  • Hey, don't hate the 1%, join them! Hating those who get rich from the health insurance industry is what keeps you poor and sick. Right Lee?

  • this is WHY a lot of politicians are AGAINST more government 'cause all they care and give a shit about is LOTS of money

  • It's also weird to hear people defending a bill they have never read and are completely clueless about.

  • @mytuber81 99% of Americans don't read the bills that are going through congress. In fact most Americans probably lack the educational level to even understand what these bills say. Most Americans rely on the media for all of their political information. If Glenn Beck says it, it must be so.

  • @samot8728 I agree that a lot of Americans don't understand what a lot of the bills that go through congress are. I dont agree that most Americans believe every word Glenn Beck says. You are directing your comment towards conservatives, but you fail to address the fact that most of the main stream media is left of center.

  • @mytuber81 Most Americans don't believe every word Glenn Beck says (I never said that in my comment) but a very dangerous minority does. The media, just like every other area of society dominated by highly educated people is liberal or left of center. Yet, no mainstream news channel manipulates information to the extent that FoxNews those, all while claiming they are FAIR and BALANCED. The Acorn controversy is a prime example.

  • @samot8728 "Most Americans rely on the media for all of their political information. If Glenn Beck says it, it must be so." - If you didn't mean most you should have written a minority.

What about Acron's corruption was manipulated?

  • @mytuber81 I meant exactly what I wrote. Most Americans do rely on the media for information. That is what I said and then gave an example of one media personality who exerts a lot of influence on public opinion. Where in my comment did I say that most Americans believe what Glenn Beck says? Show me.

FoxNews used its airtime to give coverage to the supposed "pimp and hoe" who went undercover to investigate acorn, produced a highly edited documentary that . . .

  • @mytuber81 2) later investigations concluded that totally misrepresented Acorn. By that time, the damage to acorn was already done. What about the lady who was fired from the Dep of Agriculture after a conservative blogger leaked another edited video that made her sound like a racist. The media (FoxNews and other channels that are suppose to be liberal) ran with the video without verifying its source. Result = lady gets fired unjustly.

  • @mytuber81 (3) FoxNews has also contributed to the strong anti-Hispanic sentiment that exists in this country. All studies show that Latinos are not any more likely to commit crimes than the rest of the population and that US-born Hispanics are for the most part English dominant. Yet right wing personalities like Bill O'reily, Glenn Beck, and Lou Dobbs have made Americans believe that Latinos are here to kill, rape, and rob them while at the same time refusing to assimilate. Now it's muslims.

  • @mytuber81 FoxNews has the constitutional right to cover whatever it wants and in whatever way it wants. But is it ethical for them to claim they are fair and balanced? The media's coverage of news has real consequences for people in this country. FoxNews is not the only culprit but their rhetoric has been the most racist and propagandistic of any network. You think it's a coincidence how hate crimes against Latinos and Muslims have increased?

  • It's weird to hear people defending private insurance companies against competition from a public plan

  • none of you idiots even know what is in this piece of shit. dumb fucks!

  • Wouldn't it be easier to just let everyone join Medicare rather than impose this tax with all the mandated fines? Insurance is not the same as healthcare, in fact, insurance is usually an obstacle to medical treatment.

  • Because it will eventually become a socialistic entitlement that all taxpayers will have to pay for. There is no way the rich can pay for all these record deficits. Government can tell you how much to pay, who will get coverage, who wont, they are not answerable to ANYONE. Recently, 56% in a recent poll said they didnt think govt could do pub option well.

Need to change things like tort reform before doing radical changes. BTW, 20states have passed 10thamendment laws to oppose it! HAH!

  • A public option would be the absolute worst thing that could happen to this country since 911. I'm stunned how anybody could be in favor of this in any shape or form.

  • WHHHHHHHHHHAT!!! LOL... you are kidding right ? Public option is a choice for Americans ...HOW iS THAT WORSE THAN 9-11? MY GOD there is so much ignorance in this country... private insurance companies have been practicing and illegal business since the 40's and your telling me a public option is BAD for this country ? Insuring that millions of our countrymen and women have health care is BAD FOR the country... WTF is wrong with you ....

  • funkyflights, you obviously are the ignorant one. Public option will end private insurance companies, leaving us with only government run healthcare. That's would be a total nightmare for most people, especially those who have good health care now and don't want it lessened. This will add even more to the insane national debt. Millions more people thrown into the mix for coverage will result in rationed health care. Less doctors and nurses will go into their respective fields. The list goes on.

  • OK ..... so your saying the public option will END PRIVATE insurance..... WHY ? because Americans chose the better deal ? Because families finally had a choice other than the rip off called managed care...?? IF private insurance wants to stay in health care then there gonna have to follow the rules which is something there NOT USED TO....

  • @utfooldschool

Well I stand against the Insurance lobbyists. I am pro-public option.

  • Certainly the best way to do away with all the lobbying is to get the federal government much more involved in healthcare.

  • It will also put a lot of smaller businesses out of business, since employers will be required to cover ALL employees. It will add to the unemployment rate, with those businesses going under and other businesses operating with less employees, due to the employer being required to insure all employees. All this in turn will drive up prices on EVERYTHING for the consumer. The whole scenario is a recipe for higher taxes and a lower standard of quality for living, health care, jobs and beyond.

  • So let me get this straight.... your for private insurance companies with NO RULES... so they can continue to fuck America over .... you do realize since the 1940's there above the anti trust laws right ? You do realize there a monopoly ? you do realize they discriminate and raise premiums without any regulations or reason.... They also deny payment when people like yourself think your covered and all snugly and cozy with great health care.... WAKE UP!! this has been and American nightmare!!

  • OK ..... your talking to Mr small business... my Uncle owns a store with 40 employees... HE CANT AFFORD TO PAY the outrages premiums for his employees.... let alone for himself!! he was paying 1,400 a month for his own policy.... YES THAT"S CORRECT... ask him about a government option.... HE"S ALL FOR IT.... private insurance is KILLING SMALL BUSINESSES .... along with our economy..

  • I agree the system needs fixed, but to completely throw it out and let the government run and regulate it is complete insanity. The government option will run in the red to the tune of BILLIONS every year. You think insurance companies can do that? Of course not. They have to turn a profit or they go under. The government plan can run in the hole and will, so it won't take long for all private insurance companies to die off. Obama knows this and has even stated such. He's all about single payer

  • Another thing to keep in mind.... We spend 1.5 Trillion every year on our defense.... THAT is staggering.... and to here all these so called CONGRESS men and women cry about 1 trillion over 10 years is a real slap in the face to allot of Americans when you consider even a SMALL cut in our Military spending can fix this problem... 16 Trillion over 10 years in our Military budget.... I don't hear republicans bitching about those figures... kinda sad

  • What you stated makes absolutely no sense. Are you telling me the millions of part-time employees without health care right now will benefit their employers by having the employer be required to cover them? All that will do is eliminate millions of jobs, since employers simply cannot afford to cover them. This reduces jobs and increases prices for the consumers. This is blatantly obvious, so how ANYBODY cannot see it baffles me.

  • I don't know the specifics of the current house and senate versions, but there are versions that benefit one type of small business or another. The small business lobby will try to get certain size businesses exempted from providing private insurance - putting their employees on the public option. This will alleviate any pressure for the business to provide health care, and so yes, they're all for transferring those costs to taxpayers.

  • Actually it makes perfect sense.... if your business makes over 500,000 dollars a year then you must cover your employees... BUT keep in mind premiums will be WAY down under the new laws.... NOW let me make one thing clear... I dont agree with that part of the bill ... I think it's BS to force anyone to buy health insurance ... and I think it's BS to force companies to cover people... ME personally am for a single payer for all Americans... but we have to take what we can get...

  • Something has to be done.... this countries health care system is the biggest SCAM in USA history ... we cant continue with the way it is... private insurance companies are laughing while flying there private jets... LETTING Americans die and picking and choosing who they insure because of risk factors.... WTF... this system is HORRIBLE...

  • We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all HUMANS are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable RIGHTS, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness..."

Single Payer or die broke, H.R. 676!

  • UN? twelve times the number of scientists the UN has disgree with the propaganda 52 of them helped to get started but turned against the UN...they are the yard stick for brains yanno

  • President Obama should be praised for offering healthcare to all Americans. Great man.

  • It is kind of amazing some "people" think health costs are like buying a car or any other commercial proposition (eg: all the insurance co-sponsored posts on Youtube by varying "people"). You can plan to buy a car or a house: it's your own responsibility and your money allocation--but you can't plan a medical affliction. Not the same. I simply note one anti-health plan person on Ytube had her two fave videos as a) a revolver shooting into a tank, and b) a clip of Milton F'man on "Greed". True!!

  • final comment- it costs a billion dollars to get a drug approved by the fda. What is the fda? Food and drug administrion. It is a governmental regulatory instituion. If the gov't would reduce the cost to pharm. co.'s then that would reduce the cost you and i pay. Pharm. co's are one of the biggest $ makers in the country and the drugs they sell are so overpriced b/c of gov't regulation. When drug patents where out, generics replace them which are cheaper. Same process repeats...

  • Like I said in my comment below that somehow made it on this page, even if experts read it on cnn (which I find somehow hard to believe) cnn which is supposed to be bi partisan is very biased against republicans. Health care is supported mainly by the democratic party. If the democratic party is for health care and cnn is biased against republicans then they are going to try and convince the public about the +'s in the bill while ignoring the -'s

  • Why? Because they are making an investment in a human resource. Wall street has hijacked congress and the exec branch. Money makes decision not politicians morals or ethics. People supporting the health care plan are ignorant assholes. I completely agree our system is messed up and something needs to be changed however, nobody including Obama knows all the details involved in the 5000 page bill.

  • Dude stop copying and pasting .... debate the issues.... and stop supporting private insurance... public option is needed ...

  • If your talking to me, I didn't copy and paste anything. I haven't even seen this video. Thats really weird that my comment ended up on this video. OK, lets debate the issue. Blackman- It doesn't matter if experts on cnn have read the bill. Have you read the bill? The bill is so long b/c it is full of beauricratic nonsense. We spend billions every year treating emergency cases for illegal immigrants. That could reduce costs and bring national health care costs down.

  • That is not true, experts on CNN have read it.

  • low rates and hence we are going to have socialized medicine. Mark my words. Guaranteed 100%. What's going to happen is health care is going to have to be rationed meaning if grandma gets cancer, she's basically fucked. Same scenerio in great britain. Business week, The Huffington post and Ralph Nader have objective info which shows Obama has met with insurance co. executives and made a deal to keep corporate profits sky high. Corporations funded obama and mccains campaigns.

  • STOP IT!!!!! grandma is already on socialized health care with medicare....Is she fucked because of that ? NO!!! you have to stop spreading that pathetic lie ... medicare is NOT going to change and grandma is NOT going to be denied care ... absolutely 100 percent ridiculous that you even type those words.... your hopeless to even debate the issue with IF you believe that nonsense..... Medicare does NOT deny the elderly treatment and Medicare will NOT change ....

  • I am not claiming it is specifically in the bill saying "the elderly will be denied care if they have a fatal disease". My point was that b/c more people are going to be covered and doctors salaries are going to be lower it is going to cause a shortage in supply with an increase in demand. Less supply and more demand means less quality care for the overall public. B/c of this inevitable situation, it is very possible that grandma will be denied. Its not nonsense, its a reasonable prediction.

  • I do not understand this mind set. Right now the number is close to 50 million denies! Its mostly hard working people getting denied healthcare simply because they do not have enough money.

And even if you can afford insurance, they are looking for an excuse to deny you help.

With a public option, sure there might be some queues, but at least you are in a queue. No one will be denied.

And It's just an option, don't like it? Just keep what you've got!

It makes no sense at all to oppose this..

  • I am not aware of the exact statistic of people who are uninsured but if it is 50 mil, there are well over 300 mil in the country so it is a smaller proportion. Your right, insurance co's higher people to audit customers looking for any excuse to drop them or not pay for their operations or whatever. It does make sense to oppose it but ill get to it in a minute. No one will be denied, true. But quality of care will deteriorate and the national deficit is not going to be...

  • reduced. The administration is realeasing a forecast for the next 10 years saying deficit spending is going to be 10 trillion, Regardless, economically all that is going to happen is taxes are going to rise for everyone. B/c it is a governmental program, ask yourself who is the gov't? Its us. Everyone in the country. So, with worse quality care, people who want to keep their current plan are still going to have to pay for the other one in taxes. Private insurance co's will be...

  • slowly dissolved from the system. It does make sense. Look, the 50 million people are the problem that we are trying to insure. We need to work on getting them coverage and not everyone who already has it. Costs need to be dropped. There are a lot of unneccsary costs, we need to find a way to lower them not at the expense of everyone as a wholes pockets. Obama isn't using the gov't plan. He has his own. If it is going to be improved why wouldn't he take it?

  • Medicare is a single payer government system. The elderly will kill to keep it. It is more than a public option to many elderly people, it is the only option for health care.

  • Because its in the bill that you cannot, this is what they tell you bt thats not in the bill, its been fought and denied, check it out, Rep Scalise shows this in the bill

    watch?v=VVhnPhSsKy8

Folks are not against other people having healthcare there are reasons that arent sadistic in nature lol

  • Lol, it said nothing in there that you can't keep what you have, UNLESS what you have treats you horribly. Also I love that they use the word czar, scare mongering....

The fact is that you are defending a statue quo that is a disaster, USA's health care system is an embarrasement to the western would.

Every politician in the republican party, and many in the democratic party are 100% owned by the ONE interest that would loose on this bill. In Europe we have a word for it, its called corruption

  • No it doesnt he adresses the fact that its despite whether one likes the healthcare one has.

Yes Obama was the first to speak of Czars your right he might be fearmongering, just recently the whitehouse said stop calling them that. He's calling them what they are.

My freinds in the UK differ with you

    Canada's healthcare is in trouble

    watch?v=mvmcWRURuyE

Candians who are insured through their healthcare plan come here to the U.S and the uninsured here in the U.S go there

  • Oh...funny how every conservative "have a friend" in Europe that says its terrible. I think its funny because I live there, and I know whats real and whats not, I do not know one single person that would swap for the healthcare you have in the US.

I could link you a number of videos showing that, and you could try the a thing called facts. Try some of the UN lists for living standards and see how good you rank, and its actually especially bad considering you spend much more money that everyone.

  • LOL I take it you stl beliece in the right/left bs lmao! Im not even a voter, love how you people are always trying to label folks, If I did vote I'd vote for Dennis Kucinich (democrat) and Ron Paul (republican) equally, I would look at the issues they tackle not the pork traps lol

I have two freinds, ones one a freind on youtube I have known for years another is a freind from a form, and the closet one is my half sister (and her husband). People can have freinds in other countries

  • I'm sorry, to hear. But when you completely disregard the UN and WHO as bullshit it is hard to take you seriously.

No system is perfect, but the problems you can find with nationalized healthcare and really small problems when compared to the problems with your current system!

You want to talk about victims and death panels? Yea lets! Since 2001, 22.000 thousand Americans have died directly or indirectly because they lacked healthcare, not counting those getting fucked by the priv death panels

  • Where did I say what you infer? When you completely disregard Agenda 21 of the UN its really much much harder to take you seriously.

I got you beat, over 150,000 people a year die from PROPERLY PRESCRIBED DRUGS, not to mention ones that arent, or people having things left inside of them after surgery, malpractice and the like.

Yea LETS! lol Your so out there

  • I disagree, not disregard, what about WHO, are those all wrong too?

How can you compare those two statistics? First of all that argument works more pro gov HC than against it. Because wrong/unnecessary treatment is a huge problem in priv healthcare. But as I stated above, that is not the main issue here!

325.000 people die each year from SCA in the US alone, witch makes it the leading cause of death. However that is a social issue much more related to lifestyle than of a priv vs gov HC debate.

  • The damn sky is falling with WHO, mandatory vaccinations fr the world over a handful of deaths? Heck the regular flu kills half a million worldwide 36,000 within the U.S alone...Who is the head of the vaccine plan? Look up how many homeless people died in Polland from the little swine flu experiment on them (as well as how many severely disabled for life... guess who has the job for US :D LOVELY!

I compared them because with or without its a dumb thing to think more folks will live longer lol

  • The threat of swine flu was never one to the individual, if you thought so you misunderstood. It is actually less dangerous than the "ordinary flu". However, it is enough to keep you in bed, and it is EXTREMELY contagious. Witch means that if it get out of control it could in a worst case scenario paralyze a whole nation.

If half the country is in bed you got a serious problem. and thats what the panic was about.

  • Continued..You appear to think Im against healthcare for those who arent covered Im not, Im just not for the option on the table

    Whats SCA?

Gov healthcare, I got it lol, took two years to get upper teeth after my teeth needed to be removed, they have ONE endodontist on ONE day a week....root canal in the back? In PAIN? tough, hes in on mondays, your on your own. Got a bad combination of backpain pills once myself through my doc, thankfully it didnt kill me

  • Well, you defend the status quo with great confidence. Refusing to believe that other western nations do it better. So if you think you have the best HC in the world, I would assume you think the uninsured are ok.

14.000 Americans drop their insurance every day, adding to the 46 million without it. How do you think their dental plan is?

How can you complain about waiting lines in gov HC, when the priv HC cant even guarantee you a line at all. If they dont get rich, you get no line! tough...

  • Defend the what where and when? Im not refusing to believe something, and its not what I said about about the uninsured, you are a twister of words, you even put them into peoples reply boxes lol nice try.

Dental plans suck, are you saying dental is included in this healthcar plan? Even when I had dental I just pulled, couldnt afford not to, its not some gift to have it.

Two year lines, Im only saying welcome to my world.

By law they must treat every patient who shows up, no line?

  • I don't understand what you are talking about? Did I get you wrong?

Well straighten it out then, you cant just say everything I horrible/wrong and not have claim to have made a stand:) There are currently two options, and you seem to not want the public one, then it must mean you want the other, no?

Anyway whats your proposal to this problem?

Two year lines sound horrible, but why didn't you just pay to get it done in the private?

I forgot to answer in my last reply, SCA is a heart attack.

  • Again, where did I say what you infer? I dont think the sky is falling.

There were amendments introduced and declined, they need to compromise on those

I'm on disability cant always afford to pay and I refuse to get credit, my choice, so I waited, Im just saying if folks want to wait years for teeth or limbs let them know it before they get so damn excited as if this is the answer for them.

  • Your on disability and your complaining about a government option ? Look no system is perfect but were in America and we can fix this thing... I prefer a single payer which is NOT free but is reasonable for families ... right now private insurance is killing this countries economy with outrages premiums and denials of care... which is KILLING Americans... we need a public option AND laws in place so private insurance will follows the rules...

  • Continue... I could also link tons more videos but I dont percieve you as too genuine...lol UN? Bet you havent a clue about the UN's "Agenda 21" try looking that up lol

Im a disabled veteran, I had to have my upper teeth removed, I needed to wait TWO YEARS for them on VA care.

Fmy freinds daughter had BOTH (sorry, it is what it is) a prolapsed rectum AND vagina, she was told the soonest was 3 months to get in, but they will try to sqeeze her in in 2 weeks with her insides hanging out f her

  • Don't mean to offend anyone, just speaking my mind. I could be wrong though. Thats why people debate issues.

  • debating the issue is good..... were all in this together.... good stuff

  • 1/2

I understand those concerns, but I do not share them.

    Regarding the cost:

For those who cant afford private its a win win, that we can agree on.

Yes, the ones who want to keep their private, will also be taxed. However, if we can take those money from somewhere else, lets say IRAQ!!!! :) Then the total tax we pay shouldn't go up, it should only be redirected from military to healthcare.

I agree that a public option slowly will kill the private option. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

  • 2/2

Well, that depends on whether the new system is good or bad? If you look at the other western countries, our allies. I'm talking about Canada, Australia, Japan, UK, Norway and all the others... They all have free public healthcare. And its state of the art, they have the same shit there, as we got here.

The ONLY thing I have found worse is that there is sometimes queue, but that only happens on non life threatening problems.

And in my book, covering all for free makes up for that tenfolds.

  • Also, thanks for a healthy debate:)

  • Can one single person in this country including Obama explain all the details involved in the health care plan? The answer is no. They don't post the bill online. People just think its a single pay system which it is however only a minority of the country doesn't have health care so there should be no reason the gov't should establish their own system. What's going to end up happening is the insurance companies are not going to be able to compete with the govt's...

  • People on CNN read it.

  • We need the public option. I hope President Obama will make it happen. The insurance companies will screw us without it.

And to you blue dog democrats, you are traitors. Get back to your democratic roots.

  • Exactly blackman4544.... WE THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR CHANGE.... WE THE PEOPLE WANT A PUBLIC OPTION!!!!!!! the insurance companies will continue to rape the American people without it ......

  • Thank you. Without the public option, health care reform is not truly health care reform.

  • Public option is dead. hahahaha!!!!!!

Barack Hussein Obama is the biggest fraud in history.

  • i agree

  • Comment removed

  • I have two things to ask anyone opposed to a public option.

    1) Are you OK with continuing to turning over your annual 'raise' to the Health Insurance 'provider' (as you've been doing for many years)?

    2) Do you have a family member who has been unable to obtain health insurance?

If they yes to # 1 or no to #2 they probably don't 'get' the need for a major change in the health care system.

  • Two great questions - and the first one isn't something I've heard people talk about - okay if I steal it for a video?

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Absolutely. Use any comments that help!

Your videos are just what we need!

BTW...I posted my first ever youtube video on this issue... Urging people to post window signs on their cars ... but I'm now concerned that someone may block their driving views... and sure don't want anyone to have an accident. Your videos tell me you may be just the person to ask this...Is it possible to add a text to the images containing the car window sign...and warn people to position the sheet of paper carefully?

  • Go to Edit Video and use the "Annotations' feature to add post text

  • now i had to respond to this

    1. about turning over my annual raise to health insurance provider. what about giving half my pay check to the government in taxes?

    2. no becuse i pay cash for my medical bills becuse you will save tons for the doctor to not have to deal with insuance.

basicly what im saying is im all for health reform i do think its needed. but government is not the answer and noone can be deluded enough to think the government is out to help people.

  • Let Congress sign up first. I guarantee you they will have no part in this plan. Either way people are going to pay for healthcare and there is no guarantee this plan will be "affordable". Look at the VA and how they treat Vietnam vets with chronic illness. If you lose an arm we'll fix that but don't become a drain to the system if you have prolonged illness. Look at history folks.

  • Seriously - at least TRY to understand issues before you write about them.

Congress IS signed up. They already HAVE 'a public option'. The issue is for the REST of us.

    Jebsus.

  • THE HYPROCRISY !!

The Republicans have brought 163 amendment to the proposed Democratic Health Care Bill & still they (Republicans) announced that they will offer NO SUPPORT for the passage of the Bill !!

Why should the Democrats accept or even attempt to pass this new "waterdowned" proposal, if no cooperation is ever expected from the right-wing GOP? The same thing happened with the Stimulus proposal.

WE THE PEOPLE need a STRONG Health Care Bill from the Super Majority Senate.

  • It is both the Republicans and Democrats creating the problem. The left right paradigm is a fallacy. Both Reps and Dems are equally far to the left.

You obviously do not understand economics or a pyramid scheme when you see it. You do understand that under the Federal Reserve which is no more a part of the govt than Fed Ex, will use all that money they printed as leverage on the American govt when we are speaking about the stimulus? It has strings attached. Yay economic slavery!

  • two types lies in the world

    Lies

    Statistics

Don't believe numbers that are thrown with no citing of their source. And please for Gods Sake don't agree on something just because it seems everyone does.

Whatever happened to doing something because one knew within them that it was right.

Your side on this issue, is from my POV irregardless. As long as one can say "I studied the issue, gathered together facts and observations from both sides, and then made my opinion" then i can respect that

  • I love your video - I want to make one to send to Sen Blanch Lincoln who seems to not give a crap about the Public Option.. a STRONG public option. Not some watered down thing they are trying to do to shut us all up.

  • My personal physician is a great guy with a two office practice in the DC area. He hires three RNs and two lab technicians at his two offices. He also hires 6 full time office staff- two work the front desk and the rest do nothing but process insurance claims, call for clearances and dispute rejections. He has to hire more non-medical people than medical people. How does that make any sense? So to pay for those salaries everything has to be more expensive than the true cost of care.

  • If we had politicians that had a pair of balls and they weren't "bought and paid for" by special interests/lobbyists we could get things done. Thats the bottom line!

  • There are several groups now between me and my doctor. Right now 2 middlemen are playing tennis with ONE of the charges from the ER. They have both denied the responsibility for `14 months now. The rest was paid last year, lolol

  • Our Government is Archaic in the way they treat healthcare. I have daughters in Norway and Ireland that get fantastic health care. Do Not tell me Socialized medicine does NOT work. IT DOES!

  • Yes but SOMEBODY has to pay for it and it is via STEALING from the taxpayer. Its theft pure and simple. You may as well put a gun to my head and demand money that I myself slaved for. If I don't pay my taxes that is exactly what would happen. No thanks!

  • MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN---PRIVATE & PUBLIC---HEALTH CARE:

    PRIVATE:

Places the INSURANCE COMPANY between YOU & YOUR DOCTOR. The Insurance Company DECIDES what treatment they'll authorize & pay for, or what claim they'll deny & cancel the policy.

    PUBLIC:

Your DOCTOR is the one WHO DECIDES what treatment YOU require. NO profit involved. NO more red tape. NO begging with Insurance Co. for approval.

All SENATORS have a GOVERNMENT run PUBLIC PLAN !!

See Details on my Profile Page.

  • I secong this motion here...libro. Tks for sharing it

  • Problem is the US is NOT a democracy it is a Republic.

And yes, Senators are corrupted THIEVES. You also pay for their gasoline and you pay their salary after they leave office. So whats your point?

  • KaptainKaka ... your post is totally irrelevant to the subject matter.

  • No you just fail to see the parallels.

  • The truth of the matter is that this country is broke, and is broke because the politicians do not know how to handle money responsibly because they have the Federal Reserve at hand to print fiat money on a whim. At the rate we are at now it will take some 1.7 million years to pay off our national debt, if someone threw a dollar in a big pit every second on the second. What makes you think these people know how to spend YOUR money better than YOU do? They are the reason for the fuckups!

  • PUBLIC HEALTH PLAN:

ALL Americans are now paying in HIDDEN TAXES the cost for medical care for the "UNINSURED" who must use the Emergency Room.

With President Obama's Health Plan ALL AMERICANS will be covered. These HIDDEN TAXES will disappear.

WHY is a ... "PUBLIC GOVERNMENT PLAN" ... good enough for all REPUBLICAN SENATORS in Congress ... but NOT good enough for ALL AMERICANS who choose this option over a Private Plan??

AGAIN we see the blatant REPUBLICAN LIES & HYPROCRISY !

  • The whole system needs overhauling.

  • what a great closing line

  • Can:

It's not a guess. The FEC requires all political donations be a matter of public record: Who gives to whom and how much. But don't let facts get in the way of your rant.

  • It makes it "affordable" by paying even less to doctors and hospitals, who are already underfunded and underpaid by government programs like Medicaid. People that look at it from all perspectives, like a doctor's, and not their limited view as a consumer, would realize that this plan is not a solution in any way.

  • Do you have any idea how much effort providers have to go to in order to get paid? What you're saying just isn't accurate. The real difference is administration. Enormous efforts go into billing and collecting. Every provider has to cope with a multitude of insurers. Every employer who offers insurance doesn't just pay the premiums, but has their own substantial administrative costs. None of this even accounts for insurers devoting much of their effort to figuring out how to avoid paying.

  • There are 3 groups: Insurers (Blue Cross, United Health), Providers (doctors, hospitals) and Consumers (you and me). The Public Option helps make Insurance more affordable (negotiation power) and removes the Insurer from between Providers and Consumers. It will not reduce administrative costs (as would single-payer), since it adds another Insurer to the mix. That's why Single-Payer is best and the Public Option is a compromise, perhaps necessary because Congress is so bought and paid for.

  • So, just how do you know they increased the lobbying budgets with 41%? That's just a guess to spread propaganda. There is no way in hell anyone could know that.

You have as much chance to find that out as to how much money I spent today.
