All these shows,be it A-team, airwolf, Knight rider, they ran they're course, good for they're time,but it ended, 5th season theme was great, nice update. Just like the 1988 update of Mission: Impossible theme was great. But again, the show had long since run it's course.

@st4focus4mk4 I couldn't disagree more. I hate Season 5. Season's 1-4 had the team working for themselves. Nice mix of helping the helpless while running from the army. The whole dynamic was great. Then, they got shanghaied by his spook Stockwell who used the one thing they wanted most to railroad them to work for him. The show became a totally different thing from what it was before. Not a good change IMO.

I never had a problem with all the changes they did in season 5. I mean give me a break, the show was already slumping by the end of season 4, the ratings were sagging and the blush was off the rose of The A-Team by 1986, it was no longer the wildly popular series it was in 1984. So why not change things up? I was all for Stockwell, Frankie and the new theme.

You know what I hated about this season? The loss of control the team had over their lives. Robert Vaughn was always ordering them around and it just had a different feel to it. I suppose if I watched this season now, I might feel differently.

As a child I was obsessed with this show, my brothers had the A-team van all the action figures of the characters, a helicopter, the original A-team cards loved playing with them and I remeber queuing in the city nearby for over an hour when 5 with my family to get our picture taken with a full size cut out of BA

They should make a film/episode when they were in vietnam robbing the bank escaping from the prision etc because then they can use diff actors and get away with it because they were all younger and i think everyone wants to see them break out of the prision its always mensioned but never an episode or flashback of them doing it.

@ckg927, can I point something out about the upcoming movie: If 5000 rounds of ammunition are fired from both sides and nobody dies, then guess what it won't even be worth seeing. Let's just call this a pre-ripping. This also goes for helicopters which crash into hillsides and the pilots walk away. Good entertainment when we were kids, but the movie should get a little more real. I'm hoping it is an R-Rated A-Team movie.

As far as the A-Team goes, I call particular attention in an epsiode to a helicopter going into the side of the hill and everybody escaping unharmed. It is a joke unless they rate it "R" or "NC-17" and make it something good for a change. The PG rating ain't gonna cut it.

I do get your points, but part of the charm of The A-Team was that it WAS so damned unrealistic. I will never get why stuff has to be brought up to date. TV shows, for the most part, that are remade into movies fail-if not at the box office, then by being a big let down to people who loved the shows in the first place.

ckg927, sorry for giving you a hard time on it. I think we can also critique G.I. Joes as not being as great as the cartoon was LOL (granted unique fight scenes between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow but that was about it). I liked it better when they made movies for TV and if they want to do remakes, they should target it for TV vs. blowing millions making the flicks. However Hollywood knows that we will all pay to see it so I'll probably catch the el cheapo matinee :)

@ckg927, as a kid yes these shows were spactucular but looking back as an adult it is like what the hell was I thinkin??? Then again you are conversing with someone that has all the seasons of Knight Rider, V, and Greatest American Hero (yep very unrealistic) so you can harp on me for those choices. I think for me it is nostalgia but financially nostalgia has its limits. Can't own it all and some shows best left on the shelf :)

I like the intro and music to Season 5 of the A-Team.

I noticed that from Season 5, the A-Team was shown in a slightly different light i.e. there was more adulterated action and it was little bit more violent, but even more enjoyable.

I believe Season 5 is where the A-Team finally get caught from being Awol by a army guy called General Stockwell and they are given a choice of either prison or work for him by undergoing missions to stop Terrorism, Crime Organisations etc.

Same applies to "Airwolf"; that was getting quite bad towards the end of the it's 3rd and last network season (the last season to star Jan-Michael Vincent and Ernest Borgnine), but like you say, even at their worst, these kind of Golden Age 1980's shows are MILES better than shows airing today.
