The Hoodie isn't a real fan of gadget plays. To Coach Bill the end around is usually about as crafty as he gets. Besides the direct snap to the RB in the shotgun, with Brady constantly jumping up like it is a high snap, none of the other plays ever gets repeated.

That second play isn't a a statue of liberty (which is a fake throw, run play). What people are missing is that the Patriots frequently run a direct snap to the RB, while Brady jumps/spins with his arms up, to make it look like the snap went over his head (a common high school football play). Here, they fake the direct snap, while Brady still does the hands up jump to sell it.

Which isn't what the Patriots did. The Patriots faked a direct snap to the running back. In a sense, the Pats did a fake statue of liberty.

Brady's jump was not actually meant to suggest a bad snap. On goal line situations, the Pats are known to line up in shotgun and directly snap to the running back, usually with Brady doing a similar kind of gesturing. In this case, the Jaguars thought they were getting that direct snap, so they played against the run. The trick of this play is tricking the Jags into believing it was a trick play. That's the brilliance of it.
