Absolutely love this song, and love the Mad Love album too ... full of great songs, including covers of some top songs by Elvis Costello and The Cretones ... but How Do I Make you is the standout, and it still sounds fantastic ! ... Wayne
Ah yes, I remember this song when it came out--I was madly in love with Linda Ronstadt at the time. I was determined that I was eventually going to marry her. Alas, it didn't work out too well...it never does for all 15 year old boys. Oh well, there's always next lifetime. LOL >:o)
@dustymiller65 LMAO!! That "story" sounds vaguely familiar. Now where have I heard that one before? It sounds like.... ummm... ummm... oh yeah, my teenage dream as well! heh. I was actually 16 when this song came out, but you know, there's something about "rocker chicks" to a teenage boy, but especially ones that look and sound like Linda!
@centuryrox You know, she started off with Country music! I vaguely remember that, oh so long ago. I saw this video with her and Johnny Cash, and another one with her, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris singing together on YouTube ("I Never Will Marry"). Imagine that?! (Oh, and she's wearing a mini-skirt in the Johnny Cash one!) Check it out!
@WooFucca ...okay, I've narrowed down our problem and I know how to fix it. All we will need is two Time Machines. One for you and one for me--BANG! ☺
1 of the few song Linda released that wasn't a cover version. She hit #10 in Billboard, 3-22-8s0. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Shalom, Linda. Have a great week!
Billboard's #68 song of '80. Linda hit #10 in Billboard. Memories of the West Chicago Community High pompom squad doin' a routine to this 1. God bless!
Linda was rocking long before Lady CaCa, Katy Perry & St!nk were even in their mommy's womb. She's been around for more than 40 yrs. And she ain't going anywhere as her musical legacy lives on 40 yrs later. Let's see if any of today's so called musical acts make it to 40 yrs. This song still sounds good 30 yrs later.
@bigdaddycoolbreeze LMAO, you're right! I don't know what I was thinking at the time. Was probably uploading other videos at the time and wasn't paying too much attention.
Also, this video had been in copyright purgatory for the past 5 months, and has just recently been unblocked by YouTube, or else the error would've been brought to my attention much sooner.
I can see the Foo Fighters covering this .

Today's no talents like Lady CaCa, Katy Perry & St!nk couldn't even carry one of Linda's vinyl records with both of their hands.

It's actually from her 1980 album "Mad Love," which should be painfully obvious to the casual observer.
