UDS was credited with creating a new musical genre which was called 'hardcore'. The second 'hardcore' band my crowd heard of came out in 1991, the year before Rage and not ironically, is named The Hard Corps, or THC, for short. While only a one hit wonder they are also a hell of a lot more entertaining than 'whine against the machine'. The video for the song, Hard Corps, from 'Def Before Dishonour', produced by Jam Master Jay of RUN-DMC, is also on youtube.
The ratm members were probably still in grade school when the dance squad started, in 1986. Rage formed in 1991 and didn't release anything until 1992. Regurgitating the same song with different lyrics was pretty much the extent of Rage's musical ability and their posing relegated their original following pretty much to nobody but young teenage boys trying to pose along with them. Got tired of their first hit after hearing it maybe 3 times and everything after just sounded the same, as in lame.
PS i wish i could say should not change but sad saying i think we all died years ago and few are left also usa just sucks and always did. good deal though seeing you love you all even old and new is good in ways. I sadly know how it is and I know many that want you to know WE LOVE YOU AS YOU ARE AND WERE >> WE LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH !!!
freaking gooogle bs and other shittttt mad it hard to even care but I fear this is URBAN DANCE SQUAD AS IN THE EARLY 80S BAND THAT WHEN I WAS A SKATER WOULD KILL TO HEAR. GOOD DEAL YOU GUYS ROCK AND DID HOPE YOU MADE IT DAMN YOU RAP AND ROCK ALL SO WELL BUT I THINK IT IS YOU SO OF COURSE OMG I LOVE YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR DEALING WITH LAMS TO STAY UP THERE GOD I LOVE AND MISSED YOU GUYS
This entire band at this point in time Killed! RATM had a good run, but this line up is far better then any Rage line up. Look at the front man at 2:29, Zach just looked like he was gunna have a stroke during the leads, plus this guitar player is rocking some serious blues runs. Tom might have been able to play, but he was way to gimmicky. Plus the kill the rich meassage got old fast with Rage especially after they started getting rich. These guys just made great get up and kick it rock songs.
one of top live act I ever seen in action. This version is unbelievable, first 30 seconds are an earthquaque and comparable in beauty to Marco Van Basten goal versus Russia in european cup final.
YES! Still have my 20+ year old 'Mental Floss for the Globe' Cassette - I played the heck out of my copy back in the day - it's a small wonder it's still intact :-)
I prefer the acoustic version, this one sounds more like RATM.I know UDS came out first, but i don´t hear their influence in RATM,cuz,to me, UDS sounded more like a rock band with an MC and a DJ,whereas RATM were heavy AND funky at the same time.Great, sadly underrated band, though!!
UDS kicked some major behind back then!! I was there in '94 and almost everywhere they went. They invented this cross-over sound. Dutch genius Rude Boy!!
@CirSam I know I'm young, but the "Beastie Boys" and "RUN DMC" did rap rock in the eighties! I remember my older brother playing their stuff all the time when I was in dipers. I grew up with all kinds of music, there fore I have an open mind when it comes to music. Not only the shit that is out today. To be honest a lot of music of today sucks. There are some good bands, like my "MUSE", but a lot of crapy bands too!
@CirSam there was so much fusion toward the late 80s early 90s. people just talk bout korn, and limp biscuit but you can go back to fishbone and early red hot chilli peppers and they were doin this in the early 80s
UDS rules!!!!!
