This game sort of had that fantasy orchestrated feel. It sent your imagination into so many different directions, sort of making you feel like you yourself we're on some fantastic journey.
Boy Capcom sure knew how to make even Disney games enjoyable to more than just an audience of young children. I mean the games here can even be enjoyable to adults despite the fact it's a Mickey Mouse game. At least effort was put into Disney's games back then (well almost all of them I don't think that one Beauty and the Beast game for the Sega Genesis was all that good) and I don't just mean ones from Capcom either I've also played World of Illusion *2bcont.*
*Continued* and I don't mean just ones from Capcom either I've also played World of Illusion for the Sega Genesis (Megadrive for those of you outside the U.S.) and thats a good Disney game with Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck starring roles. I mean yeah sure World of Illusion isn't as hard as the Magical Quest series and is pretty simple but they were a fun kind of simple kind of like the Kirby series it was easy but still fun *2bcont.*
*Continued* and also I've been playing this game The Magical Quest and I have to say even with some Disney games Capcom still would make the game challenging and hard I don't know how many times I've died playing the Magical Quest, to be honest even though I'm currently at Pete's castle this will be My first time beating the game. Anyways I'm unsure who made World of Illusion and I know Capcom made the majority of Disney games but 2bcont.*
*Continued* but I have to say Capcom and whichever company made the games on the Genesis like World of Illusion (I didn't see Capcom credited anywhere there) well those teams are just more awesome than the Disney interactive of today to be honest even though I did play some Kingdom Hearts anything that comes out of Disney Interactive still has nothing on the teams like Capcom and whoever made games like World of Illusion well they have nothing on the teams who made *2bcont.*
*Continued and I'm sorry for the long comment I'll understand if anyone hates Me*they have nothing on teams like Capcom and whoever made World of Illusion and well basically they're nothing compared to the teams who made Disney games like those for the NES, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis they knew how to make any game based off any Disney anything fun. And to be honest the Real time battle system in Kingdom Hearts kind of irks Me since I can barely keep up with the action in Real time.
It's still funny to play and finnish thoose games that was to hard when you were 7 :D I'm glad I still have my snes, and Nes still here so I can play thoose games.
Had this game since i was a kid, got it as a present at my birthday, sadly it was the japanese version so i never had a clue of what anyone said, but it's 1 of my favorite games nonetheless.
Fucking hell does this shit bring back some seriously great memories! This game kicked all sorts of ass and was one of my favorite's for SNES. Shame it was so short but I'll be damned if it was fantastic.
Now that I think about forest music from video games, I remember that Super Mario RPG also had a fantastic forest song. But it may be impossible to judge which one is better.
They (game developers) either don't have the energy, the motivation or the resources to compose such great musical themes no more! And yet the hardware technology for today's audio is limitless, so the potential is there yet the will to write great music tracks is slowly fading away in video games. Great composers such as Nobuo Uematsu, Koji Kondo and the talented person who orchestrated this tune are the last of the industry's dying breed of ambitious, inspiring and original song writers. IMHO.
With more limitations people are more forgiving. I have some experience in 3D-Leveldesign. When comparing quake4 to quake1, the levels in q1 are much simpler, easier structures, less lighting, badly textured. With nowadays hyperrealistic engines (e.g. Crysis) you can't come up with such a simple design. Q1 looks only good due to the engine limitations (you know the engine is just not capapble of much more) and in the nostalgic perspective.
Yes but I'm talking about the audio, not graphics acceleration or polygon count. With the early 8- and 16-bit consoles, in a time when there was no such thing as Dolby Digital, three-dimensional surround sound, realistic voice acting and so on, game designers put much more energy into making as much out of the limited hardware as possible. Listen to the classic Mega Man soundtracks and compare them to anything out today, or the old Final Fantasy, Lufia, Chrono Trigger, Metroid or Zelda games...
Agreed, ever heard "Dragon Spirit" or Dragon Saber's soundtracks, they are on youtube. Great also. Game music so often today just lacks a good tune and structure. Imagine some of these older tunes done in today's audio technology, they'd beat the newer music creations hands down because they are good peices and not just "a high quality musical sound".
Watching this in GI replay was awesome.

Loved the Capcom music on the SNES! Super Ghouls had the edge though! Ice Forest anyone?

The music sounds related to super ghols n ghosts as well. Since both of these made by capcom. Capcom makes awsome music. :)

Yep, Mari Yamaguchi is the composed for both Magical Quest and Super Ghosts n Ghouls. However, Capcom had many composers over the years.
