can someone help me in how to connect my audio source to equalizer and amplifier ?
I tried many connections, but couldn't get any success :( * The Laptop (audio out) to the (Input) of the equalizer, and the (output) of the equalizer to the (audio In) of the amplifier (which is MONO), It didn't work.
They are old equipments, so I can't find the user manuals.
Haha one day I said to my teacher: I don't care about all these numbers, you have to do it by your ears. Then he awnsered: than you'll never get in the studio XD faggot.
Right. Don't use your ears, look at the analyzer. And remember to use Peavey equipment to tune your PA, forget such pro-audio devices like BSS, DBX and Klark Teknik.

PS. I don't know why I even bothered to watch this crap...
@Homokentti hhahaha I was thinking the same thing, I mean if you work on this stuff you must have at least a very well trained ear, plus you don't have access to an analyzer and RTA mic anywhere, and those also have small differencies between them, and what's with the Peavey EQ lol xD I guess they liked it because its made in the USA, its like a Ford Pinto.
@Homokentti very true, most of what he said made sense until he said that- I know many engineers who DON'T EVER use spectrum analysers- they DO use their ears. It's all about what sounds good afterall....
@benmcc76 I think the only way is to go from the outs of your mixer to the inputs of the EQ and then through the outs of the EQ to whatever you want (i.e. mixer ,or speakers.)
The correct way to patch an eq to your console is to use the output inserts on the console...NOT connect it between the console and the x-over/processor
is not that hard, you need to practice, I use to cut three eq bands at the time then put them back on till I find the culprit, train your ear, it'l pay off, trust me. Are you a musician? Because if you are you are not a good one (since your ear is not working properly, no ofense.), About these videos are excellent, not for the rookie tho.
Don't see what calling freq's by ear when tuning a room with graphic eq has to do with being a good musician, 'no offence' but your way off, a good ear for 'music' is an entirely different thing to a good ear for 'sound' believe it or not.
"Are you a musician? Because if you are you are not a good one (since your ear is not working properly, no ofense"
kind of harsh dont you think?sounds like something i might have said when i was a kid, but i wouldn't assume some one can't play without hearing them first, not from a video.lots of great musicians don't have perfect pitch for instance , in fact almost no-one does. if you do count yourself lucky.
I'm not dissing on the guy in the video, I'm quoting a previouscomment that was deleted .he said the guy must not be a good musisian because he couldn't set the eq by ear and i thought that was a bit harsh!
Setting room levels dynamics etc is done with white noise generator a calibrated one lol, then a mic and spectrum anylizer again calibrated this means you can boost and cut the spectrum to achive your baseline around the room aim to draw a triangle from the stage. now you need to adjust the material of the performance thats what takes the skill thats the boost cut by ear skill etc oh and when the punters come in its all fucked again hence ear skills and you do need like the material to master it
it's called pink noise not white, In pink noise, each octave carries an equal amount of noise power. The name arises from being intermediate between white noise and red noise. Buy a DOD RTA-4315 sell on ebay for around 200.00 worth the price.
@NoiseFieldBand@NoiseFieldBand I actually once did a house EQ as (almost) a smiley face at the behest of an argumentative punk band. Not something I'm proud of, but I had to admit... I actually did like it.
In the real world (touring, festivals, and other major events) it's actually quite rare that you find an engineer who cannot call freqs by ear. It's part of the job, and those who can't do it get a lot less work than those of us who can. This guy is totally wrong when he says "you can't do it by ear".
I have an Alesis M-EQ-230 but I don't know how to connect it to my dj Equiptment. I have a Crown Amplifier / a Denon Mixer DN-050 Mixer and a Denon dual CD Player 4500. Now how to I connect this EQ?? - Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey guys, could anyone tell me how i could get some information about crossover settings, cause am using a two way system and am loosing some frecuencies on my upper speakers, thank you.
I've tuned an eq to within 2db (average) of the room on all 31 frequency centers per stereo channel, ol Golden ear McCoy they used to call me however after a gig in Swahleeland Africa I developed an severe allergic reaction to all things 'sound' This horible malody (better known as Spl-idia)has me scared to even attempt a tuning, the last attempt caused me horrific pain!--barely moving the 20 khz slider gave me screaming burning ear acompanied by instant high pressure vomit spasms
Dear sir, We are having a school theater festival next week. Could you mind sir giving me some advice on how can I design an efficient sound system for an audience of 300 people with only a set of unidirectional microphones and 4---8 ohm speakers /250 watt. The room we will use is 15 ms width/ 30 m length without sound absorption facilities. Yours' faithfully

Calling freq's by ear is definatly not easy! Im still learning them been in it for 5-6 years and still rusty! Its coming tho ;)
I get the impression these videos are made by a small music shop or summin not FOH or system engineers? Fairplay for trying to help people tho.
