  • god i love the clash.

  • Who are the 11 idiots who do not like this?

  • why is everybody so serious? i wouldve been jumpimg around everywhere

  • @choloamericangangsta I'd be masturbating. hahaha Clash is that good.

  • this band is endless timeless boundaryless and true rootsness.

  • @jebediahism best band ever.....

  • Nowadays bands care so Much about bein perfect live they lip sinc. These guys obviously didn't give a shit, which made them even awesomer.

  • @redneckredguitars1 they were so much better live, that's why we loved them!!!

  • 10 people prefer Rebecca Black's 'music'

  • The most important band EVER! Saw them 5 times live but only twice with this line up. They tore the fucking roof off! I love Mick's Mott the Hoople look and Paul's mullet!

  • didnt know david bowie played bass.

  • @tazzman560 David Bowie plays everything, but i do think Simonon looks wierd with that perm :P

  • Real talent isn't having a great voice or guitar playing, its taking what you have and making it into something special. RIP Joe Strummer.

  • JOE this hair..these glasses...DAMN

  • great crowd lol, i think theres 1 guy barely nodding his head, wtf how can you resist stomping your feet

  • Wow, is this old school. Mick has hippie hair, Joe has a pompadour and Paul looks like he's sporting a mullet! Great stuff though. Saw them here (N'awlins) at the Warehouse With local legend Lee Dorsey (Workin' in a Coal Mine) opening for them. Smokin' good show. The Clash is gone & the closest thing we had (The Libertines) self-destructed. Batter Up!!!

  • you talk too much of joe strummer. don't forget mick jones. without him there is no the clash !

  • drum echo was spot on!!!

  • I was there at this recording. City rokers done on one take but tommy gun was done three times. Not my fav clash song but what a fucking frontman Joe was RIP.

you won't succeed unless you try !!!!

    wise words J.S.

  • Sick glasses Joe!

  • worst punk rock song ever!

    my god, i love it!

  • Comment removed

  • Joe Strummer what a frontman :)

  • Joe stummer is a bad-ass

  • rofl at joes glasses

  • One of my top songs of The Clash. Damn.. I wouldn't have mind if they made more albums!

  • Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • The Clash is my dad's favorite punk band. I realized this fact even more when I just now noticed that his hair has looked almost exactly like Joe Strummer's since his college years. I wonder if this is a coincidence...

  • @plaidmoose If The (Mighty) Clash are your Dads favourite band then listen to what he has to say. He should be sound in Every respect. And a dude too ;o)

  • @Spraycando Oh I definitely listen to his opinions. They're the only ones that make the most sense to me. I've learned more from him about making a living and doing things for myself than I have from anyone else. And I can't thank him enough for introducing me to The Clash. This band has taught me so much.

  • rock! rock! the clash city rockers!

  • since when did David Bowie play bass for the clash?

  • Though you can't really understand what he's saying, I dont care about lyrics, cause these guys had enough passion for punk rock that they didnt have to ace it! thats the message they taught us. Joe Strummer WE REMEMBER YOU!!!

  • what show was this performed on?

  • @chloeag321 I'm pretty sure it was 'The Oxford Road Show' from Manchester on BBC2

  • @practicallyclassic really? because i was watching this video (link wont work) (type the clash tommy gun top of the pops in the search bar) and its the very same perfomance. I am very confused as I thought the Clash never played top of the pops because it wasnt live....

  • @chloeag321 The caption is wrong then. The Clash never played TOTP, although if you get a chance, try to find 'Legs and Co,' dancing to Bank Robber on TOTP. Hilarious. 'The Oxford Road Show' was a different thing and the bands always played live. I'm not positive it was ORS, just pretty sure.

  • @chloeag321 no dude, the clash were totally against top of pops, the only time any of them were on was when joe was a mescalaro

  • @indielad13 i agree we have to make do with libertines, bombay bicycle club, maccabees and artic monkeys. who are still awsome but will never live up to the clash and the jam

  • @chloeag321 Living up to the Clash and the Jam...you're absolutely right. it'll never happen.

  • I'd kill to come back in the past and see them live!!!!

  • @reallyfeelful me to, sometimes i wish i was born in that era just to experince it all

  • Damn, that was a great performance! It's so rare to see Mick and Paul come in for ALL their vocal parts. Chances are they were told to keep it as true to the studio recording as possible for this TV show.

  • "Raise a toast to Saint Joe Strummer. I think he may have been our only decent teacher"

  • @paulmcguineapig1 THAT'S SO TRUE!!!

    I totally agree this

  • the only band that matters. still.

  • @indielad13 i would kill to see this live

  • what is mick's guitar? is this melody maker double cut?

  • who the FUCK chose their wardrobe for this show?? Elton fucking John?!?!

  • @CTZippy HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! why do you say that?!! because Paul Looks like Ziggy Stardust without make up??

  • @MikeyAnarchyPunk I was going to say that hahaha!

  • Beatles 2.0

And I mean in that in most flattering kind of way.

  • @pretzelkins yes, but, rather, Beatles Improved!

  • oo wenisimoo

  • @frenchdweeb999 he is totally tuning it, it had fallen *miles* off. Mind you, part of the unique Clash sound was Mick's guitar being miles out of tune. Spent ages trying to get that guitar tone and realized the trick is to leave shitty old strings on your guitar for way too long and it will never stay in tune - instant intro to Pressure Drop.

  • I was born in 1994 and I didn't care about music until after Joe died. I'll never get to see them live goddammit

  • haha joe looks like johnny cash

  • haha mick is such a perfectionist. you can see him tuning his guitar at 2:11 :D

    awesome guitarist anyway ;)

  • the clash live forever see them live in the day will never forget it

  • saint max accelerator purpose complaint dept is closed!

  • dollars24v,..to true fella,..fuckin kasabian,.yeah right,..a happy mondays tribute band, shit like the rest of it.everything now is weak and watered down,.

the record industry would never let another Clash happen

  • This is what we need uk now. These guys paved the way, Where has all the raw talent gone?

And it ain't on the X factor.

  • Don't worry - this Time is comin' ! ))

  • @dollars24v dont worry dude with music ledgends like danii minogie on xfactor, the futureof the uk music scene is safe, wonder what same differences new album will be about, hope its a fuck you album

  • Their autentic expresion even as musicians as lifeway was what people liked to they just need too be autentic to conquer. they have a don. we're talking of people like Freddy Mercury, Beatles, Ramones, and much other more. You all could tell me wich are those bands for you. C'mon.

  • @dollars24v Raw talent was brushed to one side to make way for the useless wannabe celebrity culture that has been brainwashed into the sheep following masses. We didn't stand a chance, what the "moral majority" want, they get. And they can keep it for all we, and people like us care. Boring us to death with more love songs. They have nothing to say that hasn't already been said a billion times before. Bands like the clash had plenty to say, and can still be heard for those not fooled by the 'X'

  • @rp61wasinnocentok I'm a fan of the Clash, B.A.D., Havana 3 am etc. I've actually seen them live along with The Ramones and The Jam. I have to tell you that you've been brainwashed pretty bad like the the majority of "punk rockers." You're comment is bullshit and it's so far up your ass it isn't funny!

  • @nkmcfrln It's seems odd that someone who's seen those bands would have a go at someone for slating a karaoke scene that's gone mad. And not only that, but saying all punk rockers are brainwashed. Now that IS funny, and I do declare sir that it's you who whiffs of bullshit...

  • @rp61wasinnocentok fucking greta sentiment mate

  • @mingmong21 *great

  • Wasn't this when they were on that show Something Else?

    They're so amazing!

    Love this song

  • idk if you guys notice this but this riff sounds alot like the beginning of "can't explain" by the who

  • So does the intro to "Guns on the Roof"- They liked that chord progression!

  • "And the world's got you and i say the bells of prince far i"

  • VancouverJames,..totally agree

    R.I.P....Joe

  • paul simomon...love you...

  • Simply one of the best bands all time...R.I.P. Joe

  • what a cool fkn band

  • raw storming song

  • Classic!

  • "When I am fitter say the bells of Gary Glitter". What a truly great line. Brilliant. Nice bum notes, though Mick ....

  • Ever woundered what they would sing about now...?

    We'v never been so soft.

  • topper headon and paul simonon rock my fuckin socks

  • cool

  • pure clash!!!!!!!!!!!

  • YES! the only band that matters

  • @dsdontsurf i love the clash but id say the jam and the damned mattered too! Nevermind the pistols the jam clash and damned were the biz!

  • @salvadory true enough, but I said that because it was a slogan back in the day put out by their record label which everyone used to refer to the Clash. I still have my worn out t-shirt that says it. : )

  • this is the second video i see today were ur talking shit about the clash dont u have anything better to do then watch videos of a band u dont like if?? u dont like it y bother watching it u dick

  • fuck you you stupid little wank stain this is one of the best brittish bands of all time

  • Cunt

  • Strummer has the beautiful shouting voice and Mick has the voice of an angel who eats tissue paper. And i dont think Joe had one. He just liked to slur his words a bit when he sang

  • It's like Joe said, "If you annunciate, it takes all the piss outta the song." This song is the shit and Joe's slurring just made it more intense! :) R.I.P. Joe!

  • Has joe strummer got a lisp?

  • no it's just his drunken punk rock voice

  • He did.

  • best band ever! I'm diggin' joe's aviators

  • Joe Strummer is the one with glasses, mick jones is the one on the left

  • best fukkin song from the clash

  • great song

  • so rockin'

  • The Clash is awesome!!!!!!!!! Is it Mick jones or Joe strummmer that is singing this song?

  • strummer is witch glasses

  • joe strummer mick sings should i stay or shold i go

  • the clash is the best band ever

  • and aerosmith and kiss :D

  • only aerosmith when they were on drugs

    and kiss sucks

  • they still both suck, they only made the aerosmith guitar hero because they ran out of money

  • you sucks, cocksucker

  • I remember this when it was first broadcast. It was one of those very earnest 'youth' shows of the time (possibly 'Something Else') which sought to combine pop music with analysis of issues of the day thought relevant to 'youth'. This type of programme was once memorably satirised in an episode of 'The Young Ones'. If I remember rightly after this performance The Clash sat down to discuss politics with a Labour MP of the day (possibly Renee Short?). It wasn't a very fruitful discussion!

  • best punk song ever

  • I love this song

    juste like it

  • iron maiden? oh that comedy band for dungeons and dragons fans - I heard they hate punk music though. Then again that explains why they are so crap.

  • やっぱclash最高 ちょーかっこいー。

    japanだったらanarchy

  • Punch up DEE DEE TIME BOMB on youtube, so good!

  • does he av a lisp??

  • 'No one but you and I say the bells of prince far-i'

Prince far I is a damn good reggae musician, with his deep voice shoutin' psalms :D:D

  • A lot of people say it's all dead. As soon as punk had a uniform.. studs, mohawk etc.. the look could be sold. You could go down to GAP and become a punk.

As soon as punk had a sound the music could be sold. You can stroll down to the HMV "Punk" section. And be told what's punk and what's not by a multinational corporation.

They can never control our thinking. Punk thinking went on to form techno, rap, and it will occur again. Enough categorization. Find new music. It's out there. It's changed

  • revolution music

  • rock rock clash city sit-and-watchers

  • As a kid of the newer rock generation I must say I think the old school rock n' roll is better than the new school.

  • Had my tonsils out when 21yrs...crapola however my first outing from being a bit sick was The Clash at Blackburn King Georges Hall with my big bro....My God I was better in a second when they took the stage!!! God Bless Joe Strummer I loved him anyway he shares an horrendous date with my family 22nd December..a year after he died so did my dad..his name is Tommy....his fave song? need i tell you Tommy Gun!!!
