  • I'm ex military... I see all I'm proud about my service in this song...

I also see why I got out...

I don't want you to see me in all my glory, I want to decline...

  • this took guts.people so fear their military.

  • I'm obsessed with the riff.

  • Still my favorite band.

  • I remember seeing this video on TNT. They did a late night show on the weekends where they showed cheesy drive in movies and alt band (though we didn't call it that then) videos. Hard to believe, but true.

  • i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE these guys, where is Mike Connell?????

  • @ArchangelMichaelArch Look up the law firm he works for, Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog in Raleigh, NC. No kidding.

  • doug, mike, peel and the boys let it be what it was....if you enjoyed it, cheers. But these Carolina boys are not ones to shove music down the nations throat. Shit, gives us old cats things that are OURS!

  • wow, I didn't know they made any videos...

  • Boylan Heights is easily the greatest pop record in the post Beatles era. Remember this--those who know-know. Connells now and forever.

  • Does anyone know if there will be actual re-releases from the Boylan Heights and Darker Days albums? Since Bycicle Records purchased the rights there's been a digital release, but some people actually still prefer the oldfashioned CD with booklet and jewel case :)

Great song. Doug's vocals are fabulous. Very underrated vocalist.

  • @CrackedPleasures I'm so happy I still have my vinyls of these! Not even from NC.

  • YES! YES! YES! Much of The Connells catalog is now on MP3 - Amazon.com has them. Yes! Yes! Yes!

  • Boylan Heights is one of those albums I put in the cd player, play it all the way through and I am transported back to younger days for about an hour. One of the best albums ever.

  • great band. I saw them at the Cotton Club YEARS AGO in Atlanta several times, then they "disappeared".. Where are they??

  • @Stinger4186 I grew up with these guys. Not sure what everyone is up to ( even tho I'm friends with them on fb..lol ) but I do know that Peele ( the drummer ) is a bigtime director in Hollywood now.

  • Thanks for posting!Great band with a great sound!Does anyone else have some rare stuff? All I got is the CD single and the CD Ring!

  • Whiter than white. Even with the drummer.

  • Thank you for uploading and thereby letting us all experience this great sound!

  • inspiring and wild shows...people go nuts for em live

  • I saw them at University of Florida in 1987 - great show. I had the Boylan Heights album but lost it in the 90's would love to be able to have it back! I always wondered why they never made it bigger.

  • love the Connells so much - miss them

  • The best thing I ever heard about The Connells is that they refused to draw attention to themselves. The music spoke for itself. Transcendent US/UK drinking anthems. Set 'em up.

  • i loved this band even before I knew Urkel was their drummer. Just kidding, Peele. love ya.

  • re zombiepil, I think real guys have more sex appeal than rock posers with teams of stylists. And world, I love this band!

  • I really miss those good times, where we judged the bands on their music skills instead on there sex appeal.

  • Loved going to their shows

  • More apt now than ever. Nowadays those kids would probably be carrying REAL MAC-10s!

  • this song is life this band is life

  • well said denise!

  • Great song from 1987. Video made in '88.

  • I always wondered what happened to that first kid that falls down in this video. Is he famous now?

  • why this wonderful band is so understimate?
