  • legit review, game is fun as hell

  • @darkiscoolz

    magna carta 2

    lost oddysea

    infinite undiscovery

tales of vesperia is overrated crap, just like most of them.

only reason it's well known rpg franchise is the fact it has alot of rabid fanboys, just like final fantasy.

    is what it is.

  • @dsavish Magna Carta 2 and lost odyssey is good infinite undiscovery is not that good in my opinion i haven't play tales of vesperia but i like final fantasy.

  • After finishing the amazing Enchanted Arms and Infinite Undiscovery, I decided to start this JRPG. And so far, I really enjoy it. Especially Zephie. She's awesome! :)

  • i watched this review then bought the game from amazon :D

  • Well , i personally say , the game is good , but after the half its a PAIN in your back , i mean the difficulty will RISE up a lot

it goes from easy to hard

  • @VerusWiseman

Eh, the game was harder for me during the first half. Got easier towards the end and was extremely easy by the time I got to the last boss. Then again, I did all the side-quests :/

  • @DivineAria so you got the other easy half i guess :D lol

i also did all sidequests... and the further i came in the game , the harder it because

the worst part in the game for me was defeating beelzebub complete and the part that the princess and ninja goes inside juto (sorry i don't remember all names)

the part that enemies came out , wave after wave was just hard

in fact the gae was pretty good , but i never wanna play it again , for some reasons ,that is cuz of the dlc

  • @darkiscoolz I would go with Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey. If you are into something more "new", try eternal sonata.

  • @gumblebroo

Personally, I like Magna Carta 2 better than Vesperia. After about 10 hours of Vesperia, I didn't have the motivation to continue it. It was slow and going nowhere. I find most Tales games to be like that though. Lost Odyssey, on the other hand, is amazing. As for Eternal Sonata, it's a beautiful game and the battle system is decent enough but where the game fails is story and characters. The story is very lacking and there's nothing interesting about the characters.

  • I really like this game..beat it yesterday

  • wait... are koreans chinese or are they japanese?

  • @ptc9687 are you serious? or racist? Korean Chinese and Japanese are totally different ethnics, btw, this game is a korean game but in japanese text and has japanese voice acting.

  • It's not a JRPG it's a KRPG... I wish people would stop thinking all "Azn like ethnicities are "Japanese" which they aren't..

  • @AsterBarnivere any other good KRPG's out there aside from this and Ragnarok?

  • @AsterBarnivere Someone told me that "JRPG" was simply the genre...?

  • @IrritableGiraffe JRPG and KRPG are sub genres in a genre (RPG). I'm pointing out a mistake that people think all asian RPGs come from Japan (which they don't) This came from Korea (and thus is a KRPG)

  • HNG...

  • I really like Eternal Sonata and Dragon Quest (to name a few nice J-RPGs), but I returned Star Ocean couse I thought that game sucked. Magna Carta 2 seems to be a better game, but since I've heard much comparisons to Star Ocean, I don't know if I'm really gonna like this... Do you think this game will suit me? Help me out please! :P

  • @copi111 Could be because of the dreams/or more mature/darker storyline? Or maybe the random/turn based battles? Give it a chance again though, maybe some other time. :)

  • @cjcneocon lol, I thought pretty much the same thing..about being a wigger if not actually negro. :P

  • you have a shitty voice.

  • @Sandrock2885 agreed: sounds like new york or new jersey accent? I think of that kid who was Doogie Howser's friend when I hear this guy.

  • eather way thats my opinion lol ive put this game aside and i never play it again, for some reason leveling up could take some ppl a good amount of months or years even to get to know! so screw that thats the worst thing in this game!

The good shit is like you said "TITS" lol thats like YES u know YES fuk yeh i havent see any other RPG with hot chicks like in this game dam they made it epic here i love the chicks in this game but am sorry i keep comin back the lvl up system cause it sucks!!!

  • lol i love this. ok Lost Odesy scuks! thats like no shit about that it SUCKS! anyways i cant get the word "tits" out my head now lol the leveling up system is horrible seriously horrible i dont know if u know about the Enchanted Arms game where u can win in a roulette to lvl faster with a save and load method see if they had that on this game then it would be something else even though it doesnt compare.

  • you talk about voice acting listen to yourself. stop making videos with our annoying voice. star ocean is a great game with good voice acting. besides one annoying little girl. its not that bad. the game is great with combat and story, id punch you in the face if i knew where you lived.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 no u wont.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 You're on the wrong video moron.

  • @oakin413 no im not dumb ass. he talks about star ocean use your eags failure.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 Haha, I'd use my "eags" if I knew what those are.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 I agree wholeheartedly, I haven't played the game but I think Lymle is so cute. I love how she says "kay" after most of her lines.

  • your opening is annoying and so is your opinion of star ocean which is a great game.

  • i always like the guy who played as Juto...He also played as Lelouch in Code Geass anime series, Hack/G.U as Kuhn, Tale of the abyss as Guy and some other fantastic game...Unlike some voice actor, He always keep his voice emotional which is superb when it comes to the dramatic scenes and stuff..

He and Yuri (who VA as Sasuke in Naruto, VA as Luke in tale of the abyss etc.) Are both a perfect combination...They both put their hearts in the characters

  • I think gameplay or closer to Infinite Undiscovery than FFXII

  • western people are uneducated about Asia. Seriously... get your head out Japan's arse and do some research before making any form of reviews. this game is KOREAN

  • @KoreanOTB this game was made in Korea but its genre is JRPG

  • @gameman191 actually it's not. critics of this videogame state the minuscule differences either for good or bad.

  • @KoreanOTB You're an idiot, who cares if the game is Korean? It's still considered a Jrpg, who the fuck would actually call it a Krpg?!

  • Japanese? it's Korean...

  • if this is 2nd best jrpg in ur opinion whats first:?

  • looks like action ff12

  • i can t tell if you're black, british or something else. care to explain?

  • @Archangel8492 He's Native American.

  • how do u do the over drive, keep over heating!

  • Is there any Anime cutscenes? Or is it just CG? I just got the game but I'm way too busy to play it right now...

  • i loved how juto whooped the guardians ass with a... yep thats right a wooden sword

  • any summons or anything like that, guessing the specials are the it factor? i didn't like SO TLH at all, but MC 2 sounds good to me.

  • i've been relying far too heavily on gamespot for my reviews and game purchases ... guess I was an idiot for doing so ... i'm beginning to realize that they seem to rate anything that's not mainstream low ... esp jrpg's - except square.

  • This is not a jrpg. He was wrong on that assumption.

  • that song as tight foo said even on a 360 hate gears of war haha

  • JONNY YONG BOSCH!!! Nice that's always a plus, he is a great voice actor. I can't wait to get this.

  • Nice review

  • you review games how they should be reviewed. please do not more

  • You hate Brutal Legends but gay for MangaCarta 2?

  • All this war story reminds me of one of the best game through history:

    SUIKODEN V

  • Wow this story is so original. It doesn't sound like Square Enix used this plot before.

  • i really like this review because he dosent sound like a fag store worker trying to sell you a crappy game he talks like a friend who has played it before.

AND HE IS FUNNY AS HELL!!

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm he joins the south army...fights against the "evil" north? and made by korea?? seems like politics lol

  • this is the coolest review person on youtube

  • unnaturally huge tits...I AM SO BUYING THIS NOW!

  • @bubbaXzone Of course there are huge tits. Its a JRPG.

  • @bubbaXzone hehe, I'm a girl and I think the characters (especially the women) are beautiful! I love Hung Tae Kim's art style in this game.

  • @bubbaXzone No I wasn't saying that you were bashing SO4, I was responding to your big tit comment and saying that even though I'm a girl I love the way the women look in this game. I was saying fuck you to the uploader for bashing SO4 in his review. I'm sorry for any confusion.

  • LOL south side and north side, how stupid. and fuck you for bashing star ocean 4!

  • @9HereticPrincess9 i was bashing star ocean 4? I liked that game tho.

  • nice story ... korean history ... what can you expect its a korean title :p

  • Should I get Magna Carta 2? Star Ocean TLH, or Tales of Vesperia?

  • @AstroZombee87 I played all 3 and tales of vesperia is the most fun and better story. My opinion though

  • @Mystology Thanks I think I'm going to play TOV, then Star Ocean and finally MagnaCarta 2. I wish FF13 Versus was coming to the Xbox 360!

  • @AstroZombee87

Star Ocean is best avoided. Save your money because even though the gameplay was pretty good, it get's boring l8er on and the V/A and cutscenes really turned me off. It's been a year already and I'm not even 50% done with the game. TOV is a good choice tho.

  • @Mystology If it wasn't for the fact that the Tales Series consistantly recycles their storylines, I would agree with you. The Spirit thing can get a little old sometimes.

  • @AstroZombee87 Get all 3, I plan to. ;)

  • big boobs. Now I gotta buy this

  • Tits are huge = Rates it 10!!

  • he umm... he ahhh....then he did this and umm.... learn to script out your review. like fuck me definetely 2nd rate. waste of my time.

  • This is a 360 exclusive.

  • this game is pretty hard for me trying to get all achievements. one of the bosses killed almost all my potions and i have to spend my money on them ):

  • ROFLMAO I SWEAR TO GOD THAT IM AT THE END OF THE GAME AND IV BEEN PLAYING FOR 15Hours but i guess i didnt do sidequest

  • hey whity which would you recommend more lost odyssey or this?

i cant decide between the 2

  • lost odyssey most definitely!

  • get both....LO you can buy for $15 and this you can find for around $35-$40

  • MC2 > LO

  • If you like RPGs at all, get this game, it is good as hell; though the negative comments the reviewer said are very true; Still great.

  • A nice, fair review. I'm definitely going to check out your other vids now.

  • I think its a great RPG im really enjoying it and love the fact that a review isnt all critical. I am always pleased with your reviews, no crap in them fully want you need to know.

Magna Carta 2 is a great game :)

  • Big boobs, whats not to enjoy?

  • ahhahahahahhaha you are right about the BIG BOOBS :P i like it :P

  • don't wanna sound like a lil btch but this game is a krpg (korean)

  • I'm glad that they went with a proper battle system, and not that terrible thing where you get put in a different environment not knowing what the hell you're even going to face. It could be two blobs and a giant bird, or maybe a flying beetle and a slug.

  • This is why I love youtube game reviews. No bullshit or getting paid to say certain things like certain game magazine reviews. You can tell who's bias or not.

    Great review.

  • you don't go into a battle screen n hear DUN DU DUN DU DUN DU HAHAHAHAHAHA Laughed so hard at that haha

  • Man can't wait to get my hands on this game. I'm getting this and then get Infinite Undiscovery.

    My fav J-RPGS:

    The Last Remnant(square enix)

    Final Fantasy 7(square enix)

    Final Fantasy 9(square enix)

I wonder where MC2 and Infinite Undiscovery would rank in my list. Or is it time to expand it to 5 :3 ?

  • okay dude let me tell u sth.... Just don´t buy infinite Undiscovery... one of the worst rpg´s i have ever played....lame story, lame graphics, lame fightingsystem.. and to ur rank: The last remnant? Are u serious? That game was really ugly...the best J-Rpgs are nearly all ff titles, chrono trigger, Tales of series and phantasy star series...magna carta is as well a good game...but not comperable to the one I sad to u...well thats just my opinion

  • Well I did skip Infinite Undiscovery. I also played some of those you said.

Why Last Remnant? If I'm to rank its components Bad, satisfactory, good and great, this is how it will be:

    Story: Good

Battle System: Great(requires lots of tactics so average gamers will not be able to appreciate this)

Replay ability: Good(The number of characters to unlock, weapons to get and quests are similar to that of Suikoden 1 & 2 giving it a good replay ability)

  • I relatively agree with most of what you're saying, but I must say however that I had more fun with Infinite Undiscovery than with any Phantasy Star games. I just hate that series. :/

  • @Wortgewand You're right that IU is shit, but TLR is fantastic!

  • @2007006096 The Last Remnant is the shit! I'm still on the 1st disc and am loving the hell out of it! I play it daily. :)

  • @9HereticPrincess9 the last remmnant was good but i never really knew where i was going and it tok alot to get the achievements so i never really played it.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 Were the maps difficult to figure out, or just the story/quest progression? I only have a few achievements so far myself.

  • @9HereticPrincess9 idk it never really helped you out to where you had to go. im not the smartest person in the world so i get lst easy.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 I have a TERRIBLE sense of direction and have a VERY hard time with maps in real life, but TLR's maps were fine for me...except the quest where you have to touch certain pillars to find the ghost boy in The Great Sand Sea, I've been all over that place it seems and can't even find the treasure remnant which contains the map! :''(

  • @9HereticPrincess9 the oart i stoped playing was this part with a bunch of bug looking creatures and you had to find the one that was the bad one or something and i couldnt do it. so i stoped playing it. has been a long time so i forget.

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 Oh that was simple! :) You just needed to kill Grand Beetles in the Great Sand Sea until you obtained the "Bloodsoaked Sword" then you get transported back, the guy screws with your head some, and gives you a Salia.

  • @9HereticPrincess9 by the way, I only had to kill 2 before getting it, they are HUGE green fuckers lol

  • @JoKeRsObLiViOn420 est 22

    Name: The Losing Game

    Source: Dishonest-Looking Man<--LOL

When: Once Heroic Ramparts appears on map

    Where: Baaluk - The Rift

Objective: Kill the Grand Beetle not far from western exit in the Great Sand Sea to get the sword.

    Reward: Ves Salia<--#5

  • @9HereticPrincess9 This is taken from a quest guide on Gamefaq's but I can't post links! >_<

  • @9HereticPrincess9 Man I played it twice already and I still haven't gotten torgal a hawkrind. I prefer to make him a "paladin" type since he's a leader on one of my groups. That way, all my groups can cast those secret techniques.

  • @2007006096 Holy hell you've been through the WHOLE game twice?! I don't know what a hawkrind is, but that sucks you haven't gotten one. :/

For me it's Union 1: Rush, Torgal, Emma, David, Belroth...Union 2: Blocter (what a beast!) and some random soldiers.

  • @9HereticPrincess9 I see you're still starting. Well Hawkrind is an axe type weapon which torgal and rush can wield. It's the weapon which gives you the most powerfull secret arts(torgal with 4 of this is a total DMG monster, can get it if he learns combat exclusively).

  • @2007006096 Wow that weapon sounds amazing! Combat arts exclusively for Torgal huh? I don't really know how to tell what he is focused on...I've just been telling him to go for balance (I can't remember) when he asks me what he should focus on. Is it too late to make him combat based? And as for where I am in the game, the latest area I have opened on the map is Berechevaltelle (if that helps any).

  • @2007006096 Not to correct you, but the weapon name is Hawkwind, it and all it's other forms look killer!

  • @9HereticPrincess9 Ooh... I must've been playing too much back then that my eyes can't read properly. On the looks, yeah it's badass... and torgal has 4 :D

  • @2007006096 hehe, it's okay. My eyes blur up quite a bit too by the time I'm done because I play for long stretches as well. Yeah I can't even imagine him getting 4 of THOSE, what he has now (I forget what it is) is brutal as well! Can you help with my previous question as well? Thanks a lot! :D

  • @9HereticPrincess9 Yeah it's too late. I believe it's only for Combat exclusively. Balanced should get you the one with cerulean rain or something.

  • @2007006096 Thanks, from the TLR Wiki: Cerulean Rain: A weapon art for the Bluesteel. The blade is thrown skyward, raining down substantial damage to a union. Learned by (among others) Torgal: Balanced/Mystic route only. I can't find a picture though.

  • @9HereticPrincess9 well I can't remember it well but that weapon doesn't do much against a solo boss. What's good with that build though is you can have torgal as a leader even if it's for arcana arts build union. Unlike in an exclusive combat route, you can barely get an arcana activating action set.

  • @2007006096 Hmm, interesting.

  • yea people misjudge tales of vesperia becuase of what it looks like i think its one of the best rpg's ever made

  • yes that is so true, i have the game n wish they made more

  • @gardencityentertain3 i agree, also the ps3 version has lots of new stuff, vesperia is my fav jrpg atm

  • ty for the review im picking this game up

  • im stuck on final battle :(

  • this is a great game! im not too far in it, like 20 hours or so, but its great, got it for my birthday, which was about a week ago. screw ign for giving it a 6.5! Magna carta 2 is epic!

  • the gameplay reminds me of a updated version of radiata stories.

  • Great review.I'm gonna buy it next week! It looks like my kind of game.Lost odyssey is the best one and I even enjoyed Star ocean so I guess I will love this one too

  • yep star ocean is pretty good if u lik that u should get tales of vesperia

  • I own tales of vesperia and I freaking love it! Awsome game too

  • ok im stuck i want to buy either tales of vesperia /star ocean the last hope/infinite undiscovery/or this i have anough money for the first 3 but not this 1 and ive already played star ocean i made it 2 the beginning of disc 2 and in tales of vesperia ive made it to the part where u meet that girl with the purple hair i think she has and she dresses up to get a guard 2 move and i havent played this or infinite undiscovery what should i get?

  • I haven't played Magnacarta and Infinite undiscovery yet.I'm buying Magnacarta next week so I'll see.Anyway,Both Star ocean and Tales of Vesperia are pretty good but if I should choose one,it would be Tales of Vesperia!

  • finish ur games first.

  • btw this is Korean not Japanese

  • Dang, I need to get this game, btw Infinite Undiscovery is a great game.

  • this game is better than Infinite Undiscovery

  • Yeah, I know, that's why I want this game ;0!

  • iu is garbage

  • wow, this is the first review i see from you, and i gotta say it's really well done!!! I really enjoyed this review and hope u do more cause im subscribing :P

  • lol, everyone bashes star oean: the last hope! Why? I actually enjoyed star ocean 4 very much! Yes i will say that the voice acting in Magnacarta2 blows star ocean 4 out of the water, and the graphics of Magnacarta parallel dot hack g.u. (best game evar), but think that star ocean had more depth, an ocean if u will (lol), and i dont think that many games can actually reach the depths of stories like lot odessey, blue dragon, or tar ocean, then again, im not that far in magnacarta, so whatever :)

  • and if we are gonna go into gameplay, so far i think that its a mix of ffXII, so yes it is good in that respect, but that overheat stuff gets to me aot, i think it slows the game down for me, but thats because im not that far yet, so whatever lol. Personally the skill trees are one of the best things veseen in an rpg, to date, itreinds me of the rouge galaxy skill tree, in but this one is way better. So basically the only real problem i have with the game is the movement speed in combat mode...

  • this looks and plays like Folklore on ps3 which is a good game as well

  • get Borderlands .. AWESOME game

  • bangin review

  • i think u can only switch

  • i have a question, unlike infinite undiscovery where you could only be one character, can you be more than onecharacter throught the whole story of the game? or is t just in battles you can switch characters?

  • You can run around as different characters outside of fighting.

  • You say second best? So Lost Odyssey is the best? But what about Tales of Vesperia? I havent played lost Odyssey but i cant imagine it being better (Yuri has to be the best protagonist ever made). I also enjoyed Star Ocean 4, it wasnt that bad and kinda long too. But back to the review, you made me buy the game :D

  • @FlamingPain Lost Odyssey - not the best 360 has to offer, but solid enough for an early title.

Last Remnant - not for all, but I enjoy it and its a fresh change in JRPG.

Tales of Vesperia - Ugh. Interesting, but ugh.

Eternal Sonata - Haven't played, looks good but art style turns me off.

Star Ocean 4 - Cheezy as hell. Has good points but its pretty much why so many dislike JRPGs.

FFXIII - Amazing production, 'ok' game.

Enchanted Arms - fun system, meh production.

A shout out to Nier, FUN GAME

  • Woo Johnny Yong Bosch!

  • I was apprehensive, but between the review and the comments, I think I'll give this one a go. Hell, I played through all of Infinite Undiscovery, so how much worse could it be?

  • You are beasty if you played infinite Undiscovery all the way through.

  • I ALMOST got all the way through, but then I died and hadnt saved in a very long time, and said hell with it and traded it in

  • Infinite undiscovery was one of the best rpgs i ever played!!! lol

  • white man you me sold at big boobs

  • I love this game, 11 hours in so far. The story keeps getting deeper as new characters join the cast, the battle system is exciting with the stamina system. I admit I had to download the DLC in order to get past a certain point.. haha.. I didn't want to grind anymore :|.

  • not 2.58 i ment to say 2.28

  • at 2.58 they copied the enchanted arms way they talk and is this game out in melbourne yet

  • I bought this game today, played it for a couple of hours and i have to say this game is GREAT! even the ENG voice overs are GOOD!... if your a JRPG FAN you have to get this game! ^^

  • i have read the magna....oh wait this is a game ooooohhh ok wait one sec (plays MC2) oh this game is good

  • I was wondering if I should buy this and you just helped me out. thanks.

  • First of, I could baerly stand the intro. I actually left and started looking for another review but gave this another chance. Right after that the reviewer seems to tell the whole story with lots of ehm and ehhmmms.

  • For which consoles?

  • haha i like how this korean game isn't afraid to do a blatant metaphor of South and North Korea in it

  • chained combos was in enchanted arm but as you know that game is a turn based battle system

  • This game really is Korean though. lol It's in a JRPG style but it's Korean, no matter what anyone says it's Korean. lol I'm not trying to be smart with anyone, I'm just giving the truth. Though when you classify it as a JRPG I can understand, but calling the game Japanese, that's not true.

  • JRPG style. More so then WRPG style. You don't call every RPG from europe ERPG and every one from US URPG. WRPG is usually a different style of gaming compared to JRPG. Made by korean's yes, but it's style is very much like a JRPG.

  • Agreed, its like Demon's Souls even though it came out of Japan i'd call it a WRPG

  • @UltimateChance agree, how would you say Neir?

  • @FXIX Dude Nier is a bad ass game!

  • this game is SO original! and the story its also SO original!
