Warhol was a no talent troll of a man who used people then discarded them when they no longer served a purpose to him. Both fed off each others insecurities.

Hey, if you like this you should go and see the retrospective of photographer Nat Finkelstein at Idea Generation gallery in london. He photographed Andy Warhols factory. Its showing from 20th jan - 14th feb. :-)
Edie was always troubled. She was bound to fall sooner or later after her dad abusing her and her brother hanging himself.. and her other brother dying in the car accident.. that she was in as well. I believe that Andy took advantage of her but i dont think that bob dylan had a whole much 2 do with it
Andy Warhol is the purpose of Edie's death. She wanted someone to help her and upon turning to him, he threw her aside, Warhol the man that makes dreams for himself and doesn't care who he hurts.
to the haters i dont get why you would watch this and talk shit. respect the dead, and all the "real" crap about oh she did drugs soo fake. yeah, different state of mind but inside you did not know her for fuck sakes nor were you there so shut the mouth.

Fuck Edie Sedgwick, she never spent 12 hours scrubbing floors or working a cash register to get by, this cunt had millions handed to her and threw it all away like a dumbfuck, died at 28 from drug/alcohol abuse. She was a self-absorbed self-indulgent fuckass stupid shitwit who never did anything but stand around and look "kewl".
ooooooooooo SOMEBODYS JELOUS!!!!!! lol get over it she did have it hard she just didnt complain about 'poor little me' as much SOME people. cough cough. and can i ask what the hell is wrong with being happy being yourself? edie was an amazing person. end of story. stop being such a jelous loser and if ya dont like 'scrubbing floors' or whatever you do - DO SOMRTHING ELSE. and 'themodellife7' - you said it. i totally agree with you xx
Jealous? Hardly, edie had a short crappy life and never did anything but sit on her ass and look cool. She went through a huge inheritance in under a year through a child-like stupidity, ended up broke and dead at 27 . And I don't scrub floors asshole. I was just pointing out that a lot of people have it hard while fuckass stupid edie never did a goddamn thing but toss her life in the shitter.
ok ok if thats how you wanna look at things then you go ahead but bloody hell you must be a right anoying person to be around always self ritious, criticising everyone - what the hell did she ever do to you? did you know her personally?? do you have a drug addiction?? some things are waaaaaay more complicated than what they seem. but hey maybe youre a saint and never do anything wrong or make childlikem, stupid mistakes. =] go you. x

All I'm saying is it's assholish to idolize the cunt and make out like she was some kind of hero. She had no known talent other than tossing money away on Warhol, who she thought was her ticket to being a star. She was a useless twat.
yes she made some like - REALLY REALLY dumb mistakes - but, like, she WAS human. we all make dumb mistakes. people don't love her for being a drug addict - people love her because she wasnt a fake. she was herself. and she had 'IT'. which most people can only hope to have. you think she was a twat - ok youre entitled to youre oppinion, you have youre own role models/heros/style icons/wotever =]
Part of Edie's appeal is at least for me, what she represents. A time that will never come again, the 'Silver Sixties' the Factory, the scene in the underground & the excesses.
It's a bit like a dream now, seems really far off, in time & in concept. Can't go backwards. But it sure must have been something.
she brought something to new york and she put her life on film. people glorify fame by drugs and fashion. true fact; 85% of people wish to be famous and 1/3 of those people actually beleive it. why else are the tabloids out there... it's for all the want-2-Bs'. somebody tell me if i'm way off. i'm just expresssing my thoughts. either way this song is beautiful. it doesn't actually have to be about her. they use the name edie as a symbol maybe?
Actually, Ian Astbury said he wrote the song about her life. From what I can tell, he wrote about her while also reflecting on his failed relationship with Nico, and then her death which occured just before Sonic Temple was recorded. So, that's basically where the song is rooted.
interesting, "acoustic" version of this strong track differs from "full on" version from the excellent album, "sonic temple." thanks for, finally, combining images of the little queenie, herself, with this inspired song. rock on...
We all choose are own paths for better or worst. Even in our own self destruction when blindiness falls our feelings can betrey you to a problem with addiction.
Feelings are a powerful;l thing The diesese has got me alone and it toys with my brain every day every moment like Iam some kind of rag doll that can be thrown arown and thrown out with the trash when its all done!
I think im gonna go take a bunch of barbituates and wash that down with some absolut. Then fall asleep with a cigarette in my hand as my tribute to Edie. Goodnight.
Or you can take a bunch of percocet or oxycontin and wash it down w/booze, since it's the exact same chemical composition as heroin - wasn't she a heroin addict? What a shame.
a quaker is a nonconformist someone that go's there only way "a free spirt" why the hell would he sing about a trendy girl when its mostly to do about edie them ?
It's hard to see why people liked Andy, because he was so selfish, but maybe his friends saw some kind of potential for good in him. I'm sure that's how people see Edie, that in spite of her flaws there was something wonderful in her waiting to come out.
Have you read her bio? She was an american tragic, a woman who was very talented and butiful but troubled and lost. The whole story of her life is sad thats why so many people still talk about her. Her family were very abusive she ran to Harvard then NY basically whoral used her up and spat her out. that was the last straw. she will always be in my heart.
Edie was so vulnerable. Without being abused by Andy, she would have been damaged somehow. I believe she was already mentally damaged even before she met Andy.
Poor factory girl... May she rest in peace.
By the way, if you want to know more about Edie Sedgwick, start with the movie 'Factory Girl'.
Long live EDIE and Fuck andy whorehal! he's a pretentious cunt who used Edie for her money and then dropped her when she became a bigger star than him! He was a jealous little bitch...

i'll do the same...my god am drunk and i'm feeling her so much..,
jij55555 3 years ago
Or you can take a bunch of percocet or oxycontin and wash it down w/booze, since it's the exact same chemical composition as heroin - wasn't she a heroin addict? What a shame.

I´m sorry, what is "youthquaker"? Could anybody describe me that?
FreakyCheaky 3 years ago
Like a trendy influential person....earthquake / youthquake...shake things up....get it?
dapoetmaster 3 years ago
yeah. Thank U. :)
FreakyCheaky 3 years ago
a quaker is a nonconformist someone that go's there only way "a free spirt" why the hell would he sing about a trendy girl when its mostly to do about edie them ?

It's hard to see why people liked Andy, because he was so selfish, but maybe his friends saw some kind of potential for good in him. I'm sure that's how people see Edie, that in spite of her flaws there was something wonderful in her waiting to come out.

Have you read her bio? She was an american tragic, a woman who was very talented and butiful but troubled and lost. The whole story of her life is sad thats why so many people still talk about her. Her family were very abusive she ran to Harvard then NY basically whoral used her up and spat her out. that was the last straw. she will always be in my heart.

i had a dream about her and i told her to say hi to andy warhol

RIP Edie Sedgwick!This is sad!
dearmalika 3 years ago
Edie was so vulnerable. Without being abused by Andy, she would have been damaged somehow. I believe she was already mentally damaged even before she met Andy.
Poor factory girl... May she rest in peace.
By the way, if you want to know more about Edie Sedgwick, start with the movie 'Factory Girl'.
