so i thought i commented on this video a while back stating how awesome this sounds, but turns out i didnt. anyways, it sounds great. I actually ended up doing pretty much this exact exhaust set up, so i figured id give props where props are due. so thanks for the info, and now the great sounding allroad. cheers!
hey no problem at all I actually have a newer one with a better intake and twin dual exhaust it breathes soo much better and I picked up mpgs and hp. sounds almost the same only cleaner check it out
Thanks a lot, I've had a pretty good response on here and people on the street always ask what kind of work I have done. It's just a v6 is the usual response at first
before these mufflers were installed it cost about 100 to straight pipe from the cats to the stock mufflers. I got both mufflers #10415 on ebay for a little over a hundred shipped. They tried to charge me 200+ to install the mufflers but, it was about 120. It's an 01 so I have the hidden exhaust. I purchased the tips from audi that bolt on a while back but, they aren't needed if its <02. it will pass any inspection or emissions including cali. you can have the same thing for under $500 easy.
Well since you have aftermarket mufflers, it will sound a lot different but, you can have them cut it to where you can have it reinstalled if you don't like it. It only takes like 20 minutes for them to cut out the resonator and run straight pipes to the aftermarket mufflers. you will be surprised how good it sounds. Audis don't sound like imports because they are made a lot better.
I think Magnaflows with the center resonator cut out would lose too much back pressure on a N/A car. I never had problems with Cherry Bombs ever going bad. Sometimes I wish it was louder, but then again it is a 3700 pound luxury car. Don't forget I spent under $100. I'm more than satisfied...just because it's different.
Thats what I thought until I met a guy with a 2.8. He didn't use magnaflows but, he did cut out the center resonator and it sounded great. All the center resonator does is makes things quiet on audis. I actually cut the center out before going to magnaflows and you couldn't tell the difference with the stock mufflers except performance wise. I'm not mad at you though.
I have a 2.8 with Remus mufflers but the center resonater is still installed, ive been thinking about removeing it but im not sure...I wanted remus first, then heard ur vid and decided 2 get magnaflows for cheap, then said screw it and spent the money for Remus. LOL, cars.
There isn't much difference between the two except one is overpriced and a lot more restrictive. Remus makes good mufflers but, charge too much. The magnaflows actually are more durable and sound a lot better which is why they make the official exhausts for rs4 and r8. cutting the center resonator and straight piping will free your exhaust significantly. you won't recognize your car. you can cut it so you can reinstall it if it's too loud like I did but, I love it so it's not going back in ever
not sure how they are more restrictive(im assuming ur talking about remus) since they are strait through mufflers, no baffles. just 3 inch pipe surounded by fiber glass with a 3 1/2 inch tip?
oh it really depends on the magnaflows you get because they are all different. these have basically zero restriction and fit on the a6 perfectly. the #is 10415 and I only paid like 90 shipped for both. I have zero resonance even when it's cold and you heard how it drives away on the launch video.

'Bout how much did the custom exhaust run ya (including the Magnaflows) and do you think it'll pass inspection in NJ? haha..

Any idea what my exhaust would sound like with the center resonator cut out? Would I lose too much back pressure? Makes me nervous...haha
