I JUST made a parts tele from Warmoth. At least I got all custom pickup route, my choice of pickups and pickup configuration.
If this is what you're into, I'd say go with Warmoth, they are actually licensed with Fender to make and sell "replacement" bodies and necks. So it doesn't look close to fender, it is a real tele body and neck and headstock.
For guitars that are only AAA woods and selling for $2849.99 MSRP, I am unimpressed. They seem great, but for that price I could get something that looks just as nice, with better quality woods, and the pickups of my choice.
Bringing politics into a conversation about a new product from Fender is just ridiculous. Amazing new guitars from Fender. That Koa Tele, Wowser !!! Lastly, Rebecca Dirks needs to be doing more than just these gear reviews. And if she is i want to know about it. She could make ya feel good about a $75 chinese squire guitar.
@richfiryn It's not politics "Einstein" it's about FAIRNESS in marketing. It's RIDICULOUS that non-Caucasians are mostly IGNORED in the guitar-oriented genres of Music. BTW, why do "White" guitar players *really* fear non-white guitar players? Insecurity much? Do they feel that non-Whites belong playing cRap/R&B/Disco/whateva & aren't worthy of being recognized in Rock, Punk or Metal? Trust, LOTS of Us non-Caucasians (Blacks, Hispanics, Asians) Rock, Shred & bash Garage Punk "too"...
... Rebecca's a doll. Early '90s Strat Pluses also had flamed tops & humbucking bridge pups... if you can count dual-coil Lace Sensors as "humbuckers". BTW that's 60 years of Mexicans slapping together bolt-on neck guitars & basses, which is a lotta guitars... & a lotta Mexicans too. So why aren't there more Mexicans in business suits working @ Fender U.S.A.? Hmmmm... Fender? Mind you, "Freddy Fender" was your guitars' main Hispanic ambassador in the '70s... & he wasn't even a Fender endorsee...
@rigorhead01 That there isn't a whole lotta Mexican/Central Americans in higher administrative positions @ Fender U.S.A. OR signed on as endorsees... EVEN THOUGH Mexicans/Hispanics have made up the MAJORITY of Fender U.S.A.'s workforce for decades & AS IF there aren't Mexican/Hispanic professional musicians using Fender equipment or ANY gear-you don't see a whole lotta Mexican/Hispanic musicians endorsing musical intruments- they're MOSTLY Anglo-American or Anglo-European. THAT'S what I "meant".
@BillDerBerg ... & though the workforce in Mexico obviously has Mexican Hispanic/Nationals working @ its factory in higher positions... why aren't there any working in here @ Fender U.S.A.? Separate but equal? I thought we did away w/ those "Jim Crow" laws... ;)
@yourboykarp Yep, LOVE Rebecca. Best musical instrument interviewer ever. I wouldn't be suprised if we didn't see her working on one of the major television networks soon, like doing the 10 o'clock news or something..
Damn the guitar is hot, the demo dude can shred and the interview actually sounds like she knows what she is doing! Maybe this is the new feature of NAMM!
I just saw the new Fender ad for these and was curious about them. Looks like they kind of took a page out of G&L's book with the figured tops. I kind of like them though!

I wish Fender would try and innovate new guitars & designs, rather than new looks for Strats and Teles.
