They purposely made gale a huge pussy with no street smarts, so it was pretty obvious from the start he was going to be killed off quick...Good character though, played an awesome role during the scene where jesse goes to kill him. that whole part of the episode was amazing. so suspenseful
@RomanSage He wasn't innocent, but he was clearly the least "evil" and willing to play the game. In the end, it led to his death, which was a completely fair move.
@realfreakaynaughtay Well I wouldn't say that killing Gale was a good thing d but then again Walt is becoming a not so good man. By the end of the series he's supposed to be a badass drug lord or something and he's obviously well on his way.
@RomanSage Did he know Gus would kill Walt? I thought Gus spun it to him that he needed to take over because of Walt's illness. Anyway, I agree with you he was no innocent, and was smart enough to know what he was mixed up in.
@NYStateOfMind986 He tried to warn Walt. After Gus told Gale he only had one more cook with Walt Gale tried to talk to Walt while they were cleaning the equipment but Victor intervened and later Gale tried to get Walt to have a beer with him after work but Walt kinda brushed him off. Sorry for poorly written response, weather took my energy.
@RomanSage ah thanks, i don't even remember that. so is it assumed that Gale knew Walter was going to be killed? for some reason, i can't remember this, even though i just saw it for the first time like 2 months ago lol.
Gale was walts replacement, the ONLY reason why walt was even hired was so gale could learn walts recipe and then kill walt. He was not innocent at all, and gale knew he was walts replacement. All gale wanted was walts knowledge, he cared about nothing else and was willing to do anything, even become walts lap dog, just to learn his science. If it worked out the way gale and the rest of them wanted, they would have walts recipe and walt and Jessie would be dead. I wish walts wife died more tho.
@EngagingDarkness I agree. In my opinion Gale knew Gus was about to off Walt. He knew because tried to bargain with Gus over how long he got to spend it with Walt and he did make a halfhearted attempt to warn Walt while cleaning the meth lab. I don't feel sorry for Gale because he really didn't try to save Walt. And Walt's wife is getting annoying. I wonder if Walt's alter ego will off her, Hank, and the recovering Mike in the final season and take his place as the Kingpin of Meth.
The thing is, Gale isn't 'innocent' at all. He cooks meth. No meth cook is innocent, ever. He got killed because that is the nature of the beast. He played with fire and got burned. He didn't respect Walt, he had a crush on Walt.
@a1rjord4n its funny because jesse doesnt even acknowledge gale, but a few episodes later, gale changes jesses whole life around, and is probably going to be stuck in the back of his mind the rest of his life
I felt so bad for Gale. he had nothing but respect for walt, got him the job in the first place, and really was actually a good guy and did nothing wrong. yet he was treated like shit and killed for no reason.
@ShadowWolfofPack this show has no "good guys." all it has is characters going after their goals and doing whatever it takes to reach them. it's not about being good here, its about survival.
The show has some definite "good guys" despite the grey morality in the majority of the show. I don't see how you can argue that Hank is in any way bad. Even the time where he beat Jesse up was understandable and he hated himself for it afterwards.
@ryancrules623 youre an idiot. he was killed to keep walt alive. maybe you should watch a show like desperate housewives or jersey shore, something a little less complex.
@ryancrules623 Gale respects Walt's chemistry, whereas Jesse also respects his reasons behind the cooking. Walt also knew the only reason Gale was 'licking his boots' was to learn his method and eventually take over.
@ryancrules623 Killed for no reason? They killed him because he was a threat to Walt. After he started learning Walt's formula, Gustavo was planning to kill Walt and just use Gale as the cook. So they had no other choice.
@ryancrules623 Thats the risk you take of being in the drug game. I just cant believe his phone was on silent when mike was calling him. Now thats a damn shame!
@ryancrules623 also...Gale was cooking meth (the insanely addictive drug that kills a lot of people). he's no saint. and I'm not saying that Walt is either, but at least we knew Walt had an original motive to cook meth - for his family. Who was Gale cooking for? Himself?
@impamiizgraa I know it was really upsetting, do you remember the coffee he made? :-( him being killed sort of spoiled BB for me in a kind of way :-(((
@TheVisibleWind Hank is the most honorable character. Remember that Gale was knowingly manufacturing Methamphetamine on an extremely large scale. Methamphetamine does horrible things to people and even if "they would have gotten it somewhere else" his willingness to do it and associate with criminals makes him less than honorable imo.
@Li0rE Actually, yeah, there I agree with you. Forgot about Hank I guess, was only thinking of the people involved with meth. I actually wanted Hank to find out more, always lol. I didn't really see him as an obstacle to Walt, mainly the other way around. The story was formed wonderfully that way.
I'm so tired of people talking about how Gale was such a victim. He was going to be an accomplice to murder. He knew why Gus was at his apartment, and he agreed to go along with the plan and replace Walt. He agreed knowing full well that it was also a decision to kill Walt. Just because he was soft-voiced and eccentric doesn't make him a dough eyed deer, ya'll.
@texandriller I think you could argue that he was just naive or incompetent. After all, Gus made it sound like Walter was going to die by cancer, not murder. I actually didn't pick up on what was really going on until Walt laid it out explicitly. Of course I can only speak for myself and it might have been obvious to lots of other viewers, but I think I could make an argument that Gale didn't really know the true nature of what was going on. He really liked and admired Walter, after all.
@texandriller didn't Gus tell Gale that Walt had lung cancer and that's why he wanted to know if he could cook without him.Gale didn't know Gus was going to kill Walt, but I do agree that he wasn't a victim do to the fact that he manufactured meth and knew the consequences.
@texandriller Um, no, Gus told him he was dying of cancer, and purposely DIDN'T tell him he was planning on killing Walt. He was completely innocent in that aspect.
@itzahazylife the Student has become the Master, I am 50-50 as to how S5 the final season will be, if Jesse & Walt will still team or be antagonists and if the final series episode will be something blow up, or have a wedding of Jesse with his gf - with Walt as the best man - Jesse has matured as much as Walt has gone Psycho evil, yet they stil make an awesome duo on the show when working with or against each other.
Gale shoulda listened to Walt.. listen to your gut like GUS in Season 4 in the parking garage. Also I read that episode 1 and 13 of season4 are somewhat similiar.. small details.., they put soo much attention to detail.. Most Addictive show ive ever been seduced by. I feel like the show has made me smarter, because you want to know so bad what will happen next u become a detective, like the viewers are all Hank, which i think they are saving for last, Hank finding walt!
Gus didn't merely listen to his gut in the parking garage. He knew he hadn't done anything to poison Brock, so the chat with Jesse and the anonymous tip to the DEA let him know Walt was going to make some kind of move. That's why he didn't get anywhere near his car. It seemed like some super-power sixth sense at the time because we didn't know, but it was actually quick and logical thinking.
The best part of this show is how you forget that all of this is criminal activity. You feel sorry for Gale, but he's just cooking meth for some junkies in a superlab. Not exactly some one most people would sympathize with... but this show is so good at showing you character and conveying emotion you just forget that all of this is just fueling one of the worst drugs imaginable.
I think Walt really did like Gale, but got him fired and Jesse hired for a few reasons:
1. To protect himself. Jesse threatened to bring Walt down if he ever got caught.
2. To get Jesse to drop the charges against Hank.
3. To give Jesse some purpose to his life: a job he's good at.
4. To get his B+ student back. Walt wants to teach, but doesn't want a student to ever equal or outshine him. Gale threatened to do just this, by pre-empting Walt's instructions and even looking more professional.
@kamikrazi123 he fired gale because jesse vowed vengence on hank after hank beat the piss out of him, so walt talked him out of it by offering him the job and 7.5 million dollars a year (split salary).
@musikyle If you watch the scenes involving Walt and Gale before the vow of vengeance, You notice that Walter seems delighted by his new partner but that something is making him uncomfortable about working with Gabe.
@TheOriginalNightHawk Ya your right when jesse killed him it felt like any one could go next because gale was a good guy. Jesse and Walt realy got their hands dirty when they snuffed him out.
@CRACKFACE86 But they did what they had to do to survive, im sure deep down he really did feel like he was the perfect partner. If Heizenburge wasent on that sitiuation and he knew that jesse would be okay and Gus kept his cool they would of been bff
@TheOriginalNightHawk You're right to a certain degree. He should have known the risks, when getting involved in such a horrible, threatening business. But this, this is nothing but a meaningless DICK MOVE.
@MushroomGalaxy69 He did what he had to do to stay alive, i get that. Never the less the show went out with a BIG bang I was blown away, thanks to his death in a way we got to see one of the best endings EVER :)
@TheOriginalNightHawk Pffff I think Gale's a nice guy and everything but it's not like he was innocent. Personally it pissed me off when he makes his 'libertarian' argument for being a meth producer, that what he does is provide a product to consenting adults. He seems way too smart and educated to really believe that, so to me he's just ethically weak, willing to provide poor people a way to slowly kill themselves in exchange for recumbent bikes and high-end telescopes, trips to Thailand.
@punkrockdrummer A United Church? Homophobic insults make you sound really educated AND intelligent. Your responses confirm everything I've said, what have I said that makes me a 'sheep'?
Stalinist? Give me a break. You really believe that there is no correlation between a person's experience and knowledge of the world and their socio-political opinions?
@troublemakir no i like vaginas you hetrophobe, i dont know why you fags think people that arent gay are homophobic, we just dont like assholes batty boy
@jmoney31705 I'm not remotely gay, and I never said anybody was homophobic for being straight. I said that using the word 'fag' as an insult against somebody when you have no reason to think that they are either gay OR straight is homophobic in general. I think that it is you who have a fixation with gayness. Batty boy? What does that even mean anyway, like I'm supposed to have had butt sex with a baseball bat?
@punkrockdrummer Then you are also unfunny, in addition to being uneducated. Attending some university in California doesn't prove much anyway by the way, I wouldn't use that in any more arguments if I were you.

@TheOriginalNightHawk Ya your right when jesse killed him it felt like any one could go next because gale was a good guy. Jesse and Walt realy got their hands dirty when they snuffed him out.
CRACKFACE86 4 months ago

@TheOriginalNightHawk The show only gets better with each episode. I agree, I was absolutely floored.

@MushroomGalaxy69 Do you think there gonna continue ?

@TheOriginalNightHawk What?
MushroomGalaxy69 4 months ago
@TheOriginalNightHawk Pffff I think Gale's a nice guy and everything but it's not like he was innocent. Personally it pissed me off when he makes his 'libertarian' argument for being a meth producer, that what he does is provide a product to consenting adults. He seems way too smart and educated to really believe that, so to me he's just ethically weak, willing to provide poor people a way to slowly kill themselves in exchange for recumbent bikes and high-end telescopes, trips to Thailand.

@troublemakir intelligence/education has nothing to do with socio political views........

@troublemakir you're a conceited stalinist dick. i go to a UC and i'm not a sheep like you so suck it fag
punkrockdrummer 4 months ago
@punkrockdrummer A United Church? Homophobic insults make you sound really educated AND intelligent. Your responses confirm everything I've said, what have I said that makes me a 'sheep'?
Stalinist? Give me a break. You really believe that there is no correlation between a person's experience and knowledge of the world and their socio-political opinions?

troublemakir 4 months ago
@troublemakir no i like vaginas you hetrophobe, i dont know why you fags think people that arent gay are homophobic, we just dont like assholes batty boy
jmoney31705 4 months ago
@jmoney31705 I'm not remotely gay, and I never said anybody was homophobic for being straight. I said that using the word 'fag' as an insult against somebody when you have no reason to think that they are either gay OR straight is homophobic in general. I think that it is you who have a fixation with gayness. Batty boy? What does that even mean anyway, like I'm supposed to have had butt sex with a baseball bat?

@punkrockdrummer Oooh I'm very impressed. I've got both Bronze AND Silver swimming swimming certificates.

@troublemakir i mentioned it because you called me uneducated, dipshit. and the cigarette thing was a joke you dick-licker haha
punkrockdrummer 4 months ago
@punkrockdrummer Then you are also unfunny, in addition to being uneducated. Attending some university in California doesn't prove much anyway by the way, I wouldn't use that in any more arguments if I were you.
