always use 1% two stroke oil in your fuel to prevent engine and fuel system wear and corrosion caused by modern E10 Eco Fuel! Its just too dry and aggressive to your engine and pump and tank materials. 2 Stroke oil neutralizes the acid in the modern eco-fuel.
Very nice, though despite the sound the pipes made I'd have it set up differently. I'd do the colour differently as well, but that still looks lovely!
@rsl000 if you want another view of those pipes check out: 74911RS - dot - com... they are actually fine. they don't hit anything and they sound spectacular. They are actually tuned to that length. Quiet in the car, especially with CIS which is what my 74 has.
Dont forget to put 1:100 two stroke Oil API TC into the tank for each fill, because thats good for the carbs and the pistons..modern fuel does not take care of the old engine materials!
I can tell by the sound, there is alot of engine there..lacking timing advance. A modern ignition would do wonders...I love that engine. 2.7liters to the six is the 1800cc to the four (both natural calm winners-very peasant)
Fantastic Porsche!! The modern day watercooled Porsche's dont compare to this lightweight aircooled beauty!. Where abouts do you live? I want a ride lol!!
Sounds awesome

I'd want to replace the solid spoked steering wheel with a banjo spoke wheel and wood rim, in a car like that.

never forget use 1% two stroke oil in your fuel to prevent corrosion and engine wear.
Modern fuels are too agressive and dry.
All german vintage Porsche drivers use 1% API TC Two stroke oil in their fuel

Regretfully sold my 72 a few years ago and miss it dearly(it's now in Ireland).
Having fun in an 1989 E30 M3 for now, but will be back in a flat 6 one day. I sure muss starting the ignition with my left hand:).

but what kind of engine is there on it? of course it's not the original one, that 2.7 had 7500 rpm at maximum
cortegosopablo 2 years ago
@cortegosopablo
7300.
RS had same cams as regular S, and the same Tach meter...
going to 7500 would serve no purpose whatsoever as the powerband has peaked below 7300...
