  • Continental is still around, its TWA, Eastern, And pan am

  • PSA is better

  • American Airlines should have the Walt Disney World official airline title today

  • 0:18 the flight attendant looks a lot like Tinkerbell

  • Awesome!

  • Airlines like TWA, Eastern, Western, Continental aren't around anymore. All victims of deregulation or being bought out.

  • I can't say I know for sure, but I doubt this was made my real Disney animators.

  • Oh Tristar... Where have you gone...

  • I'd be a little uneasy flying with the Mad Hatter...

  • Zip-a-dee-doo-dah!

  • there is no official airline of Walt Disney World today.I think Jet Blue Airways should

    have that title today.

  • At 0:25 if you look careful, those plane is Lockheed Tristar L-1011!!!!

Love to get chance to watch it! Thank you!

  • More likely it WAS Paul Frees instead of Orson Welles since he was famous for his Orson imitation and worked for a great deal less money. He was very often mistaken for Welles he was that good!

  • Very, very inspiring.

  • Why does that crowd scene at the end remind me of the closing scene of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"?

  • This is much more less creepy than the other Disney/Eastern one.

  • Dear All,

    I have some questions:

    (1) If Disney operate its "Disney Airline", will you think that it will be a popular way to travel?

    (2) Will you think that Disney Airline will be profitable business?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creatives ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

  • @applesweeter No, as long as people have access to the internet, they will buy the cheapest tickets for vacation, or airline with best connection times for business. And as long as travel agents are paid commisions, they will book passengers on the airline that will pay them the most. Themed airlines like Carnival Airlines, or Hooters Air will not garner a premium or a preference because of their theme.

  • @TomsFriendKake

    Thank you for your opinion.

I may have different view point from yours. If passenger do not like a Disney brand airline, and children do not enjoy to fly with Disney characters (eg. Micky), why does Disney Corporation have disney cruises for sailing for holiday?

  • @applesweeter Taking a cruise is entirely different. The cruise IS the destination, the flight is transportation to the destination. Look at it like this, long ago, back in the 1940's, 50's & 60's, the flight was a part of the vacation, however as flying became more common for the middle-class, it became less "exciting." Then after deregulation, it became very obvious how important "service" truely was to the masses. How else would airlines like Southwest and People Express have grown.

  • @TomsFriendKake I would say that the masses do have a bare minimum they will tolerate, such as airlines that are unsafe or always have filthy planes and etc. And although passengers would like more comfort and service, they will only pay so much for it. AA and TWA tried in the 90's to offer more room in coach for a very slight upcharge, and it failed. I would say that if a Disney Airline were to be started, it would only survive as a charter airline to limited markets.

  • @TomsFriendKake Scheduled airline rely heavily on business passengers, even Air Tran and SWA. It is even more important to SWA today as their business model is changing and they are now flying directly into major markets that their original model completely avoided such as PHL & NYC. These passengers really don't want to be served a 7&7 by a flight attendant dressed as Snow White. For the most part, this industry is an oligopoly, and it is harder to really differentiate airlines today.

  • @TomsFriendKake As SWA's costs have risen over the years, SWA cannot afford to not serve major business markets any longer. Same thing happened to Value Jet. After they became Air Tran, and while Delta was floundering, they added First Class and began serving major markets as well and adopted a more major airline model. Today, the US's big leisure airlines would be Allegiant and Spirit. They have even less seat pitch, operate fewer frequencies, and sell everything.

  • @TomsFriendKake If a Disney Airline were to start, it would be a similar model, however even less sucessful in my opinion as Allegiant and Spirit are still marketed primarily to adults that want to take an adult vacation. The market for a Disney Airline would be almost ALL familes with small children. These travelers are even MORE cost conciencious than many travelers using Allegiant and Spirit. They may fly Disney Air to Orlando when the price is no different, but most would not pay a premium.

  • @TomsFriendKake If Disney wanted to offer themed flights to Orlando or to their cruise ship, they would be better off using an established airline such as Allegiant and offer the flight as a themed flight with Disney Characters on board and sold as part of a packaged deal.

  • @TomsFriendKake This old Eastern Airlines commercial was marketed directly to children similar to how cereal like Trixx is marketed. It gets the children excited so they start pestering their parents to take them to Disney World. And in the 1970's, when Orlando was still a small city that exsisted because of Disney World, Eastern was the big game in town. So when the parents finally decided to take the kids to Disney World, they knew to fly Eastern.

  • @TomsFriendKake

    (.......comtined)

If airline serve passengers for holiday making and not for rush, then the airline should base on a brand that fit the passengers' mood. (eg. Virgin Airline, Emirates, Hawaii Airway)

  • @TomsFriendKake

Just about your last comment, I partly agree and partly disagree with your view point.

whether passnegers like a "Disney brand airline" depends on the nature of the airline's operation. If an airlines serve for passnegers who want to get from point A to point B rapidly for business, then the airline should be formal. (eg. AA, United Airline)

    (continue.....)

  • Tinkerbell was the stewardess! Take a look! Yes, stewardess! Love the vintage commercial, a classic. Miss Pan Am as well and those 707's!

  • haha dumbo following the plane =D

  • Sounds like the great Paul Frees as narrator...

  • @maxpowz Nah, it's Orson Welles.

  • This is really great. The thing I love about this vintage tv commercials is the quality that's in them. They can really sell something to the viewer without having to be so cheesy about it. We need more stuff like this in our world today.

  • Great commercial

  • The official airline of Walt Disney World

  • Back then, anyway.

  • I remember getting the disney eastern kids meal on the plane when I was a kid!

  • they just dont make commercials like that any more

  • They don't make AIRLINES like this any more. Eastern was truly a class act back in the day.

  • This is from 1973-1974 when Disney released the animated Robin Hood.
