I expected to hear a standing ovation and folks jumping up and down over this song because this song has blessed thousands maybe millions of people me being certainly one. But, this is only to prove that all glory and honor is yours Eternal Father. And, thank you Bob for carrying his message.
standard tuning...the first chord is a fm9, in which he is thumbing the E bass string on fret one. Not a hrd song to play, but I have to tune my guitar down a half step to sing it.
Wal Spencer wrote an Aussie Passion play called 'Grunt.' It was based around the owner of the pigs - so I guess it's connected to this brilliant song. Am I really Bob's only fan outside N.America?
I heard this song when I was only 10 years old, many many years ago. I was riveted by it.
The radio didn't say what the title was, or artist. Searched in the record stores, they had no idea what I was talking about.
25 years later I found out what it was, and PTL was able to grab a copy of Bright Avenue. I was listening to it on the way to work today and decided to search for video of Bob. He's a phenomenal guitarist and singer, and an honest christian.
For you B. Bennett fans (like me)..."Non-Fiction" is a fantastic album! "Savior of the World" was on it...the whole album is fantasic!! Came out in 86-87?
I absolutely love Bob Bennetts music! This and Lord of the Past from Songs from Bright Ave album are my favorite, too bad itunes doesnt have it nor of Small Graces, one of his more recent albums
Actually Bob came up to Canada about a year or 2 ago and my Dad was the one who brought him up with us and I think he stayed a couple of nights. He is one of the nicest guys but him and my Dad got caught in a snowstorm and they ended up spining out. Being a Warm Weather American I think Bob will wait to come up in the summer next time. They were fine its not fun spining out on a 400 highway.
Years ago I was at a guitar conference where he played. As he was leaving I asked him if he played guitar, cause I was 12 and thought it was funny to ask that question at a conference where eveyone played guitar. He said he played a little.
What a guy - what amazing lyrics. 25 yrs ago I brought him to my church in Memphis for a concert - then I got sequestered on a murder jury and missed the whole thing!!!!
Bob...Man what a blessing this song is to me...having been a man of the tombs. I have trying, in vain, to find some TABs or standard notation music books with the "Man of the Tombs." I am attempting to write TABs in *.ptb format....can you provide any assistance? For examples some fingering patters, palm damping info, etc. If so I will try to peace it together and post it if that's OK??
Wow, I can't believe I found this. Haven't heard this song for 10 yrs or more. If only "Lord of The Past" or some of his other older stuff were available. Bob is such a wonderful communicator of the Gospel. Again, wow.
Wow, The first time I heard this I couldn't believe the often overlooked story of the man of the tombs would be the life I wish for so desperately - delivered, clothed, and seated with the Savior. I can hardly speak. thank you
Bob you have a great singing voice. Reminds me of Bradda Israel Kamakawiwo'ole a Hawaiian singer now dead. If you are familiar with his music then you will see this as a compliment. His biggest ever hit was his version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow and What A Wonderful World" sang as one song. You are as good as him. You can't outdo IZ but maybe if you did a cover of that tune it would bring attention to your other work.
I've got a couple of his records but this is my first time to see him play, so that makes me very glad. I have to agree about the lettering though. It's very distracting and not at all entertaining. Let Bob speak for himself. Besides, pointing out the incredibly obvious just ain't cool. But I'm glad I finally got to see Bob, lettering or not. Thanks.
Thanks for posting what I also consider is his best composition and as mentioned by Bob, unlike anything else that's out there. In style it's reminiscent of Don Francisco's "first person" voiced gospel compositions. I felt sad that your kindness was responded to with discourtesy and cynicism. We all have our own tastes and can express them constructively without resorting to insulting or beliittling. God bless you
well, glad you enjoyed the video. If Bob asks me to I will remove the dopey flashing lettering. thanks for taking the time to comment.I like the dopey lettering. Big smile to you.

I searched for this song for about 15 years. What a blessing to hear it again. I can only pray that he is still singing Christ praises.

Beautiful story in song! Redemption and salvation by no act of the sinner but to ask for the help of the only One that can.

I really like this song--I also first heard it as a child. Does anyone know what tuning this is? I wish more people were aware of his music.

This song gives even more emotional life to this wonderful story, which I've always loved.
I have to agree, "My Redeemer Lives" is probably my favorite Bob Bennett song. He's great!
