howd you do the bit with the computer monitor faces morphing into each other? i have final cut but havent been able to work out how to get images to warp into each other like that
For that I actually used free software for morphing images. You manually correlate points between each pair of images, so it's not an automated process. I don't remember exactly what format I imported the morphs into Final Cut.
I actually used a different program for the morphing. I may have used elastic reality. There are other programs that are free and simpler to use. I just imported the video into Final Cut and placed it on the computer monitor.
the effect was done by split screen. the video must be shot from a tripod. In the editor (I used final cut, but can be done w/ premiere etc) put the clips in layers. I don't remember the name of the feature, but you can define a region to be visible and the rest will allow other layers to show thru. This shape can be changed over time to follow the object. Final cut has a blurred edge option to make it hard to see the lines where the shot was split.
hey, awesome video!
