It must be the A1 - CAN YOU DIG IT? (STEVE PROCTOR REMIX) but not the extended mix above? Definitely blue and yellow crosses no pink or black on the sleeve.
the 'can you dig it yeah' mix was slower and is also on youtube - unless it's another mix of that.
It's not that either. It's annoyed me for years - wish I could find the original record. I think it was the yellow and blue crosses and it was the first play on side 2. Maybe.
But honestly, it's neither of the ones on youtube, i can't mistake what i listened to every saturday before I went out and also got played at the club i went to.
I had this remixed on 12" same cover but the crosses were blue and yellow (from memory). Can anyone help - I've looked and looked. Can't find it anywhere, not even in my parents loft. The version was similarish to this but fizzier.
@wotucudavwon cheers for responding. Yes, I thought it was one of those two, but it's not. There must have been another mix on the 12" single also by Steve Proctor - it's all I can think. I loved it and they used to play it every Saturday night in Aberdeen at the Pelican around '91 I'm guessing. The place used to take off.
@tweedy151 I'm intrigued. Are you sure its not the 'Can U Dig It Yeah' mix (side B1 on the 12")? That was the mix hammered in the clubs at the time. Looked on ebay and the sleeve is blue and yellow too (I was bored at work!). Only other mix I can find from '91 is the 'Vocal Mix' but I think its the same as the 'Steve Proctor Mix'.
fairly sure this version uses a digital drum track because you can beat match it when mixing with other Indie tunes of the era with digital drum loops...
Amazing lead solo, it sounds like steve hillage or something. Wish it went on for longer.
