Grande pilotos nessa época: Reutmann, Lauda, Fittipaldi, Peterson, Hunt.
Lole was truly a great driver and according to my opinion 1981 title should have been won by him instead of Piquet. Too bad Frank Williams boycotted him all the way through the season when it was clear that Williams team had the Constructors' title in sight. His fault (so to speak) was disobeying team's order in Brasil that year, once done that that s.o.b. named Alan Jones teamed up with Williams and Patrick Head against him. They even got him racing in Hockheneim with a doomed engine!!!!!!!!
So the contract he signed to drive as no.2 was not worth the paper it was written on? After Silverstone he had a massive lead in the championship due to a long run of consistent finishes in the points. Simple fact was he was leading going into the last race in Las Vegas and he blew it. Nobody to blame but himself.
I love how footballers...
