I have used the same type of orbitrol on my rig and I have mounted the hydraulic sylinder in a mush more protected place and with my paralell rod over the pinion, not under.
Just send me a msg with your E mail if you want me to send you some pics of my construction.
I want to use my power steering pump on my 96 GMC 5.7 vortech for a single hydraulic cylinder for a snow plow, can someone tell me how to hook this up? should there be a t before the steering box or after? can I weld a box on the steering pump resorvoir to increase the reseve of fluid?
question could you have put it in any other place other than where it will hit everything or are you going to put a rock guard around it to protect it a little?
what orbital valve are you using??? im doing the same loin 2500 ram with the stock 4.0 pump in my xj..just need to know wich one....how many cm????you know?
I saw your video and now I want to use the hydraulic ram on my Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 1987 how can I do?

I can see it is two years since you uploaded this video.
I think you have buildt this system very fragile if you are going to go off road with this rig.
For the first you have mounted the steering sylinder at the worst place of all.
You should hide it more so you dont smash it in the rocks.
And the steering rod between the knockels should been mounted over the pinion, not under it. You wil krack and bend that rod very easy like that.

i have an eaton orbital on mine pushing an 8 in ram. still running the stock power steering pump to the orbital.
steers great even on the street.

Nice rig. But do you have problems with that steering ram hitting rocks? Looks really vulnerable.
