  • The Uploader is a wanker....the average prick that just does not get it....

  • The uploader is well named if this is considered whining.

  • The system is rotten the core. These are not whining people. They are telling it like it is. They are very BRAVE in their struggle in the face of injustice, as sadly, are so many.

  • The injustice of it all is that people are robbed of their earning to prop up the banks losses with NAMA and then the banks come after their homes when the people can no longer meet their mortgage payment. This is supported by OUR government. The banks should have been allowed to go to the wall, if we are living in a true capitalist society.? The banks gambled with our money and LOST. If I gamble with my money I take my losses... WHY not the banks.

  • Too many people miss the point.

  • Too many people miss the point.

  • they have EVERY right to complain about the situation, the people to blame here are the bankers, by labelling this couple "wingers" you are defending the bankers

  • No need to be smug, these are fellow Irish citizens been fucked over like us all.

  • fingers crossed the uploader of this video ends up homeless, lol. That'll teach him to be so smug.

  • If you take out a loan, you should be completely sure your earning enough to pay it back even if your spouse/ partner loses a job especially if the loan is large as in this case. the bank should never have given it in the first place, but this couple should have known better and will now have to face the facts of their stupidity.

  • A cheer up to fuck Mrs!

  • ask the banks why they were allowed by our treasonous government to give 100 % loans they even pushed 100 % loans as the only alternative at one point, why arent these assholes held accountable, they get away scott free from the mess they were allowed to cause..banking and estate developers wrecked this country(i know a couple who were sold a house on a mud plane!) by the same govt that puts up millions of immigrants in asylum hostels and b & b's every year while our wages get cut to shreds..

  • i'm single, i work, i rent and have no debts nor ever have...please, take all my money because obviously you need it more than me. dole should be paying for your mortgage, take it out of my wages. cheers.

  • i wouldnt agree, they are not fair comments, they are awful, can you not see these people were lied to,and how they were conned into buying a house.and how do you know they spent 6000 4a wedding ring, buyers didnt have spare change after buying a house for over 300,000,the caption of how they are irresponsible,i woudnt agree with that either, this couple have 3 children, they have financial responsiblities, and loyalties to their young offspring..unlike the banks who were allowed to act irresponsibly!

  • To balance this out, remember that our government was the genuinely irresponsible agent in all of this, with the banks and the usual culprits close behind. Bearing in mind that no banker has ever been personally fined or jailed in Ireland. It is the government's duty to make policy for social cohesion, in other words to prevent exactly what is being described in this viideo. Cowen bears as much responsbiility as Ahern and so does Harney.

  • @Numinous20111

Hi there, to balance it out completely, U also have to look at these couples and throw their stupidity into the mix. Remember they had no problem paying over the odds for a new car, €30000 for a wedding,€6000 for a wedding ring and must make sure that their kiddies had their expensive presents for Christmas or they might bawl and shout! Irish of this generation did not care about value and thought it could all go on, although what U say is very true also,

    Cheers

  • @Cosairman Fair comments. This couple shouldn't have been selected for this show, they should have chosen a couple with more rational spending/living standards.

  • Urgh Ryan Tubridy...what a sycophantic creep.

  • WHITE PEOPLE PROBLEMS

  • @soundbeans sounds a tad racist

  • @soundbeans white people problems??? what kind of problems do u people have??

  • @soundbeans Because white people are the only race that buys houses, pay tax, have kids in school etc. Your comment is pointless

  • @kcirish it's the sense of entitlement they have, that somebody should fix everything for them. They can feck off.

  • ha ha ha ha .........

  • cooooooonts

  • Research the New world order. THE RESSION WAS DONE BY DESIGN, YOU NEED TO KNOW BY WHO AND WHY. RTE ARE NOT DOING THERE JOB IN INFORMING PEOPLE ON ANYTHING SO JUST BOYCOTT THE BASTARDS AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON THE NEW WORLD ORDER

  • @IslamsVisionofWorld "We could go on and on" like Vincent Browne would say.

Big mental is right for no way would I pay for something that is not worth it.Houses were not worth the prices asked even the house in Cavan that Jason bought. Its the willingness that the people had pay stupid prices is what BMD is suggesting and you have to agree with him there.

Yes, housing appreciation is a trap of sorts even second hand homes. There is no escape there. That part of the market needs to be changed.

  • @IslamsVisionofWorld Part 3.

Whatever level of economic competence and prudence we had in the late 1990s, it was completely forgotten from 2002 onwards with the Whinging couples considering Bertie to be a great man at the time.

Yes Fianna fail became the builders party and did not even raise their voices of caution of the consequences of the construction boom nor did they do a study of the situation as they ought to have done...people may have accepted the results then...or would they?

  • @IslamsVisionofWorld Part 2.

Not suggesting for a moment that I knew a mortgage disaster would happen in 2006 but knew a financial Armageddon of sorts could come down the track from 2002 onwards as the world had recoiled in a minor depression and everything in Europe+US was imported from China. The US was distracted by the Iraq War with a threat of nuclear bomb and all business in Ireland dropped by 30%...but everything was hunky dory BTW according to the likes of the whining couple above.

  • @IslamsVisionofWorld Part 1

Hi there, there are many other videos on this issue where people are loosing their homes in the US and other places. The comments always show where the house buyers were to blame and others whom blame the banks.Maybe everyone needs to examine themselves as to where we were at.. just after the twins towers fell.

In September 2001,did the few wise people say the world is heading for economic trouble of sorts and live within their means?Ans is yes.I was one of them.

  • I don't know these people but the uploader is a disgrace for labelling them as whiners. Shame on you bigmentaldisease.

  • no sympathy for the stupid fuckers. If you take a mortgage, you don't own the house. Stop paying the mortgage and you see where the ownership lies. These people were so happy with their little bit of paper that they couldn't see that the scum that run this 'country' will have their hands in their pockets for the rest of their lives.

  • ye got greedy lads.

  • The government is the problem, they destroyed the economy by bailing out the banks. We had an election and people elected a governent who continued the bailout

"DE BANKS" did not force mortgages on people, people went to the banks and asked for the money.A banks job is to make money!!.STOP MOANING!!!

  • a simple auld calculator would have done ye no harm, plus you look like a frog

  • you actually might have thought at the end, tubridy would go "well....we brought you on this show, because we've made a deal with the banks, to pay the debt." no success stories on the late late, ever!

  • @IrishLassie1986 By the way, your second rabble-rousing, cretinous channel has been blocked now also. Idiot.

  • @IrishLassie1986 I think sheeple does indeed apply to many people. The fact that financial institutions were wrongfully bailed out is not relevant to the point here. Many people were irresponsible, greedy and stupid. That couple don't seem to have learned anything, they are unwilling to accept any blame for their own lack of responsibility. Luckily, many people were able to exercise common sense and acted responsibly. Those people are suffering much less now.

  • @IslamsVisionofWorld Pity that so many people acted irresponsibly and still can't face up to the consequences of their own stupidity. In other words, they haven't learned a thing.

  • @bigmentaldisease Hi there, hope your keeping well,

you still have a lot of people with various opinions on your video here.

I would like you to watch "Bob Simpson The mortgage crisis (IMBA) speech in 4 parts.

Its just 20mins long altogether. He is in charge of the US mortgages banks and shows exactly where he points the finger!

Let me know what you think of it,

    love to hear from you,

    Cheers!

  • she has 1 of them faces that needs a punch lol

  • yawn

  • That cunt looks like E.T. You know who I'm on about.

  • Daddy needs to get off his hole and get some work.

  • Are we suppose to feel sorry for those people? They should have rented. Greed and Status.

  • @TheRingpiece

Hi there, thinking that too. However there is a conundrum here.

If they all wanted to rent instead of buying the homes then it would have fuelled the tycoon ism of the Landlord wannabes whom as we know bought houses after houses to rent out...As a result housing surplus and price increase would still have come about in the same way causing near the same economic catastrophe...I think.

Once the banks threw out the lending rules since 2003 that was it.

    Agree?

    Cheers!

  • @Cosairman

Thanks for reply. I do sympathise with these people. But they just don't get it. Why buy a house with a 40 yr mortgage with repayments of 1200 per month say when they could have rented for half the price? How long are they planning on living? The assumption was that long term inflation would reduce the real value of their repayments. But what next for this couple? Go on the Late Late Show and have a moan at Ryan who is so far removed from reality that he can't even argue.. get a job.

  • @Cosairman Don't know if you ever listened to Morgan Kelly during the Boom Years but he warned against such traps. There's some pretty good clips on You Tube from 2007/2008 from Prime Time.

A housing bubble may inflate house prices but rent prices are always a more accurate gauge on supply and demand for housing as there is no speculation involved in one's decision to rent a home (on usually a short term basis). My Opinion Only. What do I know?

    .

  • There is no whining going here they telling the truth, When the government can bailout banks and the banks can write off huge amounts of scam done by their boss why cant the same be done for the hard working people, Most of the jobs are being laid off and once company's got the knowledge that they can get away with cutting jobs and hours there is no turning back. The government is there for the rich and not for the poor.

  • @shaerkhan82 PART 1

Hi,a lot of what U say is true.

However Jason, his wife and the couple next to them with a €485000 home in arrears were never prudent and would pay though the nose for everything as money was never ending BTW. Pay €30000 plus for their wedding?Yes! Have a new car? Yes! That been said, the same prudence should have applied to the banks!

Government had"The Bacon Report" in 2002 which recommended what should be done to prevent the Housing bubble from starting which they ignored.

  • @Cosairman Yes you are probably right. Look I am student here doing MBA and by the way the Irish spend is like they dont care partying, drinking, holly day making. The banks are the worst they act as if they are above all and well people doesnt care and the most weird is the news papers out ten probable one or two can be called news paper and the rest in my country will be called pornographic. Ireland needs to wake up big time. God has given almost every thing to Ireland so wake up and utilise

  • @shaerkhan82 PART 2

BMD has a allocated all the blame on the guys on the show and in a way he is right.I would suspect that the legal profession were also a part of the problem for talking up the housing market through out the years from 1996circa onwards. There are solicitors who have at least 30 or way more properties and abroad who are in trouble and are keeping quiet! Nama admits there is 1person who has 300 loans+600properties!!!

If the Pillars of Society blundered what then of Jason??

  • @shaerkhan82 PART 3

BMD believes previous generations were more sensible than this one.Maybe, this generation were just offered more money.

The debate will always go on for a time as housing property is multifaceted to its importance, its price and how people perceive it.Some people get it right, more so than others.People bought into (a lot of)it,early or late whatever the case. The conclusion here is, that money was/is a finite source+how we treat it is challenge ahead for all of us,

    Cheers!

  • They are not Whinning, the are right.

  • @kevkeary Hi if you saw their mansion house in Cavan on Prime time 2 weeks ago you might have a different opinion. You kind of get the impression that they are Muppets.

Why not go for an small affordable house of €175000 or less???

Answer:Not good enough for Big Jason!

They come across as "The entitled to" mentality.

However The banks, Government and Builder cartels did play a part in the overall problem as I have debated strongly with BMD.

    Cheers!

  • Hi BMD,

Did you see their big house on Prime Time?

I thought it would be a small house for their needs.

I owe you an apology BMD,

    Cheers!

  • I agree with what you say. However these particular People bought on the trust that the Gov and banks were looking after the financial economy well. The opposition did nothing to make noise either.Berties Buy now or commit suicide attitude did not help either.

If your video was about "The Property Council" and David Mellors whining,I would agree with you more.Anyway, thanks for your prompt replies to my comments,

    Cheers!

  • Did Tubridy say that he found children "bootyfull"????? WTF

  • "Is'nt the government the bank's boss?"

that kid needs to grow a brain quickly.

  • @neilandrewporter the kid that said it is 7 ya stupid cunt

  • "Is'nt the government the bank's boss?"

that kid needs to grow a brain quickly.

  • fair enough its their responsibility for sure. but for numerous social and economic factors these people had no choice but to buy in places like cavan. no he's laid off and if they want to move back to dublin they cant because of negative equity and no one will buy their house. the irish obsession with owning property goes back to penal times when the english took eberything so its understandable

  • Ah why does she want to sell here home?? Feck sake..why are Irish people so obsessed with 'owning'm their own 'home'. If they truly want a 'home' they shouldn't be so obsessed with the value decreasing..It's your home!!!

  • I know, a few years back everyone was obsessed with owning their own homes. All the people who were incredibly stupid are suffering now. It galls me to see people trying to blame the banks for their idiotic decisions. The banks didn't force them to take on a huge mortgage against common sense. Typical lack of personal responsibility.

  • @bigmentaldisease Hi there, bought house in Laois in June 2000 for €114500 with 10% put down which was a lot of money at the time but just before the boom.I too felt its now or never.Plumbing business was good.Just over a year later the twin towers collapsed and business dropped 30%&more.I was afraid I might loose home. However things just panned out OK.

It was the banks that were to blame not those who felt like I did "Its now or never."

    Cheers!

  • @Corsaircid I don't agree that it was the banks that were to blame, as you say. I say that those who bought a house, feeling that it was 'now or never' are responsible for their actions. Why was it 'now or never'? Business is never guaranteed to be good, jobs are never guaranteed to last; nobody is owed a house.

  • @bigmentaldisease Hi, when the blame game starts, everbody is to blame. Banks offered money easily when they&Government /Financial institutions should said no.Houses are worth what Supply/Demand but also what banks are willing to lend.House prices were never ment to fall!

Although you are correct in saying that there are no guarantees in business,if the prudance of the banks/government held the house prices would have been sold for 35%less.Therefore Neg values would not be steep.

    Cheers!

  • @Corsaircid And if these people had been responsible, then they would not have taken out huge loans even though business or jobs are never guaranteed. It's just that everybody thought they deserved to own their own house and didn't feel that they should have to wait.

I believe that the only person to blame is oneself. I know plenty of people who could see exactly what was happening and allowed their common sense and intelligence to override greed and impatience.

  • @bigmentaldisease Hi,were the people responsible for the over housing supply for to neg Equity problem? Also houses are built to be bought at whatever market price.

I agree that people should live within their means. However, these couples were not tycoons buying 3 and 4 properties. It was property tycoonism that was a problem with people wanting large portfolios.

Government should have stopped this by giving preference to 1st time buyers only.Supply would meet demand at a fair price.

    Cheers!

  • @Corsaircid The people were living beyond their means, and blaming the banks after the fact doesn't change that. It's a lack of personal responsibility. A lot of reckless folk taking out huge loans for vastly inflated properties because they wanted to get on the ladder. Then when things went tits up, using the misbehaviour of everyone else to absolve themselves. Plenty of people saw the bubble (& the Govt) for what it was and held off. The sensible and responsible people, in other words. Cheers!

  • @bigmentaldisease Agree with what you say.

However banks were part of the fact not just after it.People were offered loans bigger than they wanted. You tend to isolate the home buyers only. They were part of the problem.People saw the problem and thought it might go the way of Holland and buy now.A person who bought in 2005 had no idea that the Builders/Speculators would over supply the houses in 2007 financed by the banks!Any chance of downloading the story of the other couple?

    Cheers!

  • @Corsaircid People offered loans bigger than they wanted? Pity those people didn't exercise their free will. I'm telling you that I know people in that situation who refused to buy a house when everyone else was, because they had been saving for a number of years and could see the outrageous inflation in the price of mediocre properties. I'm talking about home buyers because that's what the video is about.Say whatever you like, those people made ridiculous decisions and are now paying the price.

  • @ococlaire Over-priced rent is part of the problem.
