  • @heslekrants My 1999 Chevy Suburban stopped dead in its tracks last month. Engine still cranks over, has spark so i think the problem could be in the fuel system. Please help me

  • @goodson305 Check your fuel pressure, should be ~60psi. there's a test point on the fuel rail near the throttle body on driver's side. I'm on my 4th fuel pump with only 250,000 miles. Don't buy a Carter fuel pump I installed one in my Burb & my son's Firebird a week apart. A month later both died.

Do you have power to the fuel pump? Could be a bad fuse.

  • @heslekrants thank you for your help My 99 suburban have 151,000 miles on it I got new spark plug, air filter and fuel filter cause when I sprayed it with starting fluid it start and run normally.I drive it to work every day by spraying that starting fluid I got a 5.7L so I'm thinking it could be that I have to take the intake manifold of and check the fuel pressure regulator valve underneath it. what do you think about that?

  • @goodson305 I would hook up a fuel pressure gauge then turn your key to on position but don't start & see if you are getting up to pressure. Have you replaced your fuel injection spider yet? If not you should upgrade to the GM MPI & get rid of those poppets.

  • Hey, i installed last week a HT383e GM Performance, and a 4L60E monster transmission on my 98 tahoe.

    the rest is all stock.

i dont have to worry about DEQ or any of that... where im from, please give some tips on improving stock fuel system and exhaust.

    thanks

  • PCMforLess com did my tune and has great customer service.

I replace the factory poppet spider injectors with GM's upgraded injectors so that helps but I'm sure with bigger injectors I would be putting down and extra 50hp then what I am now.

I reserved a dyno on Sept 12th to run my 2010 SRT Challenger, 2010 Mustang GT, 2000 Camaro SS and I may run the Suburban just to see what she's putting out.

  • @heslekrants I agree the new gm mfi injectors are much better then the poppet I did that upgrade on my 96 tahoe last summer and was very satisfied hopefully a 383 this summer with a 4l80e trans

  • who tuned your ecm?

  • im doing this to my 99 tahoe are you getting enough fuel?

  • what tranny do you have

  • @josecastillonyc - It's a performance built 4L60E , got $2,000 into the tranny alone.

  • hey im building something very similar. i was wondering why u kept the spider injectors instead of a carb?

  • @StuntmanRay385 I still have to pass DEQ where I live so I updated my injectors. It runs good but I'm working the injectors really hard.

  • I'm running Patriot Freedom Series alum Vortec heads & they have both valve cover bolt patterns.

  • Are you using the stock Vortec heads? If so, how did you get those valve covers onto the vortec heads? Vortec Heads have a centerbolt pattern.

  • make some accleration vids plz

  • those are some sick looking valve covers, what kind are they?

  • @snakesonaplane2 I got them at Schucks, they are Spectre Aluminum Valve Covers SPE-5030

  • what did you use for fuel management? stock tbi system? sounds nice

  • I'm running the factory Vortec intake with the upgraded MPFI injectors.

The runners on the intake were cleaned up a bit with a grinder for better flow.

My ECM was reprogrammed due to all the mods.

  • Dynoes are heart breakers but I would like to put her on one anyway. Too many project but no time.

Just bought 4.56 gears to replace my 3.73s and plan on taking her to the track this spring.

  • Sounds great! Have you dynoed it yet?

  • That thing needs a 6" lift and some 33's

  • how abotu some 20 inch american racing off road rims and 35 inch tires :D
