  • Awesome model. It's still a tensegrity, yet rather a class-2 tensegrity (meaning compression elements joining). Great to see one of those deployed for load-bearing, another step towards using tensegrity principles in engineering.

    Could you tell me haw much such an actuator costs and where do you getthem.

    you know, purists will say that that is not an actual tensegrity because the horizontal plates touch the compression elements (actuators). But otherwise it would not work because of the excess degrees of freedom. excellent work!

  • Thanx, it's true that it is not the pure definition of tensegrity. This was a step in creating a stiff structure during opening an folding (and not only in the final position).

    Actuators are from Hiwin.
