Hahahaha. I try to be really cautious about spoilers. I don't really tweet or Facebook anything, but I reblog on Tumblr like crazy. But usually, Tumblr spoils me before I've had the chance to go on Hulu to watch either Parks and Rec or Community, but I usually ignore it, and it's usually as funny on the show as it would be if I hadn't seen it in .gif form on Tumblr first.
@emmfan09 That is exactly why I try to watch parks/community before i go back on tumblr after they've aired. Most of the episodes are put into a gif the second they're done airing.
Oh, I hate when that happens, but I usually comment during listening, so yeah.. whaaaaaaaaaaat? community is about to get cancelled? that's a shocker (I don't catch up with any info about anything). hopefully they'll change their mind
@taketheumbrella NBC has taken community off of their Thursday night lineup starting in January. They keep saying that they're "shelving" it. That most likely means that it may not be back again.
Ahh.. that's ugly, but it's even worse when you watch a movie and people are guessing the end, even if it is really abvious or so, but it's still a movie I went to watch and I just hate when that happens,a nd it's even worse if it's a person you went to a movie with.. make me feel some hate :D. And when I spoil, I really hate myself, because I take all the possible joy out of the movie/Tv show/ whatever :)
I remember knowing the spoiler for HBP and denying it to be true, because the same rumor came out when Order of the Phoenix was about to be released. Also, a book series I really love (Pendragon) had the entire eighth book spoiled because some reviewer's idiot child posted the entire plot on a forum. This lead to the author's vow to never give away ARCs ever again.
My brother spoiled that fact you mentioned about Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for me the day I bought it, leaving me really upset and of course it kinda ruined the book for me since I knew what'd happen. I have no idea how he managed to spoil it, too, since I bought it on the day it came out D:
Interesting fact: A while ago I read about a study that showed people generally enjoyed watching films if they'd been spoiled first than if they weren't. They said it was because because they already know what happens they can concentrate on the finer details and enjoy the movie as a whole without sitting at the end of their seat wondering what's going to happen. Not that that isn't also fun. and I'd still rather people didn't spoil things but it isn't all that bad :)
How could she not have read harry potter :O Just terrible that is!! I now feel like an idiot who can not use correct grammar...Next thing I know I'll be watching the Twilight movies!
I'm usually the last person to see things, so I rarely able to spoil anything for anyone. And if I cone across a spoiler, which hasn't happened very often, then I usually have time to look away and not read it. Or I know really nice people that say 'SPOILERS.' As professor River Song would say... 'Spoilers.'
Meh. I think if a certain amount of time has passed since the release of a text, you've gotta be prepared that it might be spoiled for you, so you gotta get your shit together and watch/read/whatever before the inevitable happens. If you hear that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's [spoiler] decades after release you can't complain can you?
And Twilight sucks, don't you dare have pity on that girl. She deserved the misery you inflicted on her, and worse. Gosh, Twilight brings out the worst in me.
Noooo don't cancel community, i just discover that show and i really like it.... also, sometimes i spoil things for my friends cause i read and watch more tv than they do, and then they re angry at me.. :P
@Voldey Well they dont want me to feel bad, i just have to think what other may or may not know yet... And may i just say i love that you answer to all the comments in every video, that shows how much you respect your viewers...
I had someone spoil something before a book was even out, like they completely guessed what was going to happen and I was all :( when I got the book, because IT IS WHAT HAPPENED.
@ammiella I wouldn't even call that a spoiler. I'd call that a really good guess. That would be exactly like the people guessing that snape was good throughout the entire harry potter series.
@Voldey I had friends who were nearly 100% sure that SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER Snape was in love with Lily the entire time, and I highly doubt it. ...she also had the biggest crush on who she calls "Sevvy." Sevvy is my favorite character.
It's hard with Harry Potter...the movies came out so long after the books, everything that happened was really old news. It was like, yes, Dobby died. YEARS AGO.
With Twilight, it kind of surprises me that anyone going to see those movies wouldn't have read the books first, but hey. What do I know. If Demon Baby is a surprise to you, that's your business.
I don't mind people spoiling things for me too much. And I'm sure as hell not going to avoid talking about things I want to talk about, just on the offchance that someone who hasn't seen or read them might be listening. Basically, I think that the onus is on the person who hasn't seen or read something to avoid spoilers, not the other way around. In conversation, tell the other person where you're up to. On the internet, gather the strength of will to not read stuff.
@Virini I've gathered the will to not look at anything dark knight rises related. One of my coworkers looks at the stuff all the time and I have to tell him to shut up before he ruins something for me.
Spoiler Alert: In the end we all die. xD Sorry that was lame. I actually do make an effort to not say anything in huge detail about something relatively new. Although, I'm just not affected. It's really weird but even if I know someone is going to die or so and so falls in love, I still am just as into it as if I'd never heard it in the first place. I even feel surprised when it happens which confuses people haha. I guess it's not real until it's "real".
@DreamsMelody I've started to avoid saying anything unless I know that person has reached that part of the show/game/whatever. A few parts of skyward sword were spoiled for me because my coworker and I were playing it at the same time and he didn't remember what happened when.
For most things I really don't care about spoilers, only exception was the Harry Potter books, but since that's all said and done, it doesn't bother me as much. I sometimes even ask people to tell me. I don't know if that's really bad of me, but i don't mind. However, I would never want to actually spoil something for someone else, so I always ask and tell them not to listen before I say something.
@NessaR12 I'm really surprised "snape kills dumbledore" wasn't spoiled for me. I deliberately avoided the internet before and after book 6 and 7 came out. I knew something would get spoiled for me.
I am behind on every form of media. I have gotten good at dodging spoilers & and even trying to forgot things. 2:50 and ruining a persons experience of the media.
Yeah I accidenty spoiled "The english patient" for someone here on youtube a couple of years ago when I commented on the official trailer. I felt bad, but not too bad. I mean the movie had been out for 13 freakin years, what were they living under a rock? I figured that was time enough for everyone to see it, but still I'm very carefull when I post online or talk outloud at a theater, as we all shoud be, it's just common courtesy.
I hate when people do that, Its like why are you freaking out.Why does it even matter if that person voice there opinion about a movie they saw. It shouldn't bother you.Its not like you showed them a video. I did this by accident on a animated short and someone emailed me back saying that I spoiled it for them. Of course I deleted it because I felt a bit bad because of it. Then I was like, hey watch the damn short before reading the comments. Don't be an ass because of spoilers.CRAZINESS.
