  • did you film wit a calculator?

  • just started the AB (afterburner)...

  • ...That is really fake... at, 0:02 and 0:03

  • @dumpster988

Realize.. How The thing bursts into flames then goes out pretty fast... And also he dosent even flinch! I MEAN HIS 5-10k heli is on fire... If, If, Im saying IF, this is even real... For him not to flinch... He must have some epic insurance plan for this failure.. BURTS- 0:06 Goes Out- 0:11 BTW HE DOSENT even use his fire extinguisher... Its like a normal thing for his heli...

    Agenda-

    1-Turn on heli

    2-Start rotor up

    3-Watch heli catch fire

4- watch expensive heli burst into flame

  • Something tells me that the heli wasn't supposed to do that

  • #LOL

  • 0_0

  • I never saw a helicopter with afterburner #LOL

  • @XCHUSKYXC Most helicopters have a small jet engine... I think.

  • malcolm9001

Its not fake and im not sure that a helicopter can be "gay"

    :)

  • jajaja se le prendio fuego

  • Remember, only YOU can prevent turbine fires! :)

  • @malcolm9001 lol your fake and gay

  • Dear Helicopter,

Don't feed your engines too much... We have enough overweight people.

    Dear Pilot,

Don't stand staring at the beauty of a fire... Don't let it kiss you.

  • Pretty full on hot start ....

  • Loved how the guy just STOOD there, almost catching fire.

  • we have tunning too!

  • What fumes was that thing huffing? djeezh.

  • Hot start? Over-primed? Puddled fuel?

  • I love the smell of hot epoxy in the morning!

  • Loving the hot start! Not loving the noobs who comment on this video.

  • thats 1 way to remove the stickers!

  • definitely a hot start

  • COOL!..........

  • This did not need the fire extinguisher. This is called a hot start and cutting of the fuel extinguishes it because nothing is really burning except excessive fuel being introduced into the combustion chamber of the engine. If after the engine shut off and the aircraft itself was burning that would be a different story.

  • Left engine fire

  • one heck of a hot start. I would have gone the extinguisher.

  • COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • what was he doing. he had the fire extinguisher right there.........

  • @gezelle007 turbines sometimes spit flame during startup. This could be normal startup procedure.

  • o iknow - but this is an rc helicopter not the real thing- the engine in that im sure isnt made as well as the real ones - like allison.. rolls royce, ge, iae lol....

  • - @gezelle007 -

Yeah, that's why they only cost $5,500. Obviously built with no care whatsoever like their $75,000 counterparts.

Considering that these model turbine engines spin at 120,000 RPM, they have to have parts which are well balanced and built to precise dimensions. These have fewer parts than their larger brothers.

I suggest that you buy one...play with it - crash the model it's in...buy another one...THEN comment on how poorly they are built.

  • @pmgodfrey wow, relax dude. its a model. and I am sure that they arent tested as vigurously as the ones that actually carry people in them, otherwise they would be worth the same as the real ones.

  • - @gezelle007 -

My apologies for not putting more humor in it to make it sound more sarcastic... I wasn't attempting to come across as abrasive. Just a wee bit tired after today and finally got a chance to sit and relax in the recliner... Then of course my wife decides to run the microwave for what seems like ever which makes it difficult to browse the web because they both operate near the same frequencies... Oh well.. :)

  • @pmgodfrey ah. its all good here. gotta love wifi though.

  • mkranitz, that was a hot start and not a digital effect. Shadow and heat shimmer present in the vid.

He should look into dialing his pump voltage down.

  • He should have immediately hit it with CO2.

  • lol. It was a ribbon attached to his controller's antenna, not "residual flame graphics".

Notice it moves up and down his hands/controller...

  • lol no it is not. It is called a hot start and it can really damage the turbine

  • I think it was running (or trying to start) a little rich :P

  • Haha.Dope.

  • LOL either way I bet that got his pulse up a few points..COuldnt help but notice him leaning toward the fire extinguisher...LOL..

  • that wasnt a flame out, it was hot start, too much fuel at start up, caused by the pump voltage set up incorrectly.. Or the fuel system was primed prior to start, and the pipe to turbine wasnt disconected.. easily done,

Once you get flames like that let the turbine run to clear it throat, unless you have flames in the cockpit, the worst mistake is to stop the turbine, cos it cools down and drags in air to keep the flames going.

Good one to make the plane flyers run nice machine...

  • that was a HUGE flameout!
