The music for the opening and closing credits is Prokofiev, so I'd follow that trail.

That music is from Prokofiev's "Alexander Nevsky," and that particular part is called "Battle on the Ice." It was originally composed for Sergi Eisenstein's film of the same name. There are scenes of it on youtube, but the musical quality is pretty poor compared to the one used in this movie.
