I loved this game and the rest of the seasons. The final season was to plot focused which doesn't fit the mood of Sam and Max in my opinion but as a game it was very creative and, of course, hilarious. Even the puzzles can be struggled through just to hear those lovely pieces of dialogue. The creater, Stever Purcell, said the plot of the comics were just excuses to give the characters something to talk about, and boy does that formula work!
@Multi3DSlover Yeah did you look it up yet? All of the episodes are easy to find here on YouTube. Its short lived but really good, a lot of childish humor but also adult humor and innuendo that will go right over a little kid's head.
I'd recommend buying this game for PC if possible instead of the Wii. Once I got a free Sam & Max game from Steam for free, and it was pretty awesome. I can see why the Wii version can be glitchy at times, as it is a port. However, on a PC (provided you have a fast enough one), all of these issues are virtually non-existant.
I'm more of a console person, myself...but some games just work better on PC. Just look at The Sims for example.
This is one of the funniest, yet most confusing game I own for the Wii. While I was always looking for the next piece of dialogue, because every cutscene was hilarious, I was also confused by the puzzles. While some where easy to figure out, most of them where really hard, almost aggravating. I have yet to beat a single episode and I've been playing for I think 1 or 2 years.
I grew up on lucasarts games, loved the genre. Anyway just played through episode 1 of Back to the Future and pulled a 2 day marathon after getting hooked on season 1 of Tales of Monkey Island.. VERY VERY addictive.
This shit ? I mean seriously. There was too much.. way too much stuff to click on screen to follow the story line. Jokes were VERY dull and forced, just irritatingly retarded. 30 mins in and only got through 3 screens and nowhere in the story. lame game
Got S1 for Wii, 20$ (New shockingly, originally 40$ here in Canada apparently). I Love it. Beat Episode One, and some of the video tells me you got far in it.
Hey thanks for making this review; you got me into the demos which got me into what I think'll be my fav game of all time.
Oh and BTW, I find that the game doesn't have ABSOLUTELY no replayability. Talking about gameplay, no it doesn't. But if you LOVE the story, script, voice acting and humour, you'll want to replay it (I understand u wouldn't, and its opinion). I'm gonna get this game as my first 360 game, and I can tell it'll be my fav (or one of my favs).
Few things: 1) If you haven't rented it before, and you can't buy it for rent, do you think its worth 20$ on Wii/X360? 2) Are you gonna try Season 2 later (i.e. Christmas Break or Summer Break)? 3) Whats your: *Hardest Episode *Easiest Episode *Best Episode *Funniest Episode *Least-Liked most Episode 4) Have you tried any of Season 2's PC Demo? If not, can you? The demos are on TellTale's website. 5) What score would u give the game if it didn't have technical issues?
@FreQuenczy - Oh. After playing Eps 1-3's demos, the entire 4th ep and episode 5's demo (im saving ep 6 for later), I REALLY want to buy this game. I'll get it on 360 or Wii or PC. But how come you don't think its worth a buy? IMO, its addicting and fun and satisfying 2 play. I'm one of those people who LOVES stories like i saw in this game, so I'll like this.
Oh yeah, what episodes have you and have you not completed/tried? And did u beat the game?
@Subscriber0101 Yeah, I'll admit I had to use a walkthrough like 2-3 times. I can't say for sure, but I think it took me about 6-8 (10?) hours to beat. Critical thinking'll get ya.
I love playing this game It's great that all 6 episodes are unlocked at the beginning. This game does seem to require some brain power though. I liked the crude humor. It made me laugh out loud several times.
@TigerTaint Well it's the lowest Awesome! if that makes you feel better. Also, it's just a title. People need to look at the # more than the title. And a 3.75/5 is a 7.5/10 which I do not consider slightly above mediocre.
@IslandBros15 For those reasons yes, and also, it's definitely not a game for everyone. If you're looking for a game that will give you instant gratification, look somewhere else. However, if you're a patient person, you might enjoy this game.
you know the problem is that telltale listen to the complains about the crude humor of this game and make season 3 completely family friendly dialogs and stuff i wonder if telltale will bring season 3 to wii when the season is finished
That must be a problem with the Wii version. I have Season 1 on XBOX Live Arcade and the framerate doesn't seem to suffer there. PC version is prolly just as good too. :P
@ArnhildHH at least the wiimote is better for point-and-click games than a regular controller would be, although i cannot say it's better than a mouse
i just got that game today

2. Most likely no. It would have to be a Magical Chicken request.
3. Can't remember.
4. Nope, and I don't know.
5. Probably a 4/5

3:06 - 3:16
I have had that problem in other point-and-click games where you walk like Strong Bad and this game's PC Demo and Episode 4 as a free download.
What was I saying about 3:06 - 3:16? Oh yeah, I think thats more of an issue with the game than a Control issue.

Despite the downsides you gave, I'm considering buying the game because of the humor!
