Unfortunately they didn't make a good anime from that brilliant video game. I think the storyline should be more based on the tournament. The directing and the design didn't bring back almost anything from that great, cool, little bit weird and of course bloody atmosphere of the game. I agree with HystericLuna on his/her opinion. Probably they didn't have the budget for a better director and screenwriter, so they've made an average crap....

Considering the two Fatal Fury TV specials were actually decent and faithful to the source material (aside from the fact that Krauser was the same age as Terry). But this isn't just "canonically incorrect" bad. Its plain bad, period.

grrr... ukyo and genjuro are more popular than the others.. why didn't they include them? and zankuro should have been the enemy after amakusa. not the f*king monster.
The artist is GWINKO, and the song is 大好きという嘘をついた (Daisuki to iu uso wo tsuita).
I hunted for it for ages, too. The CD it's on (or at least, _one_ CD it's on, that I could find info on) is some obscure collection of songs GWINKO performed for various anime. Still no luck finding the song itself. :/

Ok. first, thanx for sharing the anime with everyone. I'm happy to see my fav Samurai Showdown characters in anime. They probly hired 3rd class anime director with extremely low budget. wouldn't even begin to discuss about all the holes appearing in the plot and etc.
It is unfortunate that they could have done so much more and better using the unique and stylish character base as each character has their own stories. (AND THEY DISMISSED UKYO!)
man dis movie ok , but i dont like dat the best character Hanzo only gets like 30 seconds on da whole movie. i think this movie could have had a better storyline with better roles and more bad guys. theres only 3 da green guy, earthquake and da amakusa and all 3 get killed by da same person. kinda sucks. plus weres the guy with the blue hair?? plus some stuff on da credits they didnt show when i watch all 8 parts

this was made in 1994, before Genjuro and Zankuro were released as official characters. In other words, it's about SS1.
I totally missed Genjuro, however. I play as him.
