I loved the movie, but the tv show was plain dumb. Only watched a few episodes after the pilot and the whole thing didn't make sense acording to its own original premise.

The book--and the movie, were Far more accomplished, complex, thought-provoking, and eons-beyond the quality of the TV show. Mostly just another bad '80s sci-fi time killer, for the TV addicted.

The tv show had a council (hidden of course) of old men who decided the fate of the city. It was better to have it run by computers and totally anonymous. Why have old men kill young people?

I remember watching this when I was a child in the states. Too bad the show hasn't been released on DVD yet. Maybe after the new movie is released they might release the old show on DVD.

Heh yeah they planned to do it round 2005? but its been delayed so many times i dont remember too much of it since i was a kid but yeah it would be awesome to up date the story effects etc
