  • It's not safe to run that fast on linoleum floors. :)

  • oh my god it's jack nicholson :D

  • Run Forrest, run!

  • This is a decent quick fix but I suggest looking into the Cam Caddie SCorpion it's only $38 and it's done a great job getting me very smooth professional quality shots.

  • lol

  • awesome idea! Thanks for sharing it with us!

  • Thanks - thats a very impressive effekt! Good idea! Thanks für sharing and greets from Germany,

    Linus

  • Have you watched the films Army of Darkness or Evil Dead 2? This reminds me a lot of what Sam Raimi does with his cameras. I hear he gets the technique though by attaching the camera to a wood plank with ropes on either side so it can go over cars and such though, or on a long boom arm. The effect is very similar.

  • i was wait for him to turn a corner and scare the shit out of some kid

  • you're a goddamn genius

  • Thanks for the great insights!

  • You sound like a gerbal running haha

  • WIN

  • whoaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks a lot!!!

  • You ran Fast for an OLD Man holding the camera :)

  • looks like a little gremlin runing... lol

  • AMAZING! I can't find the words to say how AWESOME this is!

  • i yous to do this, but i find the 14 dollar steady cam was more reliable to me, next year i might make the merlin

  • > i find the 14 dollar steady cam was more reliable

@javieralza yeah, you really need a crossbeam to stop the sideways wiggle of pan motion. The more it costs, the better it works.

  • shahahaha lol its really stupid!! i cant stop laughing!!! ..........you're the fastest runner in the world... hahahaha damm it!!!!

  • awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome :D

    I HAVE to try this!!!!

  • not really a steadicam

  • NVM! i figured out how to do it in my editor... what u did right here with the camera upside down and then inverting it in your editor is a good idea... i was just gunna leave my footage upside down.. this helps

  • what editing softwhere do u use? i have a steadicam i built and i did exactly what u did but i need to flip the video.

  • LOL - WHEW! You sure run fast.

  • haha ;D really nice

  • That reminds me of when danny's riding his bike around the hotel in the shining!

  • 0$ Steadicam from junk

    watch?v=B5FMTjcF2Ng

  • how do find out about this stuff? O.-

  • > how do you find out about this stuff?

Keep having lots of stupid ideas. And write them all down so they don't get lost. Test out the best ones. If they work, put them on youtube.

Here's the secret: if you try to block your stupid ideas, then ***all** your ideas dry up. Your brain won't play with you anymore. See, it's impossible to have purely good ideas. If you try that, you're screwed. Instead, just have HUNDREDS OF IDEAS. Sort them out later.

  • @wbeaty dude, that is an awesome doctrine. thanks u r totally right

  • @wbeaty: you are a very wise man. thank you

  • Wow

  • I'm totally stealing that! Thank you!

  • This stupid steady-cam trick is brilliant!!

  • lol thats a nice trick!

  • Round the next corner: "Come play with us Bill, forever, and ever" :P

  • > forever, and ever

lol. I like to creep out friends by staring into space, wiggling my finger like a handpuppet that isn't there ...and saying "I'M SORRY, THE WILLIAM ISN'T HERE RIGHT NOW. ONLY ME." (Do it in a funny voice. Grover, or Yoda.)

  • @wbeaty It's even more fun if you wear a red and white checked gingham dress, with army boots, while you do it :D v=hKHLOo1WgDQ

  • woo

  • damn, why did I never think of that? Could've solved some of my shooting problems! Thanks!!

  • you are right in a great reveal........thanks !!

  • MIND-BLOWING

  • so cool man!

  • Awesome!Kinda like evil dead, but faster and less shaky.

  • i just blue chuncks!

  • damn..at first..i thought he was running that fast....

  • that is really smart!!!! thanx!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha that's awesome!

  • nice one... it could be used in a movie for sure>

  • haha never thought about that

  • this trick would be good to film parkour

  • That made me nauseous toward the end, but I get motion sickness easily!

Funny! That would work in a movie like "Gremlins" or something with little creatures or a car or other vehicle!

    Ha ha! :-)

  • キタ━━━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━━━ !!!!

  • wow you run pretty fast!

  • that was awesome! Good work

  • cool

  • Inspired.

  • I write in spanish cause want to be clear, sorry (but you are much smarter than me, and will figured how totranslate it...)

  • google translator isn't that good. D:

  • damn you ran fast!

    haha

  • great idea beaty! i think i'll use this for my film chasing the little imaginary cars and helecopters around...

  • Man that was perfect!!! Very inventive and imaginative...Nice work :)

  • you're awesome

  • ahahahah that was brill

  • you're the fastest runner in the world. ;-)

  • Thank you for your tips. By the way, I tested my tripod as a steady cam and it really does make a difference.

  • hahaha I first thought you ran that fast

  • Nice job--Thanks --

  • Great tip. Loving your tips. Keep 'em coming.

  • I've made a rotative head to put on the poor man's steadiicam so I can do the same without the editor trick and can do fluid "fly" shots

  • That's not stupid, that was a fun trick and lends itself to all sorts of imaginative ideas for video. Thanks :)

To the naysayers and critics who make harsh comments: Not *everyone* has been filming for months or years and we like learning new techniques and building upon them.

  • haha lol... you call that a STEADY CAM? :P Check my vid to see what a real steady cam looks like....

  • it's pretty cool,i don't see why you find it funny,... ohh cause you think inside the box

    Grow up

  • It's funny because it is not even like a steadycam... this is not even worth calling it the poor man's steadycam....... this is what normal people like to call... flipping your tripod upside down.... not a steady cam -_-' even the REAL poor mans steady cam is way better

  • that was really cool wicked will make one asap

  • omg sweet man! it's almost like an expensive steady cam cept it's cheap! w00t. also, i'm becoming an ammiture film maker and heres a tip... to make your films seem classier, don't use the microphone provided with the vid cam, they're cheap and crappy, buy a cheap $40 headset and talk through the microphone, that way when you do tricks you don't hear that annoying "klankity-klank" noise when the microphone hits something.

  • WoW! Amazing tip! Thank you!

  • do work In a university or high school?

  • great running sound!! ;-)

  • is it accelerate ???

  • RED RUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hahaha I could just picture the scene of you running trough the hall with your steadycam upside down, lol, (I know it was sped up) Anyway, cool trick! I'll add it in one of my videos one day, thanks!!

  • I'm always practicing the "cameraman's walk," where your body glides along ...like the vampire's wives approaching the victim on the bed. Like the princess descending the staircase with a book balanced on her head. (But I was doing it just to screw with people, since it looks so weird.) Later I found it useful for video shots.

  • Thanks!

    Very useful trick!

  • woohoo that looks great, just like Stanley´s steady cam from the shining

  • exactly what i was thinking!

  • The camera goes zooming along a crowded sidewalk, causing people to scream scatter. (People watching the video won't know it's because the cameraman is naked w/Nixon mask.)

The camera goes zooming across the campus lawn towards a guy against a tree and... IT'S BRUCE CAMPBELL!!!

  • Excellent trick, I'll have to remember that one.

  • how the heck didnt i thought of that :D

Fantastic tip mate, Ill defiantely use it in my vid

    cheers!

  • cool idea

  • nice one ---

  • good for home movies only

  • ye but the steadicam so much better! Good idea tho

  • DOPE!

  • haha that's awesome

  • Again youre the man, those corridors look very nice, can I come and skate them?

  • you run kinda fast,

    good video 5 stars

  • Sped up vid, you silly foof.

  • zOMG thank YOU! this is what i've been looking for! +fav

  • i used the trick in my latest video. It looks cool.

  • you are genious....

  • kwl.

  • it's a cool trick ... now I finally know how this trick is getting made ;)

  • pretty neat :)

  • That was revealing. It appeared that you increased the speed while you were running (the steps sounded like 2 or 3x normal), but the image was incredibly steady, even at that speed. That means that the image was super steady at normal speed. Thank you.

  • Thank you SOOO Much for this idea! Steadicam and reverse effect!

  • Thank You.

  • Kinda made me lol...

  • lol listen to ur feet.

  • Sweet! Dude i'm gonna try that in one of my videos! It's something thats so simple yet I never would have thought of it.

  • COOL

  • cool stuff, I gotta try and use that some time!

  • lol, nice effect :)

  • Wow, now I know what it feels like to be a cockroach!
