  • its nice to hear mars hill preach something i agree with.

  • CLEAR man

  • Why can't we just for 5 seconds believe that jesus loves us and will grant our hearts desires? It says that in the bible! And nobody better say they don't desire wealth!!! Because if that's true then I challenge you to go to your boss and say boss you can stop sending me my paycheck cuz you know it's not all about the money! Yeah youd be crazy to say that! STOP PUTTING GODS POWER IN A BOX!

  • Thank you for addressing this Mark. It's great to hear a balanced financial sermon.

  • Jesus Christ was a faggot.

  • This is my Christian life story. I go to a church that preaches somewhat the prosperity gospel in a mild way. Yet I disagree completely. And sometimes I have found myself wanting to be on the other extreme just to separate myself from the prosperity belief system. However, I have found that some things have to be balanced. Right now I'm going thru some tough times with the church. I love the people there and today we had a meeting where I left everything out. They told me to talk to the pastor.

  • @JPNR They didn't agree with me at all even though I didn't go full into the issue. I know I should talk to the pastor but it's just hard. I love my brothers and sister in the church and I know they all have a relationship with God. But, I just can't let the prosperity teaching pass by. Like I said, these people are not like Joel Osteen, or C. Dollar or Popoff. I would say the church has almost everything right except for the prosperity part and I know they don't teach it trying to get money.

  • sounds like an apology for middle-class american theology to me. i seem to recall something about being lukewarm and being spat out of a mouth.....

  • This is ssssoooooooooooo good. This kind of balanced teaching is hard to find yet it biblical.

  • Such a legit message - very convicting. Thank you and God bless

  • I don't agree with all of Marks theology, but I still come listen sometimes, because he does give some really good lessons in other areas. I believe he is a blessing to many people on youtube.

  • Amen!

  • we don't hold either, because jesus was a fool to of think that mars hill would give up their manna. what is this sermon number 1000 captain jackass has preached that has nothing to do with the bible?

  • Where is the scripture to support all is this????? He did not quote a single verse in 4:13 minutes....amazing. His opinion.

  • @jrk425 first off, you should listen to the whole sermon (they are FREE) rather than this small 4 minute clip from an hour sermon. second, does he say anything that contradicts scripture?

  • Why is it that Followers of these kind of Pastors have to always explain what they REALLY mean. That is not what he said....and he is misleading. I am also tired of nothing but criticism coming from this camp. When is the Church going to get it...we are a joke to the World because even we can't get along....

  • @jrk425

It's because there's alot of people who are slow to listen but quick to speak their mind. Test, whether this little video agrees with the Scripture. Btw, I'm not even from America, nor am I a "follower" of him. He's just a great theologian and a good speaker. God bless you.

  • WOW I didn't know the real God of the universe could be manipulated. To get to our real God of money....what a LOAD OF CRAP!!!!

  • @jrk425 He means literally that people will try to use within the Christian culture the appearance of being a Christian to gain wealth. - ie Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, etc. - cause obviously God cannot be manipulated.

  • @sprolls045 tell me, what's the difference in mark, Joel, or Benny Hinn? they're all the same, non of them ever preach a word from the bible, all they talk about is cultural dilemmas. never a message about salvation, never a message about repentance. this is heresy!!!

  • @drakegod84

Joel and Benny are a joke, but I wouldn't say that about Mark Driscoll. Here's a video of Mark preaching the Gospel: /watch?v=lFTX80TpZ_4

  • To quote a good friend of mine, "How is it that (most) pastors don't have a 9-5 but they're living like kings? And how is it that as a pastor can drive by one of his members standing at the bus stop (in his Mercedes) and not offer them a lift? Seems like the prosperity is only for the ministers in a lot of churches today."

  • You soo know what an LLC or CRA is. You said them!

  • Always telling it like it is...A PONZI SCHEME!

  • Well said, the grace of Jesus..

  • The prosperity theology is becoming so popular that I've seen it day after day on the television. It worries me because some use the word "LAW". I've seen it time and time again. What needs to be done is explain what the word law means in theological terms.

  • This is the reason why I listen to Mark Driscoll.. Im looking for preachers to teach the Bible as a whole... I love it! Balanced, very theological.. I'm all the way here in Philippines and I listen to his messages everyday for 2 weeks now, since I found him. I thank God for his life

  • @steffanielyn you should check out paul washer. Mark has some errors in him also (like any other preacher) pray about this situation ask God to help you really pick out whats the truth and whats there to just tickle your ears. Please be careful.

  • @steffanielyn i completely aggree. very theological but biblical...

  • @Pablo113 Did you come in here just for the purpose of being an agitator?

  • Who comes to mind when I hear 'using god for money'? Peter Popoff. -_-

  • amen

  • wow, actually, only an hour or so ago, I was searching for "A Balanced Theology of Prosperity" because, I see that most of the church falls into one of 2 camps, prosperity and poverty! This is refreshing. Thanks Mark Driscoll.

  • @Bigtombowski Check out the BOOK: "Neither Poverty nor Riches: A Biblical Theology of Possessions" by Craig L. Blomberg.
