  • Question for you. I'm 18 and trying to get started on the path to my own photography business.... I've already sunk about $1,800 into my gear... But one of my biggest delimas as far as where to put my money first, is split between a (pro) lens {sigma 70-200mm 2.8} and a new E-TTL flash with a pocket wizard setup.. I can do either for roughly the same price range.. The last year I've fallen in love with off camera light for ALL my portraits, but everyone I know says to go for a new lens.. THANKS!

  • Hi SnapChick, you say you use 'hardware store' lamps (sorry in in the uk, halogen to me).

do you point them at a reflector? or straight at the subject?

is there any chance of a vid of lighting set up.

    thanks....love the films x

  • @paulbrooksbank1 I usually bounce them off the ceiling. I will be doing a video showing some of my video setups soon.

  • @TheSnapChick many thanks x

  • Could you do a video with no talking... just jumping on a trampoline... but in slo-mo?

  • are you a mom?

  • Nice presentation, as it were. :-)

  • What camera setup did you use to create this video?

  • @blueboyal Nikon V1 + FT1 F Mount adapter + 35mm f1.8G

  • I thought you were taller...

  • Hello and thank you for the beautiful tutorials, was wondering if you could give additional information on the this video regarding the lighting you have used in the room and its set up.

    It really loogs pretty cool!

    Thank you in advance.

  • @MrRoland700sx Just a couple of hardware store work lamps pointing in odd directions.

  • you give me an 8x10

    haha

    snappy you are super fine

  • will you marry me?

  • @StevenGraaf It sounds like a YouTube glitch or something. I'm still here and making videos :)

  • I'm staring at things lol

  • Ok, my question... I'm traveling to Malawi (in Africa) for two weeks in April. I'll have my D5100 with me but can really only bring two of my four lenses with me - how to choose? I have: 18-55 & 55-200 kit zooms, 35mm f/1.8G, and will have the 85mm f/1.8G by then, I hope. I expect at least half of the shooting will be indoors - and I have no idea what kind of lighting to expect, which makes me lean towards the two primes but the flexibility of the zooms is appealing as well. Help?

  • @crcarmichael If it were me, I would bring the 35m f1.8 and 55-200. But, it all comes down to personal preference :)

  • Your boobs look nice in this vid they've been looking as if they've bee na little sick in the previous videos. :)

  • You really should use your Lensbaby! Its great to use it in the middle of a shoot for a couple of images. It's fun and clears your brain.

  • do you make a video everyday? :)

  • nice tits

  • Hey can you tell me a good or the best brand of memory card i should get for my 60d?

  • @extraMAYOporfa I've spent most of my time shooting with Sandisk and Lexar cards with very few problems. I have not shot with all of the brands, so I cannot make direct comparisons. I just ordered two Sandisk cards this morning, if that's any indication of my preferences... :)

  • Such shallow DOF I thought that you were green screening this.

  • i want your nipple's :P

  • thanks for your answer! ill get a supersonic sd card then

  • somehow you're reminding me of Michelle in Grand Theft Auto IV...

  • @TravelMates93 Niko is such a pain in the butt ;)

  • @TheSnapChick wouldn't guess that :D

  • Are people seriously paying for signed pictures???

  • @geoffb91 Are you concerned about this?

  • water marks are just annoying on Facebook its not like anyone is going to steal it cause its soooo low res.

  • @MrFrankdole Personally, I don't like watermarks.

  • Hi. Every time you get asked about the 35mm or 50mm lenses you talk about the f/1.8. Do you know there is also a very affordable 50mm f/1.4G, and a (less affordable 35mm f/1.4G ? Both Nikon AF-S of course.

  • @MarcTNL The f1.8's are a good value for me, as I rarely shoot wide open with the 1.8's.

  • @TheSnapChick: Fair enough... wow, you ARE fast !

  • Indeed very good questions, as well as very well thought out answers. Thank you

  • You really do have a terrific personality Snapshick.

  • Leigh, I own a couple of SLR cams. Are there still any true value or practical utility for SLR or film cams in the digital age? I plan to sell some of my SLRs but I have to wait for your response on my question. Tnx a lot, Leigh.

  • Why did I miss out on this one? Wwhhhhhyyyyyyyyy???!!!!!!! :-(

  • Thanks alot for the signing !! / Dan

  • Thanks for all the great tips :) hopefully when the economy picks up so will my business.

  • surprised no one said anything about her nipples...

    you can't explain that

  • how did you get that kind of depth of field in this video?

Lens used and is it Zoomed and focused?

    Cheers SnapChicka!

  • @S02 35mm f1.8 prime on the V1 with FT1 adapter. Lens at f1.8.

  • First off sorry for the long question. I have specific ideas for a photo service and I need a certain look in a model. How do find models with no portfolio and low to no funds to pay a model? I know the smart thing would be ask some friends but my friends do not have the look I need. Thank you for your help and your youtube page. I enjoy being a VIP on your webpage too.

    Doug

  • @highvoltagephoto Craigslist and a Time-for-CD/Prints ad can get you started with fresh talent.

  • I'm interested in hearing the answers to Pete's questions!

  • @therearetvs Stay tuned :)

  • You have to get help from anywhere you can from people in the field. Thanks for being right here for everybody to get help in such easy and fun ways, in such basic ways Snap. Awesome!

  • Do you think a 50mm 1.4 is better then a stock 18-135mm for all around shooting?

  • @extraMAYOporfa

Not on a crop sensor camera. It makes for a great walk around lens on full frame though.

A 35mm lens would be more versatile on a crop sensor than a 50mm. 50mm lenses on crop sensor cameras are great for portraits though.

  • thanks for sharing :D

  • Wow! Video quality on that looks freakin' awesome.

  • @Dvann562 I talk up the V1 a lot, and people think I'm crazy. I talk it up because it delivers very well.

  • @TheSnapChick Oh, I'm pretty sure people who are knocking it haven't tried it. It seems to me that mirrorless cameras produce excellent video. With that being said, I can't wait to get my hacked Panasonic GH1.

  • @TheSnapChick What lens was on it?

  • Which camera did you use for this video?

  • @MrPlouffe78 Nikon V1 + FT1 F Mount Adapter + 35mm f1.8G

  • @TheSnapChick The video has a different look to it. Really like it.

  • @jeffrelee I am very pleased with the V1 and 35mm f1.8 combo for video. It's a real winner.

  • where's the Syracuse jersey?!

  • knitting - really...

  • You are smoking hot in this video. I can't look away.. wow...

  • Love the side view...

  • Smoking hot...

  • thanks for sharing!

  • U have a BOB?! U kickbox?

  • @throathammer1 Doesn't everyone? ;)

  • I did,..the Nike logo took me there lol cute as always

  • 8:22 that's what she said

  • I've been told by professional photographers that I admire, that I got a big talent for photography, and I'm seriously considering to go professional. But I'm far from interested in being my own boss, and what I really want to do is to shoot for glossy magazines (which isn't the easiest job to get!). On the other side, photography is such a passion for me that I cannot accept it being just a hobby, since it would be a waste of talent. What are your advice? Thanks in advance! /Victor

  • Hey you should of left your boyfriend out of the frame. He must workout!) LOL, To distracting!)

  • I have a cat named LeRoy too! :D <3 he's my best friend! he's like my brother or my shadow haha <3

  • Thanks for answering both of my questions :D

  • Thanks for answering my question on studio vs outdoor photography. I'm still learning and trying my best to make the best pics I can with both.

  • Thanks for answering my question, and yes I have seen it in your other vids :) Great to know that you still keep it around
