I remember that when i used to play this game i would finish the first mission you get right when you start. Luckily it would leave you near the tank. Id get into that tank and go back to the starting point and go around the block a couple of times, running over countless amount of cop cars until i had enough money to go onto the next level. I remember askng my mum to get me some monster truck game for pc when I was a kid, and she spent all night on the pc trying to find it, and in the morning downloaded this and asked if it was the game. I was dissapointed when it wasn't, then I realized that this game was the fucking coolest game ever, and I played it every day for a long long time.

The gang system in GTA2 was great! When gang thrusted you, you could do missions for them & they helped you sometimes, but when they hated you they attacked you on their territory. I really loved it.

Too bad they didn't put this on GTA3 or any other GTA game

Wow these games are old. I've never seen them before it's almost like they never existed. This probably had to be one of the few games that really benefited from the 3 dimensional behind the character view because this is like not so great. I like how they have both the old logo they used for lemmings and the new logo they use now on this game that probably explains why it's freeware it belongs to a company that technically can't make money off it anymore.

GTA 1 and this one were the only games of its kind and people didn't give a shit about how the graphics looked back then, they cared about what the gameplay was like, and they loved it.

Ah...maybe my favorite GTA. Countless hours wasted on this one. I still play it a lot to this day. It may not have the graphics, but this game is so fun. I mean, I can't even begin to describe how fun this game is to me. It's simple, it had pretty shallow gameplay, the graphics aren't nowhere near today's standards, the radio stations are limited, there isn't as much interactivity...but something about this game makes me keep coming back. My most played GTA by far. Love it to death.

@Pokepimp30875 I have a backup of it on Dreamcast for when I want to pop it in and play it on a console, but it's free for PC now. I prefer the PC version over the console versions just because you can switch the lighting if you want. I think it's always night time on the Dreamcast version if I remember correctly.

It is amazing to consider that this game had less linearity in its missions than all the later installments in the series! Don't get me wrong , I really enjoy Vice City and San Andreas

but they are much more linear ( and wayyyyyyy easier) than Gta2, not in terms of exploration but in terms of mission structure and choice ! ( forget my bad english!)
