As much as I admire Beyonce, her cover of this has absolutely none of the emotional impact of the original. It's as if she doesn't feel and has never felt the raw emotion she's singing about--mechanical. The only other version I've heard that has moved me as much is Billy's live performance of it in the Soviet Union. That part where he says "When I want sincerity, tell me where else can I turn?" was delivered with such pleading power in that performance that it made me start bawling like a baby.
