Later in his career he tried it to gain more arm size, and it nearly killed him. Pre-synthol he had a world calss physique. You don't have to be mr.olympia to still be a damn good bodybuilder.

@SuperAustrianOak Well, at the time it clearly did not seem stupid. Many steroids are also in injectable oil form. All synthol is, is the sterile oil, with no drug in it. It was meant to cause temporary swelling, to make a laging part look a bit bigger. His logic was pretty simple. "ok I inject oild based steroids before, this is sterile, and my arms do lag a bit, sure why no try it?" and it almost killed him. Then he went on to warn others of its danger. I respect a man who admits a mistake.

Looks like he's sporting a semi there too. I love it when these guys get really "into" their posing. I was backstage at one of these things years ago and everywhere I looked there was a hardon.
