitow.

  • @WolfkinNorthclaw That's where I heard this too! From 'Baton Bunny'.

  • Que beleza de interpretação. O violoncelista é fantástico !!!!!

    Mobileje do Brasil

  • This is the music that was used in a Daffy Duck cartoon when he's trying to escape a little man chasing him with his draft notice. The finale is when he jumps on a rocket to escape that goes to hell and the little man is still chasing him.

  • And, as a Tubist, it's a blast to play!! :)

  • @tubaguy52 Agreed! A bit rough at the end but tons of fun!

    american barn dance

  • were playing dis pieace and i love it im glad its not that hard

  • The principal cellist of Vienna Philharmonic played the cello solo part of "Morning, Noon & Night Overture" by Franz von Suppe was Franz Bartolomey.

  • @alan1963 This was definitely not Franz Bartolomey played the cello.

  • Franz Von Suppe is my hero! He was a musical genius.

  • haha WheaalMoa3n what a band geek

  • I'm so excited to play this in band.

  • I have to play this piece in a orchestra! I play violin! It is extremely hard! I'm only in middle school and my afterschool orchestra expects us to play it perfectly!

  • lol middle school. that's even worse than an ambitious highschool.

why must the teacher's butcher great pieces by giving it to unready kids

  • Actually ours is a transposition (no strings in band). It was made for a college he used to conduct at, and he thinks we are ready for it.

  • Wow, the maestro is so energetic at the end....awesome... :D

  • OOOH i love this movement so much! love the way it played fast at the end such passion, such rhythm lol words cannot describe my absolute respects for this <3

  • I absolutely love watching Riccardo. He puts more energy into conducting than Niagara Falls NY Power Station can create in a day.

  • GRANDE MAESTRO RICARDO!!!!

  • me too 10x

  • Omg, thank you thank you thank you! I have been trying to find out what this piece is from Bugs Bunny for YEARS!

  • @sonokosuzuki I'm pretty sure Disney used it also for their "Concert on the Green" cartoon. Starred Mickey and Donald and the rest. Haven't seen it in years, but it's the one where the wind blows the entire orchestra up into a large tree. Fell in love with this piece then (as a child). Long time ago...

  • can anybody tell me the name of the cellist?thanks!

  • @mingweicello have you figured out who the cellist is? if so can you please tell me who it is!

  • whoops, forgot Mickey Mouse did a version of this too.

  • Now I know where Bugs Bunny got it from!

  • Isn't it funny that there are perhaps two generations who first came to know this from watching Bugs Bunny?

  • is this from japan?

  • I teared up a bit at the cello solo . . . . so good

  • Che emozione risentirlo! Era il mio disco di gara quando facevo pattinaggio artistico...

  • the cello solo is beautiful (:

    ¡ bravo!

  • wow... all i can say is wow! amazing overture!

  • i love playing this form of art

  • i loved it!

  • amazing conductor

  • Funny that so many people know this music through a cartoon... Show's the power of that combination! I know it through an old Decca LXT LP with Georg Solti conducting it.

    Greetings! Rolf

You can find me on Twitter as @otterhouse

  • In fact the first time I heard Franz von Suppe was in the 80´s whit Bugs Bunny, and that was my inspiration to become Orchestal Director. One of the greatest Overtures all time!

  • The first time I heard him was the Mickey Mouse cartoon "Symphony Hour" where he conducts Goofy, Donald, et al in the "Light Cavalry" Overture. LOL. Awesome.

  • the cellist is definitly one of the best playing I have ever heard. including all the great masters.

  • I dont understand why Suppe is so underperformed his music is so great!!!

  • With all due respect, just listen to what Maestri Barbirolli, Karajan, Paray, Solti, Henry Krips, and Beecham bring to this marvelous music; you will instantly hear what is missing here. I wish someone would upload any of those recordings to YouTube!.

  • Ah! Nothing like classicaly music to purify the soul.

  • @Neilgram324 - You said it kiddo! Them's my thoughts too, lol.

  • In one word : GREAT !!! Es lebe Franz Van Suppé !!!

  • Well done, well done mro :D

  • Heard on Baton Bunny with Bugs Bunny.

  • ok that doesnt work

  • seriously, i love it!!!

    kudos to FRANZ VON SUPPE!

    kudos to RICCARDO MUTI!!!

    kudos to VIENNA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA!!!

  • es la musica de un cartoon de bugs bunny, jaja, pero muy buena

  • that should be vienna's national anthem.

  • good thing vienna isn't a country

  • franz von suppe is one of the best composers of all time! can't imagine how he's being forgotten...

  • The genleman next to the soloist looks jealous.

I'd be too. That's one hell of a solo; and the soloist definitely played it well.

  • Musikvereinsaal in Wien!

  • the sound of that hall is very very great!!!

  • whats the name of this orchestra?

  • Who here also thinks the same as me... The bass part of most orchestra's (not all) is the thing that makes you feel that bubbly feeling, and also 'makes' the music. Basically you like the bass. One of my favourite pieces this.

  • I played this in symphonic band this year!!

I love the part at 7:59 omg

  • Baton bunny's Theme song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Interesting orchestral format, by the way.

  • This music totally kicks ass!!!

  • my brother plays this song in his highschool band and i think it kicks ass

  • It is one of my favorite Suppe's overtures too. Thank you.

  • mine too.
