its not that Spader is a bad choice for the job, he is definitely not the best, but the writers of the office think that just by watching a few episodes of the practice or boston legal, they can determine how to effectively write Robert California's character. This is simply just not true, the remaining writers are so inexperienced that they cannot begin to handle the acting machine that is James Spader. NBC, take the hint, and just give him a recurring role on 30 Rock. It would be alot better

I hate the fact that Michael Scott is gone even to this day. At first I did not like James Spader as the new boss/ceo, but his role in the show is so.....I don't know, his script is so good!! His best scene so far was in the Episode "Spook" where he gave his ending speech. Wow, seriously, just WOW!! I am truly amazed! Lol.

If you ever deal with a character like Spader's character on The Office, just stare right back, but try to project the same degree of confidence as you extricate yourself from the situation. He wants to be alpha, but if you don't engage, it's hard, if not impossible. Dwight gets paranoid, Jim almost looks hypnotized.
