  • what size r ur leggings

  • i have a pair that only has 7 holes.

  • @sgtpeppers291 Those are Marine Corps leggings. The ones in the video are U.S. Army.

  • @mx5matt Thank you i am using them for a ww2 seabees uniform.

  • Would anybody wear these for use in an everyday situation were they not in the military? Would they be good for work out in the woods or something?

  • @D13fledermause i wear civil war gaiters/leggings on my cowboy boots to keep them snug. But i wear them under my pants.

  • So you wear them with the lacings on the outside of the leg? I have a picture of my father in 1941 with his lacings on the inside. Maybe it depended on the preferences of the unit commander.

  • @kpadmirer It's possible, but with the laces on the inside you also have the hooks on the inside and that could easily trip you up.

  • Legings look SOO cool on a ww2 solder! :D

  • @ww2freak001 i relly dont know y they had them any way but they r awsome

  • @MrKG1020 FYI: the leggings were to keep the dirt, rocks, twigs, and pebbles out of their boots.

  • @ww2freak001 oooo k hey i have these weird leggings there not tan orthat big in side it says medium U.S. Tweedie ??? they r old, battle warn

  • @MrKG1020 Srry, dont know what kind they are. what color are they? and can you see a date on the inside?

and do thy look ww2 or ww1? (ww1 are longer) if the date goes back to ww1 and their not a ww1\ww2, then their more than likely to be Civil war, or juest some old leggings that are really dirty.

  • @ww2freak001 look at my vid the leggings r in it

  • nice vid it helped me for my legging

  • Ok then the circumference is..11"

  • @MrZAKTAN At the fullest part of my calf my leg is about 14" and a 3R is just about too big for me, you might want to look for a 2R.

  • Ok,(i've noticed a Lot of people asking what size they should get soo..)

    I'm a size 9 and i need a pair for airsoft.I found a pair for 30$ on ebay that are a size 2 or 3..

    Should i go for it?

  • @MrZAKTAN Legging size has nothing to do with shoe size, they have to do with the circumference of your lower leg. Size 3R fits just the average adult.

  • where can i buy legging laces?

  • @jakobe1639 Old Grouch's is a surplus store in Clyde, NC and they have them but they're not listed on their online store. Google Old Grouch's Military Surplus and you could try calling them and see if they will ship them to you.

  • @mx5matt are you wearing jump boots?

  • @MegADumBProduction Yeah. at the time it was all I had.

  • Quite useful, thanks mate!

  • How do you clean them?

  • @TheMEGATRENT Scrub brush and water would be the best. Canvak is a canvas cleaner you could try if they're really bad.

  • @mx5matt Thanks

  • Thanks dude.

  • what size are those?

  • @tuchicilina They're 3R's.

  • Good video mate I have posted links to this a few times now.

  • Awsome one of the only instructional videos for putting on leggings on youtube

  • wered u get those. there awsome

  • Awesome! Very useful! My history honors society Phi Alpha Theta will be sponsoring a veteran's history exhibition in honor of American veterans and this video has been mighty helpful to my visual understanding of how to tie leggings because I am suppose to brief on them! Thank you for keeping history alive. Cordova.

  • ok i just purchased some leggings and they are stamped 1-12-45. anyways mine only has 7 eylets. can you tell me why yours has so much more than mine? possibly made by different manufactuers or something?

  • @DevinChief That is one of the "late war" developments. Basically they realized that they took so long to get on and off and decided to go with shorter leggings with lace eyelets. Many GI's also took it upon themselves to shorten their own leggings to make them more manageable.

  • @mx5matt oohhhhh!!!!!!!! ok thanks!

  • thanx bro..was putting together my custom miller action figure and need the tutorial on putting these on.....in 1/6 scale of course....

  • wow thanks for this video!! i was going to buy some but then im like, oh crap how do you even tie them!?!??!?? sorry if i sound like a noob but im going from AXIS to US...ill be sure to SUB!!!

Pvt. Meiselman , 245th Coast Artillery

  • is it better to get a 3r if you're like a 2r because it'll fit anyway? because i found a 3r for about 27 bucks......

  • so im looking to get leggings for airsoft re-enactment. i wear a size 9/12 shoe and a size 10 boot. i measured my calf and its 13 inchs. would a size 3 be to big? should i go with a size 2 instead?

  • @NicR94 A 2R might be better for you, just measured and my calf is 14.5 around. If you're going to keep growing, you might want to get a 3R, if not a 2R.

  • @mx5matt ok ill get a 3. pluse im probly not gnna use old school roughout boots. ill use my USMC gortex boots under. thanks for the reply!

  • @NicR94 You don't have to buy old roughouts, plenty of places make reproductions. Google At the Front, What Price Glory, or WWII Impressions. They all make and sell reproduction WWII gear.

  • @mx5matt yeah ive been to ATF. but i like having gortex boots because i dont have to worry about stepping in the creeks and rivers i play next to. ill check out those other websites!

  • what is the purpose of those?

  • @clownslider Mainly to keep rocks, dirt, and some water from getting down into your boot.

  • @mx5matt you get water no matter what ther for kepping dart from getteing in shoes

  • @mx5matt thank you! this really helped, im gonna suscribe to you :D

  • @clownslider hmm I think the purpose of the leggings is to basicly act like a normal boot since boots cost alot i think the GI's had leggings

  • Thanks man

  • I wanna get some of these, but how do i know what size to buy? I wear a size 9.5 boot.

  • @VVolfmast3r Most adults will want a size 3R. Sizing goes by how big your calf muscle is basically so shoe size won't help you with that. I have pretty average size calves and 3R works. I tried on a 2R today and it would be very tight.

  • hey were did you get them

  • Yes, they are, I didn't have any low boots available.

  • but it looks good too xD

  • @mumugamer2006 Thanks!

  • aren't these para boots?

  • awsome i had no clue how two tie them when i got them

  • Thanks so much! I just got WWII leggings to add to my uniform and I thought that they would never fit, but sure enough your video showed me how to.

  • did they really tie leggings on their jump boots?

  • lol no

this man uses his jumpboots to use for service boots, you can hardly see a difference between these 2. And WW2 US airborne never used leggings;)

  • Well from what I have read their were some troopers in I believe the 17th airborne in the Pacific that actually jumped with service shoes and leggings due to supply shortages of jump boot. Another interesting fact is if a standard infantry man happened apon a pair of jump boots he might put some leggings over them as some paratroopers would confiscate the jump boots. As a 101st airborne vet told me "they were meant for those that earned tham and not for some leg"

  • this helps alot. i no how to tie them now thank you! lol

  • Thanks for posting this. Im soon gonna reenact the 327 gliders and i know they wear gear of the infantry. I didnt know how leggings were put on and now i know. Thanks M8T. :D

  • as much as leggings suck, i love them. Fortunately i get to wear Gemaschen instead of leggings now :D

  • Excellent video. I thought I had it right, but youve made it so much easier. I suck at blousing my boots. They just dont ever look right. Is there a specific way to do that?

  • I use blousing bands for that. You wrap them around the top of your jumpboot about an inch from the top. Then fold the bottom of your pants legs in (I fold them in around the hemline) and tuck them under the blousing band. Then reposition the band where it's comfortable and straighten up the blousing so it looks good. Hope that helps.
