aahha 237769356, I agree with you. Kris Allen isn't a HORRIBLE singer but he wasn't the BEST singer in the competition. Danny Gokey voice was unique , along with Adam Lambert. Even Allison Iraheta has a unique voice. Kris Allen's voice isn't all that unique but it isn't bad. So , yes Danny Gokey should have been in the top 2

To me it was always obvious that Adam Lambert would sail through right to the finale because he's mad talented, confident and has an amazing stage presence.

But I really believed Danny would make it to the finale, too... at least he was WAY better than Kris Allen.

Danny Gokey deserved to win :) He had an amazing range! My friends have said "Danny's fake. Danny made up that story about his wife dying". the hell he did. He deserves a oscar if he is faking...

I love Danny gokey.

His story is so bitter sweet and his voice is beautiful. He sings with so much emotion and passion, he is really growing on me.

I'm sorry, but he really seems like a punk here. He always does. No matter what I see of him, what I come away with is: Phony; arrogant; chip on his shoulder. Hell of a voice, though. That audition was dynamite.

I dont think danny is phony or arrogant at all. I think he is a real guy that can finally express even more of how he is and not get told he is using it to get sympathy votes in a way its sorta good he didnt win cause no one is saying he only won out of symathy any success from now on is pure talent !

I think mistabook what you take as arrogance can be seen as self assurance. It is a rare thing now adays, to find someone as young as Danny Gokey, who has his priorities straight and can be proud of who they are and how they conduct themselves in the world. It is rather sad that you can't see this for what it is. But if you put yourself into selfless service for awhile, you might jettison a lot of that karmic baggage that is holding you down. These posts r only taking u in the opposit direction

On a different note, Danny Gokey IS the American Idol 2009. Wow, what a man...so beautiful, talented, sweet, and just downright real. He doesn't care about the money or the pampering. Kris isn't better, but he's no worse either. Danny & Kris & Adam are all extremely talented within their own styles/genres. All would have deserved a spot in the finale. America decides whose music they prefer, and it might be a close vote (I think it was this week), but that's how it is. Danny is wonderful. He can do what he wants to do now without being tied to a contract. And as he said, he can be himself & tell it how it is!

thank you, from a Kris fan. Danny's a wonderful guy with a warm personality & a lot of heart. I love how committed and passionate he is about helping/encouraging people and the Sophie's Heart foundation. It shows what kind of a person he is.
