I am veteran. I climbed the ladder with the VA. I have cronic back and shoulder pain. Most vets with a medal of valor or combat badges or a PH will get all the help they need. I cannot speak for the whole nation, but in Minnesota and North Dakota a veteran never gets over looked. Contact your County Service Veterans Officer if you need help. The VA is here to help, you just need to want to get it.

It takes years for veterans to get disability; they lose their housing, families, get arrested for sleeping outside with criminal records, credit is destroyed, they have to live in absolute poverty, and then after waiting for years THEY GET A VA "DISABILITY CLAIM DENIED" LETTER.....

funny how quickly you go from a hero to a zero when you serve your country.since my discharge under other than honorable conditions from a special forces unit 27 years ago,half of those 27 have been homeless for various reasons, including bad choices.not saying i'm perfect or been wronged,just that nobody really cares,and i suppose that's the hardest pill to swallow.i still smile everyday when i go through life,but it doesn't stop the pain deep inside me that nobody else can see.except for god.

@lucy9359 well I don't know about CA but I know that in the US it's extremely difficult to immigrate legally, one of the requirements being that you have to prove you can support yourself. If anything, it's too difficult- hence our illegal immigration problem.

Tax dollars go to McDonalds every time they open a franchise, for example. Welfare reform is important, but feeding the children of a struggling family is not the biggest waste of tax dollars in my view.

I am glad that Joe got 100%, but he should really get 1000% because of how horrorifying and painful when he was crushed under that vehicle, and now he can hardly walk. $2,500 per month is not always going to keep one from giving up if they were so seriously injured that let alone not working they can't even walk around without pain.
Even if all disabled vets were to get 100% disability payments, I have to wonder how long they could get those benefits before the federal government defaults on them. The whole system is bankrupt.

You already went from thinking only Americans mistreat their vets to realizing that's true for Canada too, the same logic will show you that corruption is not based on race, religion, or other such factors. No one group bears all humanity's ills. Yes, political reform is needed, in Canada, US, and just about everywhere. Vets need help- more tax dollars and more private donations.

@HKTeeVee you missed my point I am not against imigration what I said was I am against my tax dollars going to support an imigrant coming in here in polygamist relationships...or any imigrant for that matter coming in here broke and in need of social assistance (unless they are a refugee) we should not be supporting them while allowing our vets to be homeless...if someone can not support their own household when they come here they shouldn't be coming here if we can't support our own!

@lucy9359 well I don't know about CA but I know that in the US it's extremely difficult to immigrate legally, one of the requirements being that you have to prove you can support yourself. If anything, it's too difficult- hence our illegal immigration problem.

@HKTeeVet yes my point was not against imigrants...Western Nations are broke and tax reform as in where our dollars go is the only way that we can do anything legally because the corporations and banks are not acountable at all and never will be...Canada is owned by America Inc which is not owned by America but rather the Rothschilds and their off shoots own it...on that note who is going to hold them acountable? No one can so we have to work with what we have which is distributing what is left!

@HKTeeVee anyway I agree with you 100% that big gov wastes tax dollars. From what I know of the US tax system, welfare is a very small part of that pie. Tax dollars go to McDonalds every time they open a franchise, for example. Welfare reform is important, but feeding the children of a struggling family is not the biggest waste of tax dollars in my view.

I am glad that Joe got 100%, but he should really get 1000% because of how horrorifying and painful when he was crushed under that vehicle, and now he can hardly walk. $2,500 per month is not always going to keep one from giving up if they were so seriously injured that let alone not working they can't even walk around without pain.

Even if all disabled vets were to get 100% disability payments, I have to wonder how long they could get those benefits before the federal government defaults on them. The whole system is bankrupt.

bless Joe's HEART!! In every sense of the word, Joe deserves it. Its disheartening that he nearly lost his life in a thousands miles away in a strange desert, and comes home to be ignored. Especially those in combat jobs, need more respect when they come home than what the get now. I will pray for you Joe. I can tell the full senserity and honor in your voice.

Do we think military personel like being called away for an undetermined period of time, being separated from loved ones or being exposed to danger, the stress and trauma - all for for the meager wages they receive? let's have some empathy, and encourage the US government not to abandon these guys! And think about all of the RIGHTS and FREEDOMS that we have in this country..... Are you kidding me Anderson Cooper? 650,000 Iraqi/Afghan war veterans is not a little number, as reported by Army Times before this was broadcast. The problem really is when the MSM purposefully hides info from us Americans, so they can keep the war machine going, because all the MSM is owned by the military industrial complex, such as GE.
