The reason why it should be legal should not have to involve gang violence or anything like that. It should be legal because there really is no reason it should be illegal. Compared to other legal drugs like alcohol and tobacco, marijuana is harmless. Honestly, I only want this initiative to pass so weed will be cheaper. It basically is legal already here.

@thatsmyrail I just don't agree with the cartel arguments. The cartels and other gangs will just adapt and make other types of drugs that are more dangerous than harmless marijuana. I don't think marijuana become legal just yet because of propaganda and anti-drug sentiment. And I'm not really trying to convince anybody it must be legal. I'm just saying that government shouldn't go out of its way to prohibit marijuana like it did. Anyways, if this passes, the Supreme Court may kill it.

Besides that, the race issue is important because recent studies in the US have found that there is no difference between races when it comes to drug use, selling, trafficking etc, but a huge discrepancy when it comes to arrest and incarceration.
