I was using gamecam for that, but I use fraps now. The free version lags you (well it did me) but I have the full version now. Free version of gamecam didn't give me any lag but you cant record sound.
I wasn't trying to be 'look at me I'm l337 omg!1!!1!' or anything. Needed to test out the recording stuff so just did some jumps and stuff to test filming and editting etc.
