If I have a cold I just pop down to the polyclinic, wait for about 15 minutes and get a prescription. Our hospitals give us a wait of only about half an hour before we see a doctor. Sheesh. I've always wanted to live in America, but I'm rethinking that.
I'm from the U.K and get to see a DR within 4 hours from the time I call the surgery.....then pick up my perscription from the Chemist next door...right away!...And FREE!!!

You obviously don't understand what "universal health care" refers to. It does not mean the government would pay insurance companies to provide their poor service to Americans. It means the government would BE the health provider...as they have done so very successfully with Medicare and with health care provided to veterans through the Veterans' Administration. This would cut the corporations out of the loop entirely...no more profits for them!

Single Payer Health care (government subsidized) and socialized medicine (government ran). If American accepted a universal health care play it, like the rest of the western world would accept the single payer health care system. Michael Moore is doing himself a disservice by being such an asshole. Shouting something three times in a row probably would have gotten the point across, but he often went farther than that. I agree with most of his points and liked Sicko, but it would have been a much better interview if he actually engaged in DIALOGUE with Wolf rather than shouting him down.
Immediately before he came on, Wolf called for a "reality check" and the doctor presented a 4 minute report refuting the documentary's credibility before Moore had a chance to say anything... He was pissed, & I'd be pissed too. Moore standing when most refuse to; and his website DID post facts that refuted CNN's take on the doc.
wakassjak, I can sort of see why he reacts that way. It must be incredible frustrating to see the media ignore or blatantly distort these issues, AGAIN. Sicko has been out for 2 weeks now, and all we hear about is Paris Hilton. The journalists are not asking the right questions. The presidential candidates should be absolutely roasted for not proposing better health care policies, rather they make modifications to the status quo.

The bottom line is that the US health care system is BROKEN and private industry does not want to fix it or help the real med needs of the people, all in the name of profit. I'm sick and tired of hearing people bash our country because we don't want to pay for people who can't afford medical insurance. It's a system that isn't perfect and could use change, but that doesn't mean our only option is a high-tax universal health alternative. You obviously don't understand what "universal health care" refers to. It does not mean the government would pay insurance companies to provide their poor service to Americans. It means the government would BE the health provider...as they have done so very successfully with Medicare and with health care provided to veterans through the Veterans' Administration. no... you obviously don't know. Universal Health care means everyone gets health care. They are two ways to do this. Single Payer Health care (government subsidized) and socialized medicine (government ran). If American accepted a universal health care play it, like the rest of the western world would accept the single payer health care system. This would benefit current health care corporations because its causes a huge demand which equals more sells.

Michael Moore is doing himself a disservice by being such an asshole. Shouting something three times in a row probably would have gotten the point across, but he often went farther than that. I agree with most of his points and liked Sicko, but it would have been a much better interview if he actually engaged in DIALOGUE with Wolf rather than shouting him down.

Immediately before he came on, Wolf called for a "reality check" and the doctor presented a 4 minute report refuting the documentary's credibility before Moore had a chance to say anything... He was pissed, & I'd be pissed too. Moore standing when most refuse to; and his website DID post facts that refuted CNN's take on the doc.

wakassjak, I can sort of see why he reacts that way. It must be incredible frustrating to see the media ignore or blatantly distort these issues, AGAIN. Sicko has been out for 2 weeks now, and all we hear about is Paris Hilton. The journalists are not asking the right questions. The presidential candidates should be absolutely roasted for not proposing better health care policies, rather they make modifications to the status quo.
