Petrichenko also had a very close connection with the famous Ukrainian anarchist Nestor Makhno. In 1917 the sailors at Kronstadt rebelled against the Tsarist Government, bringing it down. In 1921 the same sailors, soldiers and civilians in Kronstadt made a number of demands of the Bolshevik Government. These included free speech, free elections, right of assembly and free trade unions. What you see here is the suppression by the Red Army of this movement.
